What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 259 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (2,654 of 3,480 positive).
Many reviewers say the game is not worth its $50 price due to short story and lack of content. [1][2][3] Some players criticize the expensive day-one skins and monetization. [4][5][6]

The actual fighting is solid but its backed up by nothing at all, missing content on launch, lack of any offline content $10 skins on launch for a $50 game, asking far too much for providing so little

First things first, I am a fighting game player. I play these games A LOT. I love tag games, I love 3D fighters, I love plat fighters. All fighting games are good. Except this one. In the current state of the game this game is barely worth 30$ let alone the 50 asking price. The story mode while good is barely an hour and a half long, and single player content overall is lacking. The DLC costume prices got knocked …

CECIL… They Cooked with this One! I put a lot of time into Invincible VS during the beta on console, and I’ll say it straight up, this is one of the most promising fighting games I’ve played in years. The 3v3 tag system feels incredibly fluid, letting you chain combos and switch characters mid string in a way that never feels clunky. The “active tag” and counter mechanics add real depth, so it’s not just button …

Okay let me start by saying it's not a bad game because it isn't It's actually really fun. But with that said As someone who plays fighting games quite frequently I can see a lot of people giving up on this game really fast as Most of the invincible fan base aren't fighting game players. The game is easy as ♥♥♥♥ So much so to the point where I think it's unfair if you actually have fighting game knowledge. Combos …

This game could have easily been an FGC mainstay but will likely be killed off due to it's price, lack of content and egregious monetization. It has all the bones to be a great fighting game but compared to other games the price is just a death sentence for what still feels like an early access game. I assume we'll get some free updates especially since the story ends on a cliffhanger. But man, this game would have …

Also the deluxe edition doesn't include the day 1 skins 😊😊 we love gaming in 2026 yippieeeeeeeeeee Also it's apparently cheaper to buy the standard edition then upgrade to deluxe in my country, but I didn't notice that, so I lost 40 bucks 😉

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I gave Invincible VS a chance inside of the refund window and my overall conclusion is that this game falls short of the hype that was generated before release. This is coming from someone who binge watched all 4 seasons of the show and then read all 144 issues of the comics and all of the other in-universe content that was a available. I also have hundreds of hours in other fighting games such as Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Guilty Gear Strive, Mortal Kombat X, 11, and 1, and many more. I am a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Negate your opponent winning and the xp gain they get from it by just rage quitting, whether its ranked or casual. Horrible mechanic that makes the game not worth buying until this is fixed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Invincible VS updated and now not only can you skip intros but if someone rage quits it counts it as a win for you. THANK GOD! Game is great now, love it.
positive · AI labelView post →I just feel that the Price of the game does not fit with what the game currently offers in terms of content. Even if it is a decent Fighter. $50 is just too much here.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is absolutely shameful that this game released in 2026 for $50 when it plays this badly. Not even talking about the $10 skin that's literally just one character without their shirt. No. The game feels like piloting a tank that's riding on top of a unicycle while you're being drowned in molasses. The online feels so atrociously bad even on the BEST wired connections with most wifi connections being absolutely unplayable. My biggest complaint is that this game is EASY. Mark's fisher price…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Forgot to mention it on here, but I was laid off recently and am currently looking for new animation opportunities; games, shows or otherwise. Invincible VS was a fun project, it's a total delight to work on a fighting game! Attached a reel of a few anims I did for it:
positive · AI labelView post →The game is fun but not worth the current price, in it’s current state I’ll probably come back and pick it up on a sale for $30 it ran almost flawless on the Steam Deck consistent 40 to 60 fps, but that one map with the white background dropped it under 30 (in story mode). And when I hopped online it was worst, but I can’t knock the game for that. Other than that it was fun kinda wish they would add a singles mode to the game that would be better imo 6-10

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mark, This is GOOD NEWS. ✅ ✅ Invincible ✅ Casual-friendly, more accessible fighting game ✅ 3D translation looks good ❌ Could use more Modes ❌ Story mode very short (assume more is on the way?) ❌ Not worth full price, get elsewhere or when cheaper.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like Invincible VS, but it just doesn’t come together. The gameplay feels shallow and repetitive, with very little depth to keep you engaged beyond the first hour. The combat lacks weight, the progression is minimal, and the overall experience feels more like an early prototype than a finished game. If you’re a fan of the Invincible series, the novelty wears off fast. If you’re not, there’s even less here to hold your attention. Right now, it’s hard to justify the time,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great fighting game. Really cool characters and combo options and easy to learn the mechanics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game, needs more story and characters. Still not worth 50 clams.

