Nintendo movies... and fantasy shows... and the fact that Link is a silent protagonist (aside of basically grunts and exclamations of various emotional tones)... I really don't see any possible way this could be good. Brought to you by the director of 'Maze Runner', which currently has ~66% critic and user review score on Rotten Tomatoes.

neutral · AI labelView post →As The Legend of Zelda movie wraps filming, its cinematographer has shared a new look at Link. Gyula Pados worked as director of photography on two of the Maze Runner films, which were helmed by Zelda director Wes Ball. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/as-the-...
neutral · AI labelView post →The live-action Zelda movie has finished filming and will be in post-production for about a year (see you in 2027!). From Wes Ball (Maze Runner, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), Sony, and Nintendo overseeing a large part of the production and cost.🏺 Link: news.denfaminicogamer.jp/news/2604142d
neutral · AI labelView post →I do think Maze Runner is a largely slept on book/movie series and it always kinda confused me I think people mentally lump it in with Divergence (good books terrible movies), or thought it was cheap compared to The Hunger Games? Anyways the last movie was eh compared to the books, but fun stuff!

neutral · AI labelView post →Got roped into watching the Maze Runner films today... Well, re-watching. Stylistically they're not too bad really, and the acting isn't bad either. I think each film feels a bit one-dimensional, like there's something it's missing in some way.
neutral · AI labelView post →Watched the last Maze Runner film on a whim cos I’ve never seen it. Oh my god, if your mate is gonna turn into a rage zombie maybe take away his weapons?? And carry him ffs Thomas Brodie-Sangster is NOT heavy. And just JUMP you daft woman. Still enjoyed it though.
positive · AI labelView post →I recently did a rematch of the original films and it's interesting how they largely hold up. I can't imagine trying to sit through a Divergent or Maze Runner movie now, unless it was for a piece about the ambient cultural waters of the Obama years.
negative · AI labelView post →The problem with trying to adapt Zelda is that it’s first and foremost a video game franchise so once you strip away the interactivity all you’re left with is pretty generic fantasy writing. And the writers for this film include the guy who made The Rise of Skywalker and the Maze Runner so…
neutral · AI labelView post →It's surprising how many relatively recent movies were upscaled to 4K rather than natively shot in that quality. While it's something I'd expect for movies from the early 2000s, having neither the benefit of rescannable film reels nor high quality digital cameras, it doesn't make sense for more recent film series such as Maze Runner, The Hunger Games, Now You See Me, Divergent, and Jurassic World, among others. Especially odd is that some of those series have one movie natively shot in 4K…

neutral · AI labelView post →I don't think a Zelda movie produced by Avi Arad and made by the director of The Maze Runner and the weakest modern Apes installment is gonna be good, guys...
neutral · AI labelView post →Tonight at a neighborhood event, inexplicably, the movie "The Maze Runner" came up &I said, I thought uncontroversially, "that's based on a kids book" & suddenly I found myself having to fight my way out of the room like I'm John Wick against people saying "it's YA! That's different! It's not kids!"
neutral · AI labelView post →Given what I hear about Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, I think Zelda is in good hands anyway and well, my fault prior to that movie, I just dismissed him as The Maze Runner guy.

I think the movie was a good movie in terms of the movie format, having to fit everything into a shorter medium. It was fine, and I am excited to watch The Scorch Trials. HOWEVER. I absolutely love the book series and by god did
neutral · AI labelView post →Big missed opportunity in the third Maze Runner movie to have the protagonists do the chase/fight scenes in the med building using maze running skills. Where's all the parkour leaps from stairs and slides through closing bulkheads? Instead they're going toe to toe in shootouts like they just forgot!

negative · AI labelView post →Learning today that the Zelda Movie coming out is lowkey an IDF movie is killing me. What the fuck do you mean Avi Arad is producing, the director of the Maze Runner Trilogy is on it, and has the director of photography for those really bad Jumanji movies with the Rock.
neutral · AI labelView post →The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials I've NEVER seen a movie adaptation adapted so poorly. I actually read the books and was a fan a year or so before the movies started, and my fucking god they took everything bonkers and unique and fun about the book and replaced it with a generic post apocalypse.
negative · AI labelView post →They should stick to writing knock-offs of "The Hunger Games" or "The Maze Runner." Or have those "Jewish Space Lasers From Italy" (great title for a sci-fi movie, eh?) burned out what little brains God gave them?

negative · AI labelView post →(It also makes sense given the Wes Ball's directorial experience with younger actors in the Maze Runner series, which I feel is more indicative of what Nintendo is aiming for with this particular film)

neutral · AI labelView post →@wesball.bsky.social My buddies and I did a movie night of the Maze Runner series recently and I just had a question. How much has your process evolved from the Maze Runner and its 2 sequels up to now with Kingdom and beyond? Has it been more creatively, or efficiency with cost and such?
