Players find Mega Mosaic a relaxing and addictive puzzle game, ideal for unwinding. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note it lacks quality-of-life features found in later games by the same developer. [1][4][5] Several players warn that the single large grid can make progress feel slow and frustrating. [6][7][4]

Don't get me wrong, I love Proverbs and 2024: Mosaic Retrospective. Mosaic of the Pharaohs is installed and ready, and I have Mosaic of the Strange wishlisted. But this game? This game has one very unfortunate design decision that Proverbs fixed, and it is infinitely more frustrating for it. In all the games after this one, each region of the mosaic is a self-contained puzzle. In this one, it's all one big puzzle... …

Another mellow Mark Ffrench puzzle game that's a satisfying combination of sudoku, minesweeper, and nonagrams. Fantastic puzzler to keep your mind busy while listening to something or talking to friends.

Very relaxing puzzle game that you can sink a lot of hours into. It's hard to get stuck as the hint system is very helpful in finding areas you can focus on, which I appreciated. If you're not sure you'd enjoy this, the dev has a free puzzle game that I would recommend you try, 2024: Mosaic Retrospective, which would give you an idea of how the puzzle works. However - compared to the free offering of 2024 or some of …

I do not recommend this to first timers checking out the developers mosaic games, but I do recommend it overall if you've played some of the others and enjoyed them. This one is a bit more difficult in terms of feeling like you are making progress. Because each area is not a separate finite constrained areas but effectively all one larger puzzle that just fills in with images when you complete the white sectioned …

Mega Mosaic is a relaxing and addictive puzzle game that’s perfect for unwinding. Slowly revealing the full mosaic is very satisfying, and the gameplay is simple but engaging — especially if you enjoy logic puzzles similar to Minesweeper. It can be a bit repetitive and time-consuming, but if you’re looking for a calm, methodical game to play at your own pace, this is a great choice.

