A game from a different time... When comedy, character development, and repeat playability were seamlessly blended into one... This game still outshines new games even though its 15+ years old. Buy this, you wont regret it.

"Iron Brigade" is from 2012 in all the best ways. It's goofy and campy in pretty much every way it can think of, and takes it gameplay mechanics very seriously. Some of the balance choices directly related to the player seem a touch odd - I'm not sure why only Engineering Trenches have access to heavy turrets, for instance, but you can get all the way through the main campaign without them. I also really like the …

The game itself is SO good, a fusion of mech combat and tower defense, with a fun and silly vibe, and a solid amount of variety. It's slow to start, you are pretty underleveled, and the enemy variants all require a certain loadout in order to effectively defend. Your variety of turrets are also very impactful. So in the early stages, expect to not hit gold medals every time, and expect to occasionally get your base …

Hop aboard your trusty mech and smash those enemies flat. Decent gameplay with TPS and TD elements. Call for new drop with heavy equipment and place it on battlefield. Various type of towers including assault towers, generators and other useful stuff. Strategy is as important as shooting so make sure to devastate those tubes. Enemies will come in different categories so each weapon is effective against specific …

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of those games that you played as a kid on XB360 and thought to yourself if its available still. It is and it hasn't lost its charm at all. Sure it looks like it came from 2000s, but you're not playing it to for the graphics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Used to play this on my Xbox360. Remember beating the base game and then i never had the money for the DLC. Looks like thats all in here, and to top it off it runs on Steam Deck with 0 Issues. 10/10 3rd person RTS/Hordeshooter Hybrid. The Setting oozes character, all of the VAs are top-notch. Buy this game ASAP.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6.5/10 The story is rather thin, but the setting is quite original. Two persons were the sole survivors of a mysterious signal, but it changed them. One of them became a recognized genius who is now making mechanized equipment for the army. And the second became a crazy fanatic of the signal. This delirious villain created an army of creatures made of TV tube (yes, you read that right) in order to conquer the world for the signal. Rest assured, the game doesn't take itself seriously at all.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some friends and I just grinded this game for seven hours because we lost track of time. Overall this is a fun hoard shooterwith some unique customization and build options. The story is kind of wacky and all the enemies have pretty good designs. My friends and I did have some connectivity issues every now and then, but closing the game and reopening it seemed to fix it. For a game that came out in 2012, I'd say it still holds up!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't even know how I came across this game. I mean, to all you reviewers, did you ever hear this game before, like anywhere, during a gaming conference and here I am, reviewing and actually spending a day of playtime in a game from 2012 (when most of our ancestors were still breathing). Anyway, jokes apart .. To be honest, being a lover of iron man and marvel likes, I just searched for iron term on search bar and one fine day, steam threw this kinda not-so-known or renowned game. Just the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Iron Brigade is a real treat, Plenty of items of progression, Simple enough to 100% but Challenging enough to be entertaining and lengthy. The Story is simple and entertaining along with the classic innuendo here and there. There's nothing much else I can add except for the fact that this game has not aged too well in two aspects: 1stly is the Stuttering where out of the blue the game will stutter real hard but you can ride out the wave without much issue. 2ndly is the multiplayer connections,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember when this was on Xbox (360) Games for gold in 2013 Loved it back then but couldn't remember the name of it. eventually found it here on steam. loving playing it again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just how i remember it... this game was so awesome when i was just around 6 years old. i've watched my dad played this on the xbox 360, good times and back when games wasn't ass and more passionate, also the fact that this is four players! awesome!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →since it coming out for xbox live gold in 2014 or so its been my number 1 favourite game of all time, the number of times I reset my progress is indescribable best double fine game ever. wish there was a sequel still playing 11 years later
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Iron Brigade was one of the better games you could get from Xbox Arcade back on the 360. I was very happy to see it ported to PC as I had put in probably close to 100 hours yet still find it very entertaining. It's a third-person strategy/ tower defense game where you play as a commander whose purpose is to take out a main antagonist and his army of alien computer creature things. There's a lot of interesting mechanics, a decent plot, and tens of hours of content between enemy types, weapon…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot believe I never reviewed this game. So I played it originally on Xbox360 (+200-hrs from that device -- it's from that era with its advantages and flaws; and by today's PCs it runs on everything; even a potato ;-). This is a wonderful, quirky, unique adaptation of revisionist WWII in an alternate universe. Simple, yes. Limited tower choices, yes. But remember it is: 1st = FPS and 2nd = Tower Defense (although there is a light trench (mech) which is the opposite). I have had a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its been over a decade, and this is still the absolute best Action Tower Defense game I've played I wish it wasn't so old though, because there are still some issues and it has most certainly been abandoned; by devs and players. So no updates, patches, new content, or even other players for matchmaking. Orcs Must Die, Dungeon Defenders, Sanctum, Gross, Rift Breaker, They Are Billions, Xmorph, Fortified; I've played them ALL, and they're all good, some even great, but Iron Brigade is my #1…