neutral · AI labelView post →The gameplay is actually really fun but the game is barebones, barely anything to do offline. online is fun but i found myself often running into rage quitters, which made it an unfun
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3.) Avatar is a project whose combat system design is done by a literal known sex pest, and that’s hurting the game quite a bit. 4.) Invincible VS looks and plays like a mobile phone game that got pulled up from the slop mines as a cashgrab attempt.
negative · AI labelView post →This game is the lovechild of UMvC3 and Killer Instinct 2013. Every character has bs, and it's all fun as hell. 10/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Haven't had a chance to play yet cause I preordered the deluxe edition and received none of what I brought. But they'll fix it. It's just a few cosmetics. EDIT x2 : Have played a bit of the game, it's good gameplay wise. Nice meaty fighting game. Skins prices are kinda scummy though. <- 50$ essentially for a few skins, you're better off just getting the regular game for 50$ and getting the Year 1 pass later on when the DLC comes out.

neutral · AI labelView post →Not worth $50 at all. the game is fun nothing wrong other than the price for the content you get. i finished the campaign in like 45 mins, on sale ill buy it again but for now im refunding. not worth that much money at all
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game currently has no Steam Cloud Saves for some reason and the developers have not said anything about why that is or if this feature is coming at all in the future. They do however apparently have the time to add dlc skins for $10 each. There is also a huge issue with people quitting in the middle of fights. As it stands right now, I would not recommend buying this game. At least not until it's on a deep sale or the developer addresses these major issues.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great fighting game but story is way too short and lackluster, as a fan of the MVC games this is a fun fighting game but having skins on day 1 that cost $45 is insane and they should have come with the digital deluxe version of the game which was $70, a solid 8.3/10, if I need to add more to this review I will but yeah good invincible game, I want more games from the franchise. The comics are 9.8/10 and show is great as well. Anyways give me my preorder and digital deluxe items now (got my…

neutral · AI labelView post →Feels surprising easy to pick and play. Story mode is short but the cutscenes are quality. This game, like every fighting game at its core, isn't built with single player content first in mind. Hop online and play with people. If you don't want to do that, do not buy this. If you're on the fence, especially if you're also a fan of Invincible, then honestly do it because the first few weeks are the best time to pick up and learn a new fighting game. There's no better time.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game but people need to playing the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tutorial.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I beat the game, and I have a lot to say. While I DO think its a fantastic fighting game and worth playing, I cannot in recommend it for numerous reasons, varying from severe technical issues to egregious corporate greed that's setting a whole new standard for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up corporate practices for the fighting game industry. I'm going to list the bad things first, because ultimately, since it IS a great fighting game, these issues will be what makes you decide whether this game is worth…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cecil Stedman Gameplay Trailer | Invincible VS. Yes, yes, 2XKO just launched, but I'm not installing a rootkit on my computer to play a fighting game, and this game looks more interesting anyway. This guy looks cool, and having no familiarity with the source material, I also understand that in the lore, he's just a normal dude, so I like the help they let him call in to raise him to the power level of the super powered folks. Unless something stops me, I think I'll be able to get hands on…
positive · AI labelView post →Torn on this one. The fighting mechanics are intuitive and fun to use, that's true. However, the rest of the package is... lackluster, to say the least. Bare-bones? There's not much there beyond the hour-long story mode, running arcade ladders, or grinding online. What I find particularly scummy though is the drop of several $10 skins on the day of release while the base game is so bereft of content. There genuinely is no way to justify the decision other than greed. I wonder if they will…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have my critiques of Invincible VS but I am very surprised to see that some were expecting an honest, no BS fighting game Like I thought we all were on the same page that this was gonna be kusoge from the get go 💀
neutral · AI labelView post →I'm mixed on what I've played of this game. I'm giving it a negative review because you need to be really into fighting games to get anything out of it and it sounds like you probably need a good group of friends because the game currently doesnt punish ragequitting. From the single player perspective, the game is pretty barebones. you get arcade ladders and a story mode that I found interesting, but was over in about 2 hours. there are a lot of unlockable costumes at least, but your options…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mostly they bought or founded studios that didn't produce a product. They bought the Killer Instinct devs, Double Helix, who mostly have now left and formed Quarter Up Games, working on the new Invincible Vs game. They put out a hero shooter called Crucible that launched and was quickly shut down. Their biggest success has been New World, which is a moderately successful MMO. They also forked CryEngine into Lumberyard, which found some favor in the market. Other than that, they've got some…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, but please lower the price. Its not worth $50 and I don't want this game to die. I had hope we'd get Thragg, but with the layoffs the future is looking grim :(
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As of today I've unfortunately joined the growing mountain of people in the game industry that have been laid off, so my time on Invincible VS is at an end
neutral · AI labelView post →Short Recommend :) The game kinda reminds me of Power Rangers Battle for the grid... Like that game, you'll like this one. It also some kind of mix of CVM and Killer instinct, which make it pretty nice to play. Bad point is the single player, There is an amazing story mode but it's simply to short !! Other than that there is a pretty poor arcade mode ... Game is for people liking Multiplayer. Single player, wait for a strong discount!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i enjoy the game and its fun with friends but theres very little to chew on for me, im only 5 hours in and i already feel like im reaching the skill cap with very little effort, best to play as a party game for most enjoyment
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →most overpriced game in existence. the combats fun and fluid, didn't receive pre-order bonus which is just bingo amazing, less than 2 hour campaign is robbery.