91% of the 185 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Mega Mosaic. The complaint that keeps coming up: lacks QoL features present in later games. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fellow Neurodivergents and Hyperfousers beware that since this one isn't actually divided into sections there are no good stopping points. My mind is finally at peace now that it's complete.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some more comfort games: - Powerwash/Escape Simulator - Jigsaw Puzzle Dreams - Final Profit: A Shop RPG - Mega Mosaic/Proverbs - Littlewood - Etrian Odyssey series - Dysmantle - House Flipper - Arcade Paradise - Islands of Insight (note: may want to find a fan patch) - Soul Blazer(yes the SNES game)
neutral · AI labelView post →Puzzle isn't very good. It's one puzzle of multiple separate images, which isn't very satisfying. The games after this are better because they're several separate puzzles that form a whole, which is much less tedious. The replay is too fast. Slow it down!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was harder for me to enjoy after playing this developers newer installments first. The later additions are vastly superior. However, that's not a negative of this puzzle, but a testament to to the developer's talent and quality of the later additions. The jump from this to Proverbs is exceptional. I'm excited for his future work and plan to buy them all day one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brief sum up. Mega Mosaic is a satisfying puzzle, played in a single huge grid, a highly recommended variation of the classic minesweeper with a quite different flavour. Review written after having played 100% of the game, for 96h 30m. About one hour per 1%. Gameplay: It's just a small variation of Minesweeper. For those too young to not have tried it, it's a simple puzzle game. It's played on a grid covered with square tiles. You can click on a tile to uncover what's beneath, and if it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Low-challenge busywork to do while listening to podcasts. 39h for 100% completion
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple puzzle concept that doesn't require too much focus - great for those times when you want to kill a bit of time with a game but don't have much brain power left after a draining day.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is not much to say about this game, is really what you see, a giant minesweeper board. The only noticeable change is that the middle box of a 3x3 also counts so you will see zeros and nines which don't happen on a regular minesweeper gamer. In short words, if you like minesweeper then you will like this game, if you have never played it or are unsure, then I suggest looking into the original minesweeper before committing to this game as it takes many hours, although I would like to point…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm glad she likes my game! Proverbs is great too. There are a lot of other Mega Mosaic games by the same developer.
neutral · AI labelView post →If you like these number pattern puzzles, it's good. I play a little bit each day, slowly filling in the sections.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mega Mosaic was enormous. The mechanics are identical to Ffrench's other Mosiac games. Kinda mindless once you get into the flow of pattern matching. Art was nice but much less interesting than Proverbs. Heavy use of the Hint button when progression felt stuck, often far from where I was working. Achievements were consistent (the "Nice" achievement was appreciated), motivating, and unaffected by errors or hints.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I picked up Mark Ffrench & Divide The Plunder's 2024 retrospective game (free!!) first, then Proverbs, and now Mega Mosaic. I love picross/pictograph games from the DS and Switch days. It's funny that this game is easily the worst of the three that I've played from Mark, but not in a "this sucks" way, but more that it's super clear with each entry that I go back and play through that Mark has clearly improved the puzzle crafting and presentation SO much with each new entry. This is the worst of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't be certain how much the game has changed from its earlier state when folks were asking for some QOL features, but I do know that Mega Mosaic walked so that Proverbs could fly. I bought this game after enjoying Proverbs as much as I did, and this is a definite recommend, though I don't think enjoying proverbs will necessarily indicate enjoyment here. Lack of a coherent theme + logically connected sections (that is, the borders of the sections don't divide the squares from each other)…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A puzzle game you simply cannot step away from until you realize you've already spent hours playing. The core mechanic is easy to understand because all you have to do is color squares according to the rules. Some tiles within the grid contain numbers, while the rest have to be solved through logic. Each number tells you how many tiles in the surrounding 3 by 3 area, including the numbered tile itself, need to be colored with the light color. The easiest numbers to solve are 0 and 9. A number…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one is MUCH slower and harder to find the path forwards so maybe start with proverbs or the egypt one if you're just beginning. They're very satisfying though. Not difficult in the slightest, but mentally stimulating. I like this series a lot :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Minesweeper but with an entirely new flow. Refreshing and addictive. Highly recommend for those tired of the predictability of standard number puzzles but not looking for a headache.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slightly worse version of Proverbs, but still worth playing if you like puzzles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Of the couple of these that I played this one seemed to be more difficult. Fun puzzle game, similar to Picross/Nonograms, or as I described to my wife, Minesweeper with no bombs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great for audiobooks
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mega Mosaic is a simple visual logic puzzle scaled to enormous size. It took me ~25 hours to complete, playing it off and on over a few months. While the simple style would seem to lend itself to a brief review, I have some thoughts about the pros and cons of this game. This is the 2nd game of this style that I've played. The first was a free game by the same developer, Mark Ffrench, called "2024: Mosaic Retrospective." Mark has released two subsequent games in the loose series - "Proverbs"…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I started out with the free game, 2024 Mosaic Retrospective. I liked it a lot, and this game was really cheap, so I bought it. The way this one works is a bit different, and for the worse in my opinion. The sub-sections don't have hard barriers around them, and that makes it harder for me to find the solvable clues. Progress is much slower, and uncovering completed images is taking way longer. I've played for almost 2 hours and only revealed one completed section. That said, the gameplay is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, I didn't expect this game to be so addicting. When I bought the game and started playing, hours flew by without me noticing. I waited for a sale to get this game, but this is one of the rare cases where if I knew how enjoyable it was I would have gotten it sooner at full price. If you like minesweeper, you'll love this game. Put on your favorite audio book or podcast and enjoy many, many hours of puzzle solving goodness.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What if you could play Minesweeper and not have to start over if you accidentally zone out and misclick? What if the board were humongous? If the idea of that appeals to you, pick up this game. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the worst of this dev's mosaic games by far. Play any of the others instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't underestimate the fact it's just one big level. It is truly big.