What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 80 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (91 of 129 positive).
Players praise the game's music and visuals as top-notch and immersive. [1][2] Some reviewers find the rhythm and platforming integration flawed, with syncing issues. [3][4][5] A few players note the game is short but enjoyable, with a high skill cap. [6][7]

Klang is almost good. There is a good game under it, somewhere, but the amount of very significant problems will keep most people away, myself included. The amount of visual noise is mind boggling. 85% of the time, I didn't know how I died or what hit me. For example, you know you have to press a button by a cone in that direction. You know what's also a cone? An attack. They also have more or less the same colors, …

Klang! That’s the sound of electronic beats so sick you’ll need to report to a music specialist and a physician to find out why you can’t stop tapping your toes and nodding your head to the rhythm. Klang’s difficulty is absolutely brutal, but you’ll let the game pulverize you because you can’t help but love its amazing tracks and neon stylings. https://youtu.be/NhWD01nhdSY .Story. For people who like rythim games and platforming this is a beast of a mashup. Soundtrack is amazing(electronic music), the game mechanics are solid and the graphics despite looking good don't require too high specs. Kinda short, but I enjoyed every second of it. 9/10

Beautiful looking and sounding game with a high skill cap; you can beat the game in 2 hours or master it in 80. 11/10 would buy again, absolutely LOVED it! it's been almost two years now still my favorite game it's definitely got some syncing issues, but holy hell was this a one of a kind experience go play

The art style of this game is pretty amazing. The music...top notch. Even when it gets you into a trance and you're going along without really realizing it. It's as enjoyable as when I played it at PAX West. My only complaint is the levels are very short which breaks up the song. Once you get into the groove, there's a loading screen which breaks the rhythm and takes you out of the game. There's also a few syncing …

71% of the 80 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Klang. The complaint that keeps coming up: rhythm and timing often feel out of sync with music. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is the idea of the game fantastic? Absolutely! Can I recommend this exact game? No. The execution needs a lot of work (mainly heavy stuttering, which is #1 on the list of things that should NEVER happen under ANY circumstance for a rhythm game). In addition, lining up more than just the immediate next action NEEDS TO BE THERE and it's not (unless you know what to look for). E.g. in Rockband you see every single note coming at you down the track. In Klang you only see a timer for the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stylish rhythm based combat and platform game, with super cool art, great music, interesting story sequences with good variation in challenges and pacing. If you dont like this game then you are the problem, I am sorry. Will have your tapping you feet and smiling within a minute of playing. And it refuted my wife claim that I don't have any rhythm. Next, the dancefloor!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm really enjoying this game thus far! The visuals are playful and colorful, with a color palette that I have absolutely fallen in love with. The gameplay is challenging but fair, meaning that I, a person with no rythm, will have a few hiccups. But this is one of those rythm games that I can really dig, and try to get better at. Give it a go! *Longer review will be written when I have played more of it*
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: Music and visuals complement eachother nicely. Great tracks and pulsating animations ads flavor. When your combos are on a roll the envirorment goes trough several stages of color palettes making your skill progression more satisfying. The game does a great job at teaching you how to play by trial and error, all levels have multiple checkpoints. Gameplay is innovative and progressing in complexity trough the game. Every level feels unique. Boss battles are nice and ads new elements. Has…

neutral · AI labelView post →Klang is a rhythm game that dares to be different, blending rhythmic mechanics with action and platforming in a way that feels fresh and exciting. You’re not just pressing buttons to the beat—you’re dodging attacks, platforming through hazards, and reacting to patterns, all synced to a vibrant and energetic soundtrack. What sets Klang apart is how its visuals and environments pulse with the music, making every level feel alive. The color palette is stunning, and the synchronization of every…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did the music for this game (as well as the sfx) and I can say that Tom-Ivar is truly a genius. I mean, he made this game by himself, minus the sound. As a producer I wanted to share my experience. To see my sound and music come to life in this way is truly a gift to experience on my end. I got to help shape the game as well through the inspiration my music gave Tom-Ivar. This is a true collaboration of souls that vibe similarly and we hope that the game bleeds that exceptional…

