Players widely agree Lume is very short, often calling it a demo or prologue. [1][2][3] Many praise the handcrafted papercraft visuals as beautiful and charming. [4][5][6] Some find the puzzles frustratingly difficult or unintuitive. [7][8][9]

Short version: 53% Not even the imaginative art style and the fun (albeit vague) puzzles can mask the sad truth is that Lume is nothing more but a half-hour demo with a hefty price tag for its length. First off: this is a game about the aesthetic. The hand-made set and camera moves makes this game among the prettiest I've ever played. It's also super short, serving as a taster for the upcoming Lumino City, made in the same handcrafted way - I personally can't wait to explore a bigger world that's this beautiful. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥: - It sucks that the resolution is so low. It takes away from the awesomeness of the visuals, …

I cannot recommend this game. There are insanely hard puzzles, so I had to use a guide for some puzzles, as the clues for them were confusing and frustrating, and I felt I was just wasting my time trying to solve them. The game is not complete, as they state in the end (Lumino City is the complete game now, so this game is like a prequel to the main game), so I'd only try getting this if it' part of a bundle. Pros: …

Point-and-click puzzle game with a unique and good-looking art-style. It is sadly too short (I completed it in around an hour), and is basically episode one (wich they mention at the end) of an apparently longer series. My guess is that the sequel is Luminose city. I can't recommend a game that feels like a demo.

while i enjoyed lume, i would have trouble paying money for it. the art style and animations are excellent, and i could happily spend some time in the world of lume. while it would have been nice to add a what-am-i-looking-at indication somewhere other than the cursor changing to a hand when you can interact with something, the interface was easy to use and never really got in the way. the main problem is there just …

neutral · AI labelView post →Happy shipaverssary to Lume and Aymeric. Four years ago I met him in game & I knew that I had to ship with him. It was also the birth of Lume as a legitimate OC & the beginning of my journey with her & them as a couple. Here’s to more years 🫶💕 + #lumeriaart | #ffxivart | #wolmeric | #lumeric
neutral · AI labelView post →If it wasn’t for FFXIV being so welcoming of OCs and OC x NPC ships, I would’ve never created Lume, my first OC. I’m forever grateful that my wife convinced me to play this game. Now I have my comfort ship with Aymeric, I met so many great people & it’s been a boost for my creativity 🫶💕

neutral · AI labelView post →CW: mention of SA. I wanted to add one more thing. It’s very tiring when people come up to me thinking I’m going to put out because I’m a Miqo’te & get pushy when I tell them no. Lume has been SA’d in game before & that ruined my entire week. That’s why I hide in empty zones, my house or Ishgard.

neutral · AI labelView post →Lume exists because of Aymeric. I had been playing the game without much attachment up until the first meeting with him & it was love at first sight. The only hope you have of seeing your grandfather again is to solve these puzzles and get the power working again. Lume is a point and click puzzle game. Each puzzle is masterfully done, adding layer upon layer. Its not just typical puzzles, but these are puzzles are off kilter. A is E, a triangle is 3, north is north east sort of off kilter. There are cryptic clues are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lume began as a self insert because I wasn’t committed to the game until I met Aymeric. After that, she’s become more like my shard: she has parts of me, but is not me, she’s her own character. Therefore whenever I RP as her, it’s her experiencing things, not me.
neutral · AI labelView post →Been a fanfic reader since 2000, didn’t start writing fanfic until 2022, when #lumeric was created when I was 36 yrs old. If it wasn’t for the fateful day that I met Aymeric in game, I wouldn’t even be here. Lume became my first OC because of him & I’m not stopping anytime soon. +
neutral · AI labelView post →Akdkdjskks so true. I came in 3 months after EW was released and played all the expansions in 6 months back in 2022, now I rarely play the game & just create for Lume and Aymeric. It’s not my fault that Aymeric is not part of the main cast ;-;
neutral · AI labelView post →I’ve answered this one before & it’s always a ??? because Lume wouldn’t be herself if it wasn’t for Aymeric & considering that he’s the reason why I didn’t quit the game back in ARR, I don’t know that I would’ve met the rest of the cast. Do any of you see her being compatible with someone else?
neutral · AI labelView post →I want those hairstyles in game! I would love Lume to wear it (the left one).

neutral · AI labelView post →If you want to try this game, I would suggest you to skip this and go straight for "Lumino City". Lume feels like it's but only a short demo for "Lumino City". The art style is no doubt a great beauty but... definitely over priced for such a short and incomplete game. (My play time is 2.5 hrs due to save file problems) My save file disappeared and I had to replay from scratch. This appears to be a common problem posted in the forums. (Seems to be related to clearing browser cache) But no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Back in 2011, this flash game was really interesting but short, I remember getting it free somewhere. It was a cool 15 minutes long game, with some small minigames and little to no plot, It was promising but - over the years those devs made 3 other games and no continuation for this one, obviously this means that this is a complete project, abandoned by devs. This game is very overpriced for what it is, even when you start the game and press ESC you can see that flashplayer lol. You can see…

This is a nice little point and click adventure game with a beautiful visual style and interesting puzzles. Although, with that said, it's very important to mention that this is almost an introduction/demo into the world and the style of the game. This would definitely not pass as a full length game. I am yet to play Lumino City, it has great reviews and i'm willing to bet that you skipping…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don’t think people realize that if anything happens to Aymeric and/or their kids, it’s game over for the entire universe. Lume would go full on Homura.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't believe how deeply this little web project has its hooks in me. I've been playing with Lume and Typescript and have somehow ended up with something that looks to be a narrative, and possibly game-shaped in some ways?
positive · AI labelView post →+ Charming little and short point and click, with papercraft design. Prequel to Lumino City. - Game is on flash player. Very short.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disappointed. Overall this game is not bad, but the puzzles are extremely difficult and the gameplay is entirely too short for the $7 they are charging. I purchased this game on sale for $3, and I still don't think that amount of money was worth it. If this game were $1 or less, I would be writing a much more positive review. If you love point and clicks with great artwork like I do, then you'll find this game to be just ok. Instead of this game, I would recommend the game "Tiny Bang Story". I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lume is a very short yet very well executed adventure game. The graphics are original, supposedly made entirely of cardboard, and the puzzles aren't too difficult to turn people away. You are a little girl looking for her grandfather and you have to figure out how to turn on the lights in order to find him. Very cute little game, though very very short. A sequel was just released recently, and I hope that when the price is right that I will get that in order to see the story continue.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh I have a long list of incidents, some people take my genuine friendliness & friendship to mean they can push their fantasies on me. neutral · AI labelView post →I would only suggest getting Lume if you are particularly interested in curating a personal collection of interesting artistic endeavors. If you want a game to actually play, watch a Let's Play of this to get the prologue to Lumino City, and play that instead. Don't get me wrong, the art and music direction are fantastic. But the actual gameplay is a perfect encapsulation of everything that goes wrong in adventure games: pixel hunting, moon logic, and terribly written hints that only make you…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very pretty and short point and click adventure game, almost worth buying just for the graphical style. Except that its puzzles are super unintuitive, there's no game-internal hint system and the story doesn't go anywhere. Cute, but ultimately not worth your time.
