What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 54 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (61 of 62 positive).
Players praise the game's unique concept of integrating modular synthesizers into a twin-stick shooter. [1][2][3] Many find the dynamic soundtrack and sound design excellent, though some note early music can be repetitive. [4][5][6] Some reviewers express reservations about grindy gameplay and uneven difficulty. [7][8]

OMG, modular synthesizers and video games? Sign. Me. Up. What an amazing little experiment — you’re not just exploring sounds, you’re interacting with them, hands-on. Turning knobs, patching cables, discovering how modules talk to each other… It’s tactile, meditative, and honestly kind of hypnotic. As both a programmer and a musician, I ended up at the jam station almost immediately — and yeah, that’s the endgame. …

Fairly enjoyable so far, but a few critiques: - The music for the individual levels feel incredibly repetitive and short, especially when you compare the music to their counterparts in the jam station, where all 9 presets of every module are automatically unlocked for you to jam out to your heart's content. I understand that the presets start out locked in the levels for the sake of progression, but that means …

I do recommend this game with a major caveat: you gotta be here for the music. Look at this like an LMNC interactive album lol The soundtrack, most sound effects, and music-based mechanics of the game truly slap. It's a highlight. If you dig chiptune, bad puns, anti-consumerism themes, and syncopated beats then you're in the right place. However! The gameplay is lacking in many parts. Component farming is super …

I haven't finished the game yet, but I've definitely played it enough to know that it's really awesome. The concept of this game is EXTREMELY strong, and the execution is damn-near perfect. I love twin-stick shooters, I love modular synths, I love LMNC, and I love games with dynamic/interactive soundtracks. Instant buy as soon as I saw it released, and I instantly loved it. LMNC and The Bitfather really knocked it …

This game is a twinstick shooter where you use a modular synthesizer to modify your gun. Of course its fun and the gameplay loop is very addictive. The game feels very arcade-y and i mean that in the best way possible. There is plenty here for anyone that likes LMNC, but plenty for anyone that like this style of action game. Soundtrack slaps.
Summarised from 34 of the 206 public posts collected about this game; every point cites the posts behind it ([n] opens the post) and the split is counted from the posts’ own ratings. Updated Oct 13, 2026. How summaries are made
98% of the 54 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Look Mum No Computer. The complaint that keeps coming up: grindy component farming and backtracking. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

Look Mum No Computer is a star whatever the votes say, he's my type of interesting dude, a mad tinkerer of electronic bollocks & I hope it's worked for him, in that it's boosted profile and followers for his channel & gigs.

Bravo man, this is the UK at its best, open and inclusive to other cultures, blue tack, string, and very silly. On! youtu.be/niMKvJ-Itq8?...

Excited to see him rep the UK! 🇬🇧 #art #cuteart

positive · AI labelView post →I've got a lot of time for Look Mum No Computer, any MP review into his work can only mean MPs going "he's done WHAT to Furbies? How cool is that?!"
positive · AI labelView post →Look Mum No Computer's song was great, maybe not first place material, but definitely not last place either, although I'm definitely biased here, I don't understand why it scored so abysmally. Eurovision is just weird sometimes, a song that wins one year could've been a last place in another year, preferences change and are hard to predict, also politics plays a role.

neutral · AI labelView post →This is a lovingly crafted game, the aesthetic and graphics are excellent, the music is awesome, and the references to electronics and music clearly shows an expertise in those subjects. But the gameplay is just .. not good. It's grindy, uninteresting, lots of backtracking. The core gameplay of shooting enemies is just not satisfying, and having to wait for overheated modules to cool down is not interesting. The story is bad and kinda incoherent, and dialogue feels like filler from the get-go.…

Customizing the modules (weapons and passive abilities) not only for power and function but for the way they modify the sound track is a really cool touch. Bored with the soundtrack loop after a while, swap out some modules!

From the moment you dive in, it’s clear this isn’t your average rhythm title — it’s a full-blown analog adventure. 🧠 Highlights: - Visually Electric: The art style is delightfully warped — think cables, vintage synths, neon tubes, and retro CRT vibes everywhere. - Gameplay Vibes: It's creative chaos. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The #eurovision music video for #LookMumNoComputer Eins, Zwei, Drei dropped. https://youtu.be/niMKvJ-Itq8?si=hDmW8cQ_8VkANYza If you've followed Sam for any length of time, you'll probably be pleased by the video. I believe the word is "authentic". I was worried about how the hell you stage him. He's being staged by Fredrik Rydman, so I'm now honestly less concerned about that.
neutral · AI labelView post →There's also this in the last paragraph: > The most recent video on Look Mum No Computer’s YouTube channel is a clip from a concert, where he attempts to piece together a Blur song on the fly, all by himself, on a bank of ancient electronic instruments. The link goes to _Feel Good Inc_ by Gorillaz. The title says Gorillaz too. I mean, sure, Damon Albarn is in both of them, but if he knew that in order to make the Blur connection then it only makes it weirder to mix them up

Check out Look Mum No Computer on YouTube in case you are confused at what the hands are doing on the assembly mat. This twin-stick shooter has a great difficulty curve. After 14 hours (and not even 50% done), I can say that the game isn't designed to do every scenario in one go.
