What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 176 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (1,134 of 1,300 positive).
Players praise the game's faithful adaptation of the Judge Dredd comics and its dark humor. [1][2][3] Many note the game shows its age with dated graphics, clunky controls, and technical issues on modern hardware. [4][5][6][7] Some players express a desire for a new Judge Dredd game or a remaster. [4][8][9]

The first three levels are fun, but the remaining 8 get progressively worse. A large portion of that comes down to the early enemies being humans with weapons, as they at least provide some challenge/variability. But as the game beings to increasingly introduce the undead, it all becomes a bore. At one point you'll realize that unless the game specifically states killing enemies is an objective, you can just walk …

Before I bought this on Steam, I hadn't played it in years. I used to spend hours playing Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death on my PS2 when I was a kid, and coming back to it all these years later has been a great trip down memory lane. Sure, it's dated by today's standards, but honestly, I still think it's a really fun game. There's just something satisfying about patrolling Mega-City One, deciding whether to arrest …

Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death is a gritty, unapologetically old-school first-person shooter developed and published by Rebellion, drawing directly from the bleak satire and brutal justice of the long-running 2000 AD comic series. Set in the oppressive sprawl of Mega-City One, the game places players squarely in the boots of Judge Dredd himself, embodying the role of law, order, and executioner in a society that has …

Absolute Peak PS2-era slop. Very buggy PC port and requires some mods or a hex-editor to get modern comforts like modern resolutions, aspect ratios and FOV. Gameplay wise is very halo inspired and the campaign is quite short with the arcade and story taking me 6 hours to complete. However, it is still very fun and has cool ideas. Given the time period the game was developed and this being a very "AA" game its not …

86% of the 176 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death. The complaint that keeps coming up: technical issues and bugs on modern PCs. Deal-breaker or nitpick?
Critics, per Wikipedia
The game received "mixed" reviews on all platforms according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. Some areas of complaints were weak A.I., lackluster graphics, overly bizarre character models, and simplistic gameplay. However, the game was praised for its multiplayer and arcade mode, which contains over a dozen maps and several playable characters and modes, similar to that of TimeSplitters 2. The arcade mode was also noted as being superior compared to the campaign (IGN said it "adds some spice to an otherwise boiled and blanched game"). IGN concluded, "Fans of the fiction will finally appreciate a style that keeps its faith, but will wonder how this game could have done its…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rewatched Labyrinth, and it occurred to me how different the movie would have been if Sarah had been less obsessed with her little goblin book, and more into some of the other things on her shelf, like, for example, her Judge Dredd board game.

The lawgiver for instance, a gun you can change firemodes on at will. you don't get very many options with it due to ammo shortages and will find yourself making use of the various firearms bad…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1) Many British interviewees for my RPGs and the Cold War project commented on Judge Dredd as a tangentially 'Cold War' and post-apocalyptic game. We have the Sov bloc, the Cursed Earth, all that good stuff. However, it's an odd one to try and locate within my book framework

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's pretty well known that Robocop was heavily inspired by Judge Dredd, and the Unfinished Business DLC for the game is basically a playable version of the Dredd movie. Fighting your way up a single OCP Mega-Block. I'm only 3 chapters in but it really makes me want Teyon to make a Dredd game!

It did require a couple of tweaks to get working right. I wish this game had a quicksave button, you can save when ever you like but you need to go to the main menu each time, minor gripe. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't understand how this game has such good reviews... The game simply doesn't work on modern hardware! There's a bug where it doesn't allow changing the resolution, or it crashes if you try. It's limited to running at less than 480p

neutral · AI labelView post →Short game but fun if you enjoy the comics. Always enjoyed graphics from this era and mega city one looks nice. Not too many enemy varieties. Mostly becomes a zombie shooter. After the horrors of the atomic wars redbull seems to be one of the only companies that survives, Dredd is clearly not a fan of the in game advertisement. "This rampant consumerism makes my skin crawl."
