positive · AI labelView post →Saw a post about how Stanley Kubrick said Eraserhead was his favorite film and someone commented “that’s surprising.” No, that isn’t surprising. It would be surprising if Stanley Kubrick’s favorite film was Mannequin 2: On the Move.

neutral · AI labelView post →It's always funny to me that films like this are described as "twisted" when it comes to a woman finding a non-human love interest when Mannequin (film) and Pygmalion (myth) exist. (Mind you, this one is also literally twisted, because look at that beautiful wickerwork twisting in the features)

neutral · AI labelView post →I remember the first openly gay character I ever saw depicted in fiction: Hollywood Montrose in the movie Mannequin. Hollywood was a flamboyant effeminate gay black man working as a window display dresser for a department store.

We are only shown either of them being into dudes. For the first few minutes I just assumed Stewart and Shawkat were a couple!

neutral · AI labelView post →People on Twitter are trying to say that everyone liked “Episode One: The Phantom Menace” when it first came out? Seriously? Few movies were *roasted* the way that movie was. Jar Jar Binks and “Mannequin” Skywalker were relentlessly slammed. People mocked the uneventful 15-minute pod race.

neutral · AI labelView post →Andrew McCarthy liked my comment. At first, I thought it was a fan account, but it's really him! I saw a TikTok talking about the movie Mannequin (1987) starring him and Kim Cottrell. So I commented: "This is so Pygmalion coded, but there was no Google so they didn't know"
neutral · AI labelView post →These look like they could be from the movie The Mannequin from 1987
neutral · AI labelView post →Watching every movie released in 1987: Mannequin Classic 80s movie set in a department store and everything feels like it is from a bygone era now. 2nd movie of the year from Kim Cattrall, she was really at the top of her game in 1987.
positive · AI labelView post →Not enough movies have live band performances in them anymore. The Wrong Girls has one from Mannequin Pussy. It’s also a pretty fun stoner comedy.
neutral · AI labelView post →Was that around the same time as the movie Mannequin, 1987? In which a Mannequin comes to life. Good movie!
positive · AI labelView post →Two guesses I have are A-ha "Take on Me" or "Nothing's Going to Stop Us Now" from Starship and the movie Mannequin.

neutral · AI labelView post →I vaguely remember discussion about Mannequin, too. Was that you guys? If not, you gotta do that one! Crazy movie & premise but amazingly progressive.
neutral · AI labelView post →I watched Mannequin because it's a shit film that I quite like. You can see it has a case of quite-good-actors-with-very-little-material--to-work-with. So you have James Spader really hamming it up because his character is so dull and one dimensional. But Kim Catrall and the other guy do go well together and they make the movie worth watching. It's not so much great on-screen chemistry, it's just that they play their parts well. #Movies #Mannequin
