TL;DR - NOT RECOMMENDING IT 4/10 Game is okay. Full price? NOPE. Won’t recommend it even to TRPG lovers unless the discount is good. 50% minimum. First act IS fun! The premise is great. Fights are very fun and challenging, probably the most fun Ive had in a turn based game. The economy is tight and if you mess up, can be unforgiving. Items are on rotation and more often than not, suck. Couple that with injuries on your units, having a cost to treat them and them becoming unavailable for the duration makes you think how to approach the next mission. So, the economy management has some actual …

King Arthur: Knight’s Tale reimagines the familiar Arthurian mythos as a dark, haunting, and morally tangled fantasy saga, placing you in the role of Mordred — the knight traditionally remembered as a traitor. In this version of the legend, Mordred survives the fateful battle that should have ended both his life and King Arthur’s. Instead, he is resurrected by the Lady of the Lake and commanded to finish what was …

Excellent turn-based combat game. If you are a sucker for an Arthurian tale, then it's a must buy. The story and character events are well done. It's hand-crafted maps and scripted experience don't get old after 1-2 runs because of the Religion/Ethics system and play diversity that comes with those choices. There is enough challenge for veteran strategy players on Very Hard. There is plenty of content if you fall …

78% of the 198 Steam reviewers we collected recommend King Arthur: Knight's Tale. The complaint that keeps coming up: repetitive missions and enemy variety. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

Critics, per Wikipedia

King Arthur: Knight's Tale received positive reviews on Metacritic. IGN praised the game's depiction of playing as a heavily armored knight in tactical combat, but they said that the battles eventually became repetitive and felt like filler. Eurogamer felt that the default difficulty level had all the requisite tactical options but lacked depth and challenge, making the battles seem boring. RPGFan called it "a feast with meaty tactics, a sumptuous story, and luscious visuals". RPGamer enjoyed the tactical combat, but they said the grimdark atmosphere can make the game feel oppressive and repetitive.

This game showed promise, but I gradually lost interest and eventually stopped playing. My first issue was the lack of customization for knights. I expected a mix of story-based characters and the ability to create custom ones to complete the roster. Unfortunately, all knights are tied to the story, with no customization options. I came to accept that, but then discovered the 12-knight limit. With over 30 knights available, you’re forced to dismiss some to make room for others. Even if…

First the good: The animations and look of the game is great. There are multiple gameplay systems at work, which need to be managed at the same time. The "Forge" which allows you to upgrade 2 pieces of gear every mission, as long as you have a stockpile of gems. The "Trainings Ground" which allows you to keep your roster at a competitive level. Wounds and Injuries which you need to deal with in between missions. Gear which needs to be of the current lvl tier or you will feel severely…

Do it for fun, but don't do it for game design. Because I want to be Conan and Aragorn and King Arthur, not Nigel the HEMA specialist and historical accuracy nerd

I love turn based CRPGs. Especially in medieval settings. But this game wasn't done by a smart game designer. Or level designer. - combat is repetitve even in the first hour (!) - encounter design non-existing and ranges from bad to really bad: - e.g. you walk around the (small) map and enemies pop exactly 1 field behind you.. oh boy - e.g. movement range is super short, reaching ranged enemies is painfully slow - e.g. enemies killed do stand up after again a few turns if not hit…