neutral · AI labelView post →You know how a rhythm-based game basically makes all your body feel in sync with beats? This one just doesn't .. I expected to be trained into the rhythm like a mindless pet, instead after an hour the game still feels clumsy and I need a lot of conscious thought to even make it through basic jump-scenes. Not a fan, refunding :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game merges rhythm and platforming in a way I have never seen before. While I had fun with it at the start, there is an incredible amount of visual clutter and most of the time I had no idea why I died. I'm glad I tried it but I could not tell what I was supposed to do near the end.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the music is absolutely fantastic, but the game itself just isnt very interesting
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I found this via a small Page for us Nerds on Facebook, and i'm glad I did. It is really fun so far. A bit frustrating in the beginning, but when you get used to the controls, it's a blast. The visuals are very simplistic in a good way. It can be a bit much on the screen to catch every direction you'll need to block/Attack, but it's just a small detail. And don't forget, the music, really well composed to fit the game. If you like a great platformer/Rythm game, and good music, this is a must…

neutral · AI labelView post →From the few minutes I played, the game really poorly matches us the audio with the gameplay, which is really bad for a "rhythm game". Refunded. Good idea, poor execution.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The big dealbreaker for this game is that half the time the rhythm game element just flat out does not work. Like, "doesn't sync up properly to the music rendering the game nearly unplayable" doesn't work. There are times it does but those moments are almost exclusively when you are not doing any platforming, and surprisingly I found this happening even during the boss battles where you'd expect the most polish. At the start of the game I was going for all S ranks. I gave up on that by the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Klang is a difficult rhythm platformer developed by Tinimations and published by Snow Cannon Games. It is currently exclusive to PC. I am not the biggest fan of 2D platformers, but I do love rhythm games so I decided to accept the challenge and play through the game. Graphics Klang has an interesting visual style. Most things in the game glow with bright neon lights while the character models have some bizarre designs. I am not especially fond of this style, but I would say the visuals are…

neutral · AI labelView post →Neither the rhythm nor the platforming parts are particularly good or original, and they don't mix that well together. The game has a huge difficulty spike in its second level (as showcased in the linked video, at 8:30). Now I don't mind a good challenge, but the timing here is ridiculously hard, not enjoyable to execute (as I had runs where I felt I did everything perfectly and still couldn't make it in time to the end of the section), and it's just suddenly way too difficult as compared to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved this game, but at the same time were a few things that made it a bit frustrating and less enjoyable. -------------------------------------------------- I played the demo for Klang 2 and had a blast with it so I decided to give this one a go. The 60 Hz thing was weird on starting up the game, but whatever. I adjusted my monitor settings, not a big deal. This game has great music and is a very visually pleasing game, love the color palettes. Also loved the gameplay, very unique rhythm…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game states that its a rhythm game but many of the stages follow more of a "read and reaction" gameplay rather than keeping a beat or rhythm. If you are looking for a toe tapping beat game you'll find very little of that here.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very unique, totally recommended. Can you imagine a 2D platform/rhythm game? Well, you don't need, just play Klang.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While a creative combination Klang's two components (platforming and rhythm games) are sometimes at odds. When it works well it's a frenetic combination with appealing visuals and an aural delight, but the soundtrack can make reading a strong rhythm difficult, filtering visual input can be a real pain with the intense trippy visuals, and at its worst Klang feels like trying to simultaneously play two very different games at the same time, rather than a seamless fusion. Especially when an option…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Met the dev and composer at PAX West and they were fanstastic. You could really tell how excited they were for the game and in turn it got me SUPER EXCITED. I am so glad the game is out now for me to listen to this soundtrack all. day. long.