neutral · AI labelView post →I'm sure it was a decent game when it was released, but it doesn't hold up today. Controls, camera, and gameplay feel so 2010, and not in a good way.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best tower defence game ever. shame they didn't do a sequel
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a masterpiece of art. One of the VERY few games (in my opinion) that has gotten the Mech/Gundam formula right. I originally found and played it on the Xbox 360, got to play it with other people that carried me to the endgame, but due to its lack of replayability without other people, so as I got older, it naturally faded into the back of my mind. Fast forward to a couple years ago, I remembered how fun it was, and decided to see if I could find it on Steam, and to no one's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What an underrated gem!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty sure this is a cryto miner, as I cannot understand how a Xbox360 game could use more memory than almost all modern games I've played. Its so poorly optimised that, and uses so much memory that the game causes constant stuttering and audio issues, even while playing single player. The devs have also advised one of the best ways to fix this is to turn off your pc's anti virus and other protections.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hands down my favorite tower defense game ever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't recommend this game enough. Shooter, tower defense, and very unique. I love this game more than all the games I've played.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →5/10 not as good as the sanctum games and you cant really play it solo - really slow move speed and multiple points the player must defend - would get on deep sale
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trenched / Iron Brigade is still my favorite Double Fine game.
positive · AI labelView post →Iron Brigade, developed by Double Fine Productions and published by Xbox Game Studios alongside Double Fine, is a genre-blending experiment that fuses third-person shooting with tower defense mechanics into a cohesive, if sometimes demanding, experience. It’s a game that doesn’t follow the conventional path of either genre, instead asking players to divide their attention between real-time combat and strategic planning. That hybrid identity is what makes it stand out, but also what makes it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if any game deserved a pt2 or a remaster it was iron brigade a game ive played since xbox 360 for its timeless gameplay
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm thrilled to see Keeper is getting good reviews and also glad that Double Fine is back in fine form after not releasing a game in 4 years. I miss this studio and its penchant for weirdly entertaining games. Besides Psychonauts, they made Costume Quest, Stacking, Iron Brigade and Brütal Legend!
neutral · AI labelView post →I love this game and wish they had more DLC or community maps.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had this game back when it was called Trenched on Xbox. A tower defense part shooty pew pew with world war era mechs. Fully custom loadouts from miniguns to laser beams and plenty of silly hats for your marine. A fun challenge solo or co-op, fighting hordes of odd tube creatures. Decent game but i'd always recommend buying on sale.. either way it is worth your dollars. lil mechs, big guns, foul mouthed marines, whats not to love. It's a good one every now and then. Now with even more Bear!…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well I picked up an old Xbox Live Arcade game from 2011 called Iron Brigade. I played a bunch of it back in the day, then forgot about it. It's a WW1 mecha game with tower defense mechanics. I'm only 30 minutes into it, so I have no idea if it hold up to my fond memories of it.
neutral · AI labelView post →Great gameplay and fun story with the Double Fine flavour.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cheap, fun, fully developed xbox arcade game from yesteryear that holds up well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →you destroy hoards of enemies then use their remains to upgrade automated defenses over and over again, thats it, thats the whole game, sure you unlock better weapons and automated defenses and you can customise your mech and the pilot but the core gameplay loop lasts as long as milk being left outside in summer.
