Never in my wildest imagination did I believe there would be a park simulation game based on the 1996 film cult classic Mars Attacks. Even stranger is how well it embodies the long past days of management games from the 1990's and 2000's such as Theme Hospital and Zoo Tycoon. The game succeeds in not being so complicated as to bog the player down but neither is it so simple that it bores the player. The result? An …

Didn’t think I’d get into this one, but it hooked me fast. For an Early Access title it already feels surprisingly solid - enough stuff to play around with and lose track of time. It’s easy to figure out the basics, but the more you play the more you realize there’s actually a lot to think about if you want to run things well. Messing with humans to unlock perks and decorations is both messed up and super fun. Can …

Right now it is not worth it. Very unpolished, rough, the tutorial text is very annoying, the animation is lack lustre at best, very limited sound effects. No this should have waiting before early access. Wait until this game was more done. I really hate companies that do this and players who promote this too early development. I do hope this game does get better, but it's right now, I'd say in early Alpha stage so I'd wait a while before you get this game to give the developers more time…

Unfortunately, despite really loving the concept it's just not balanced for fun. Perhaps it's because I'm coming off the two-point franchise, but between lacking quality of life and frustrating difficulty spikes, I just can't say it's GOOD yet. Still, I'll say pick up a copy just to support the devs all the same. I can't really think of something that conceptually grabbed me half as well as this did and if it can expand on the concept and add more engaging gameplay elements I think I'll be…

I really wanted to like Mars Attracts, but right now it just isn’t there yet. The idea is genuinely interesting, a Mars Attacks-style park builder where you run a “human zoo” sounds unique and fun. And to be fair, the theme and humor do land. There is a good game hiding underneath all of this. The problem is the execution. The UI and controls feel clunky and unintuitive, especially when you’re trying to manage your park efficiently. Simple actions can become frustrating, and it ends up…

I was a little skeptical going in. At first if feels really underbaked. Like you're building cubes of concrete to hold Greco-Roman peasants licking hamster water drippers. Human zoos are cheap and gaudy peep shows. it is all really square and angular and it's impossible to make anything that looks better than baby's first zoo tycoon. this is intentional, it's old school campaign driven where you have to unlock pretty much everything. Where it goes from there is hard to describe and I honestly…

Just to get the big caveat out the way first - this is an early access game and at the time of writing there's still quite a lot to be added, but it has so much potential it's worth buying in early (and buy the Supporter's Edition - it's not much extra and worth it for the Featurette if you want to get to know the devs and their plans for it). I'm betting that Mars Attracts will become a big sleeper hit. It is licenced (impressive for an indie studio) and it's got all the dark humour of the…

While still in a bit of early access with animations and some mechanics, it has the addictive aspects of a good Dungeon-Keeper style management sim with the Mars Attacks humor that fans like myself have come to love. So much is oriented around keeping, torturing, abducting, and dissecting humans that the park aspect kind of comes as part of your work pulling humans and doing things for the amusement of all of your park goers. Martians even have a 'cruelty' rating where they find enjoyment out…

Being of a certain age, I remember the cards when I was a kid. So I loved the video game and the cult movie. I'm also a big fan of coaster park games. This a match in Heaven. Many different time eras to play with, different shops, and a bunch of decorations. Just be carful and don't let the humans kill each other. It's more fun to watch them being tortured.

I quite enjoyed the nearly 20 hours i'v put in already (more like close to 12 but i'll get to that) and figured a review was justified. Mars Attracts is a theme park/zoo management that at least in my personal opinion heavily resembles the Theme Park World from the PS1 era in both gameplay and progression on the main campaign but the setting is very obviously different and there is a zoo aspect to it, this combination is what first got me interested in the game and i am glad i gave it a chance…

The game has a negative economic feed back loop. angry humans need to be pacified so they don't destroy enclosure and kill janitors. You can't make the human happy and just waste money rebuilding amenities and spending money to replace janitors. Also sandbox only includes tier unlocks that you get in a campaign. No unlock all to learn the game. The latest patch made the humans impossible to pacify. It's a frustrating mess of spending all money to fix an enclosure and you are unable to…

TLDR; An incredibly cool idea that isn't very well executed. There isn't really any challenge. Money machine go brrrRRRrr. Rinse and repeat for all scenario levels. Each scenario exposes you to a new feature, but you have to start from scratch every time which gets mildly tedious. There are no unique restrictions or rules between the scenarios and the maps themselves barely change. One of the core mechanics of the game is hiring security and dealing with humans escaping, but I played…

Already a very robust game while in early access, Mars Attracts answers the question nobody was asking: what if Zoo Tycoon was Mars Attacks themed? As with many early access games, you are bound to run into a few bugs, but the dev team is very responsive to bug reports and is actively patching the game. I've already sunk several hours in, most of them in the very early stages of early access, and as of March 2026, the game is feeling so much more fleshed out. Can't wait to see where things go…

There are a few bugs when it comes to tasks which I had emailed the devs about and options within Kiosks and rides are a little thin on the ground at present - however decoration wise its spot on as well as choice of roads and ground flooring types.
