I walked away feeling a little lighter and happier, which is no small accomplishment for a movie about death, grief, and a robot trying to understand the human heart." screenzealots.com/2026/10/22/k...

neutral · AI labelView post →Kazuo Ishiguro, the author of “Klara and the Sun” does a beautiful job of describing why it’s good for adapters to make a story their own for a film instead of trying to copy something line-for-line. *coughcough future critics of Klara film*

neutral · AI labelView post →Remember how nuts last weekend's movie roster was? This weekend brings us WILDWOOD, CLAYFACE, WICKER, A TALENT FOR MURDER, and KLARA AND THE SUN. Still playing: YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING, STREET FIGHTER, YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER, WHALEFALL, FORGOTTEN ISLAND, even a few DEVILS screens. Wow.

neutral · AI labelView post →Kazuo Ishiguro is the author of the novel “Klara and the Sun,” which has recently been adapted into a movie. The story is set in the future and is narrated by Klara, a robotic “Artificial Friend,” whose job is to be a companion to a sick teenage girl.

As a photographer and lover of light, the sun flares can have my whole dang heart. Wanting to stay in the movie world a little longer,
positive · AI labelView post →Kazuo Ishiguro (石黒 一雄). A portrait I took this time last year. When asked by Vanity Fair about the film adaptation of Klara and the Sun he described his own book as “bleak.” For the film he wanted something different: He sought out Waititi’s “kind of wacky, bordering on surreal humour." 🧵 🎥 ✍️🌅

But the damn movie ain't playing near me, frustratingly enough. 😂 Ah well. I'll catch it when it hits streaming one way or another.
positive · AI labelView post →Must admit, I found the novel Klara and The Sun rather meh, so not shocked the film is similarly so.

positive · AI labelView post →Unlike, it seems, every film critic, I rather enjoyed Klara and the Sun. Not Ishiguro’s tone at all, and certainly prone to drive some people mad, but perhaps I was in a sentimental mood

Anyway, please read Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro. And maybe watch the movie in October, but only in that order. #booksky
neutral · AI labelView post →What I don't get about the hate for Klara and the Sun is that the author was involved with the movie. Basically you're hating on Kazuo Ishiguro who has said he supports this interpretation of the story and was an executive producer.

negative · AI labelView post →Looks like I'll be the only one giving Jenna Ortega Skandies points for KLARA AND THE SUN. It's my first novel by him, I've been blown away as it's so lovely and poignant with a dash of cheekiness in regards to the human experience. So happy I started it, as I'm enjoying it more since my last two reads were disappointments. On the non-fiction side, I'm reading _Designing for the Digital Age_ by Kim Goodwin. Another title I've discovered…