His arguments remain weak. Maybe the reason is money? China has been Malaysia's best trade deficit partner (and the deficits has quadrupled over the last ten years). As a 'partner' of China's Belt and Road Initiative, Malaysia also seeks investments. China’s special administrative region, Hong Kong, is Malaysia's second largest…
neutral · AI labelView post →This one is worth checking out! Music platformer with fighting mechanics, smashing buttons to the rhythm is surprisingly fun. Also platform elements where you have to jump or wall jump between platforms at the right moment made decent workout for my thumbs. Performing directional but also diagonal counters using the right stick and left stick for movement. Jumping is done with left trigger, makes me trigger happy! What I like the most about this one is that story is somehow well introduced…

neutral · AI labelView post →This game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks, once I reached the title screen my PC completely froze and eventually crashed forcing me to perform a hard reboot. I don't know why Valve lets such games become available in the store in the first place.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To call this game a rhythm game is a joke - the two levels I suffered through showed no signs of any syncing with any beats or even timing with the music that was being played. The platforming is horrendous. The controls are counter-intuitive. Also graphically, there is so much going on all the time, that it detracts from the main gameplay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful looking and sounding game with a high skill cap; you can beat the game in 2 hours or master it in 80. 11/10 would buy again, absolutely LOVED it! it's been almost two years now still my favorite game it's definitely got some syncing issues, but holy hell was this a one of a kind experience go play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The platforming is fun, as the game introduces new concepts at a regular pace to keep the action fresh. My biggest gripe is that the rhythm and the timing of the inputs sometimes feel like they don't match up - it's something I'm hoping they patch for the future. The real selling point is the soundtrack, which I would 100% recommend picking up with the game. Overall, this is a really cool indie title that is very much worth the investment.

It’s far from perfect though and mostly suffers from implementation issues that shoot itself in the leg like Cheddar Bob. Every facet will impress you, and then at the same time disappoint you. The issue is that I see this being a game you’ll either love or hate, with little to be found in the middle. The…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game becaus bLiNd is one of my favorite EDM artists. I think this game can best be summed up as a Rage-Rythm-Platformer. Imagine your right hand playing DDR and your left hand playing an action-platformer at the same time; now imagine that with rave music blasting and someone has a strobe light that is cycling colors going crazy in your face. That is what playing Klang is like. If you think that sounds cool (and it is) there are some things to consider first. I did beat the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Klang is an inventive fusion of rhythm gaming, precision platforming, and fast-paced action that refuses to settle for the traditional formula of simply pressing buttons in time with music. Developed by Tinimations and published by Snow Cannon Games, it places players in control of a tuneblade-wielding rave warrior fighting to escape the influence of Soundlord Sonus. The premise is intentionally straightforward, allowing the game to concentrate on its strongest feature: turning an electronic…

neutral · AI labelView post →Three minutes in there's an immature spike in difficulty. Things just fly at you from every direction and dogpile you. Timing cones get easily cluttered with attacks. Timing is not set to music, only enemy attack coordination. It lives up to every negative review. Funny Klang 2 has noting but positive remarks, so I'll try that next (bought em bundled.)

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game may look kind of short at first, but it really blows up when you beat the base game and unlock Nightcore mode. I swear, this game is insane when you actually get the ball rolling. Definately worth my time and money. Has at least 50 more hours for me to sink into. Getting gud at this game and learning all of the intricate timings of jumps and slides in various encounters is really fun.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the more unique games i've played ever. It's like a platformer-rythmic game set in a surreal digital EDM music world. Visuals are stunning and the athestics of the game world fits perfectly with style of gameplay. The controls are a bit iffy at first since they're designed to function with the rythmic gameplay. Once you get use to it then it becomes second nature. Had fun playing this game so far. Definitely reccomend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →rhythm game wise, not very good
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the game, but it demands a controller. Mouse and keyboard isn't precise enough. The best part is the harmony in the gameplay and music. And it's crazy hard. Unfortunately it runs slowly on my PC. 7/10 - I need a gamepad. Update: The game had some difficulties in using the dedicated GPU over the integrated one. That's the main reason it ran poorly on my system. Very fixable.