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Did i finish the game? Yes. Did it take me twice the time to beat it over Proverbs? Yes. Would I recommend Mega Mosaic (before or) after playing Proverbs? No. It's the same format, but to be honest the real problem, is hunting down places you can start solving the puzzles. In the last 20 hours of my play through, i just started getting tired of hunting for spots to solve and I kept hitting the hint button to zoom to the next spot I could logically solve. It's still a fun concept, but it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At 7.9 hours I just hit 10% complete. This is a big operation. I was never great at Minesweeper and had to relearn it. This also isn't *that* much like Minesweeper, even though the math is the same; because there's no danger, and you're almost always working with both large and small numbers. Small white numbers and large blue numbers are essentially the same problem in reverse: Sometimes you're glad to see an 8 because you only need to rule out one square, and so on. The music is the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have a confession to make, I never knew how to play minesweeper games. I tried understanding the rules briefly but it always looked so complicated. This game is based on those rules to fill a massive collage full of pictures. There are thousands of numbers to figure out and there are multiple percentage stats to keep you updated on how far you are. Even though the start was slow because I was trying to understand the logic, it was a great way to help me figure it out. The game became super…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mega Mosaic is a Minesweeper-esque puzzler where the gimmick is that you are working on one giant grid. As you complete segments they are replaced with pixel art that ends up forming a colorful mosaic. I enjoy chill puzzle games like this, particularly when there is a set goal and a s good sense of progression. Interestingly enough, I found the greatest sense of progression came from feeling myself get a deeper understanding of the game's mechanics and becoming better able to infer which…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you like minesweeper, you will like this. 40-50 hours worth of calm gameplay
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game makes me feel like I'm clocking on to my Innie's shift in Severance in such a good way. The numbers make me feel happy, and my thoughts go away.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I genuinely think I bounced off of this because the color palette is unpleasant to look at for an extended period of time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Who needs hints when you can suffer?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The "how to play" screen needs more instructions. The "tutorial" is very unhelpful.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Games That Have Been Beaten in 2025: #41 - Mega Mosaic (Steam) Pretty fun to finish another mosaic puzzle game. This might be the last game I beat this year, but if I manage to finish another short game or so, then you'll see another post after this one. If not, then you'll see the spreadsheet next
positive · AI labelView post →I can stop anytime.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyable puzzle game with a single large level that is arbitrarily divided into smaller segments. It's somewhat disappointing that the images in the segments don't follow a general theme or don't make up a single picture.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mega Mosaic, developed by Mark Ffrench and published by Divide The Plunder, is a deceptively simple yet deeply satisfying puzzle game that combines the logic-based tension of Minesweeper with the slow, meditative pleasure of pixel art creation. At its core lies a single massive puzzle — a 250 by 250 grid — that the player must solve piece by piece to reveal an intricate hidden image beneath. This enormous mosaic serves not just as the game’s central challenge but as its overarching metaphor:…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game #44 finished in 2025, Mega Mosaic. I'm caught up on this series now until the next one releases in a couple of weeks. Perfect games to play while watching or listening to podcasts. Kind of like Minesweeper, but they reveal murals as you complete sections.
positive · AI labelView post →Happy Friday! What's everyone playing? ● Borderlands ● Grimshire ● Mega Mosaic I'm also playing through an upcoming game for review. Canceled GamePass & PS+, so maybe I can focus more on my actual backlog.
neutral · AI labelView post →Unlike the other games from this dev, this is kinda just. One really large puzzle, which, I honestly prefer? It's harder for it but I don't really mind that. Fun to open up when I want to keep my hands and brain busy while watching a video or listening to music, which is what I use it for, got it on sale but it's pretty cheap to begin with, it's just. Chill puzzlin'.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like a never-ending puzzle, except it eventually ends, as all things do. How sad, how jubilant, how sublime. Also it's five bucks for 30 hours of puzzles
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These are so addicting to me. Please stop making them. I can't stop wasting my life.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like minesweeper, you'll love this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played several of this dev's games, but this one was the most enjoyable for me, as it properly feels like a single giant puzzle. Loosely bounded sections with solutions that bleed into each other are much more fun to solve than hermetically sealed compartments that could have been presented as separate puzzles. None of these games are super challenging, but they are superlative for podcast listening background play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much harder than the others but still a great relaxing game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I found this game because I stumbled upon the free 2024 mosaic. While I enjoyed that one a little bit more with the clickable sections and the way everything overlapped this still scratched that same itch. Great game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game after 2024 Playtime is a bit longer than 2024 (~20h with no hint button usage) Only gripe is having to solve other sections to get clues, hope future games' sections are more self contained a la 2024
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game 7: Proverbs (2024) I had a *hunger* after doing Mega Mosaic and the 2024 Retrospective. I think this is the best of the trio, too. I'm maybe now a bit mosaic'd out, but I'd be down for several more of these a bit further down the line.
positive · AI labelView post →I love these puzzles so much. I bought the pack and decided to do this after a few of them and the end of year mosaics. I thought i would not like it as much as the others since it wasnt themed but this is my favorite one by far. This one has soft boarders instead of hard edges around the images making it alot harder to finish. It means you cant use some of the trick you learn about in the other games and makes this puzzle much longer to complete (at least for me personally.) I really hope…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's a big puzzle. do you like puzzle? do you like it big? here ya go big puzzle. i'm at just over 40% complete and i really only have one criticism and that is just that i don't really get the choice to leave so many spaces without numbers on the board. Like, this is supposed to be like minesweeper meets picross but the blank boxes in minesweeper mean 0. Here it's just a void of information. I imagine it's like a thing to make the game more difficult but like it's a massive puzzle, even if…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This thing is massive! It's quite intimidating. My playtime doesn't reflect actual in-game time though, as I have walked away from the screen several times, still it took quite a lot of hours. As others said there is no undo button, but don't let that discourage you, because if you make a mistake a different button appears to remove the offending bits, I think that is just as good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not for the faint of heart and probably not as good as Proverbs or some of the other Mosaic games by this developer. I still enjoyed it, but it felt noticeably less "Zen" than the other games.
