Lost Horizon is not innovative, but what it does, it does really well: It provides a 12 hour long, action-rich and not complex point and click adventure game with a captivating cinematic style. This was truly one of the best real adventure games I've ever played. It's super cozy, great characters, lots of good dialog, tons of amazing locations, always puzzles to solve but everything seems to make sense. It's got a bit of the Monkey Island elements tossed in, where some of the objects and puzzles will drive you nuts while others are easy. A pretty decent mix or easy and challenging. Lost Horizon was a entertaining point and click adventure game that didn't disappoint. I do have a few cons for this game, but I think they are relatively minor. Pros: - Multiple settings throughout the game. You're in so many different environments, and they are all drawn beautifully. The game is broken up into chapters, and each chapter has a different look and feel to it. - The story was interesting enough to keep me amused. Shambhala isn't exactly a new concept in video games, but I never…

Indiana Jones, meets Broken Sword with a dash of film noirish British charm.... and you know its pretty good! If you pick this up I highly reccomend before commiting to major actions -puzzle solutions- SAVE OFTEN...it has a propensity to crsh loading cut scenes and since auto save only happens when you close down the game proper this will be an annoyance. That said, I felt the length was good the puzzles were mostly very simple even the few that give you a "hard mode" option... The voice…

It is a rather decent point&click, and the graphics are awesome. Don't expect much in the story department, as it is not very original, but it is well made, and it is definately not bad. Some of the puzzles are try-all-combos. The characters are rather bland, but all in all, Lost Horizon is well made on all accounts. It is not superb, but it is good. Good graphics, excellent animation, decent voice-acting, and decent puzzles for the most parts.

This is a somewhat slight, but decent enough adventure game. It didn’t wow me, but made for an entertaining few hours. I had been looking for a lightish game to play in the late evenings to relax, something with a decent story but not too heavy gameplay. This seem to fit the bill. Gameplay wise it is your standard point and click adventure, click to interact with objectives, combine items or use them on objects in the world. Some of the puzzles seem somewhat complex for the sake of it,…

I've been meaning to make a review of this gem for some time, though I must make it clear that my Steam play time bears no indication as to the amount of time I’ve actually spent on it; my experience deriving from the physical copy of the game. Insofar as the WWII era and the Tibetan locations upon which the game is set, Lost Horizon is roughly based on James Hilton's novel of the same name though here represented by Fenton Paddock - a former British military officer who's been tasked with…

tl;dr: fairly traditional, quality point-and-click adventure game, 11 hours to beat with a single peek at a walkthrough. one annoying section, interesting extras. A different series by the devs behind Secret Files, a series of above average point-and-click adventure games. This one is a little more traditional than SF3. It took me about 11 hours to beat, with minimum assistance. It generally didn't take me long to figure out what is expected of me and how to achieve it, though in one instance…

Fun, entertaining, and witty! Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys adventure games, but especially if you're looking for a British Indiana Jones-style get-away from real life. The voice acting was outstanding, the puzzles were moderately challenging but usually logical (as much as adventure games can be), and the cinematic feel was top-notch. Despite being over a decade old, I had no problems running the game, and the only glitch was a *very* minor occasional stutter in the voice track…

Introduction In 2010, German Adventure-developer Animation Arts decided to let Nina Kalenkow and Max Gruber from "Secret Files" take a long needed vacation and start a new IP, based on classic Adventure movies and the Indiana-Jones-Games of Lucas Arts fame. The game took around three years to develop and was released to critical and commercial success. A sequel, "Lost Horizon 2", that unfortunately couldn't duplicate the success was released in 2015. Story We start in the vibrant city…

Lost Horizon is an Indiana Jones-esque point and click adventure game. Unfortunately, it's showing its age, in more ways than one. The game is guilty of some of the worst sins of the genre - dream logic puzzles and pixel hunt game play. While I generally enjoyed the plot and characters (some truly eye-rolling earnestness involving morphogenetic fields notwithstanding), they couldn't quite make up for sections where it felt like the game was deliberately wasting my time. A point & click game that has been blatantly ripped off from Indiana Jones. However, that being said, it was still a tom of fun. One of the best examples of why I enjoy point & click games so much. If you're interested in trying a P&C, this is one with light to medium difficulty puzzles, with a handful of harder ones thrown in. An excellent starter game with a fun storyline as a bonus. It reminds me a little bit of the Broken Sword series, in all the best ways and not a goat puzzle way.

I quite liked the game. Playing it in 2020, it obviously feels dated, but it's ok for me - gets more of that "Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis" vibe (but with more reasonable graphics). The game isn't overly difficult and in result flows nicely - I was invested in the story instead of thinking hard about a particular puzzle. The characters are quite likeable and the story line, although somewhat generic, still interesting. Got it in a bundle, but would recommend buying for the full price.

Lost Horizon is a retro point and click style adventure (think Monkey Island or the Sierra games). The problem is that it doesn't properly run on modern systems (although it's just 8 years old). A bit of context: I run an adventure games curator that rates adventure games based on the amount of moon-logic necessary to complete them. (https://store.steampowered.com/curator/11309362/ - follows appreciated!) But I'm giving Lost Horizon a fuller review here because, while I think people are right to hate moon logic and to judge adventures on that basis, I don't think it's the fairest metric for Lost Horizon, a game with fun characters and a world-spanning pulp adventure vibe that also…

Setting is a blend of exotic and romantic countries from the 1930's borrowing heavily from Raiders of the Lost Ark (of which they are completely aware as they sub-reference it in more than one place - I GET it - no time period is quite as adventurous with an air of sophistication yet it's before we all got complacent). If you enjoy the Uncharted series on Playstation but prefer a milder, more casual experience with all thrills intact, Lost Horizon is a fantastic choice.
