Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 42 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (79 of 99 positive).
Players praise the game as a unique and emotional life sim with charming turnip-based art. [1][2][3] Some find the gameplay repetitive and the constant micromanagement tedious. [4][5][6] Several reviewers note the game becomes more challenging and enjoyable after early missions. [7][8][9]

The constant micromanagement of the needs of you and everyone who you wish to stay close to gets very tedious. Trying to click on some of them when they are rolling a mile ahead of you, and they have to wait for you to catch up, and then watching them keel over into a slab of stone before you can reach them, is highly depressing. Also, I was excited to find that I could completely ignore making friends once pets …

Minabo - a walk through life is a life sim that's as visually endearing as it is heart wrenching, and that you won't be forgetting. Raise your little turnip from crawl to casket, attempting to build relationships and take care of yourself along the way. I was once a lovely turnip. I was a happy turnip, and I grew up well with love from my parents and my older sibling. I found a lover at 16, and with the magic of a good-looking hat, I was gifted with 15 children. I lived to see 113, with the help of some magic mushrooms. I saw my seedlings age, and I met many new friends. 8 of my seedlings, and my devoted lover waited for me in the afterlife. My parents were so …

An addicting little gimmick game where you balance resources with RNG to try and stay afloat. It's fairly engaging and interesting but lacks depth. At $15, it feels steeply overpriced—more like a mini-game within a larger game than a true standalone experience. 5.5/10

This is a really unique take on the life-sim genre and the only comparable game I can think of is Doki-Doki Universe but this is more focused on relationships than cultural exchange, and I think is better for it. I'm going to have fun messing around with it and collecting all the hats. If you like life sims that are pretty experimental I'd say it's worth checking out.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would have thought a relationship-focused lifesim would be slow and methodical with lots of room for experimentation, but while I was still trying to get a hang of the primary mechanics I realized my parents were growing old before my eyes, my mid-life crisis was kicking in and I was still single with virtually no friends. And then that happened in the game, too.

The strategy is straight forward but also difficult. For the price it’s well worth it and not a time commitment game. You can pickup and go when you have 30 minutes at a time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Be a turnip Learn how to make friends Find your best friend Build relationships Find a partner Give a birth Make decision between life and death Support your parents, friends, partner, kids Life a long life full of achievements and pass away surrounded by your close turnips! Or ruin it all, be alone, live short miserable life, die soon, nobody will remember nor regret. Real turnip's life simulator!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't been playing very long, only completed 2 or 3 missions, but this is just not a game for me. It's monotonous, over the top repetitive, and just plain boring. I will give it another chance, but I don't see it changing much. Glad I bought it on sale.

The concept itself is interesting, but I just don't find myself wanting to come back because of how frustrating it is. I wish there were difficulty sliders or something to help. Finished? No, DNF Steam Achievements? Skill based. Steam Deck? Perfect Rating? 5/10 My curator page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45865425-CozyAriGames/ Full videos on Youtube.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got to know about this game from a joke (minabo is a pun in Spanish), but the game is a very heartwarming lesson about our life choices and the meaning of "Time is gold". A truly recommended experience ♥
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so addictive... So simple... So calm and relaxing... Just as I remembered from the old demo!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Charming and full of character, with decisions that really matter. It's surprisingly moving to see the relationships between your turnips grow. A delightful blend of humor and life lessons, all wrapped up in veggie form!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too repetitive, not much to do. Just spam the same three actions over and over and that's about it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a cool new concept! I can't say anything bad about Minabo—it's just so adorable! Every time I play, I’m learning how to navigate the game, and it’s a delightful experience. The focus on leveling up and achieving different awards adds an engaging layer to the gameplay, but it’s the charming aesthetic that really sets it apart. This game is a fantastic addition to any cozy gaming collection. If you’re looking for something fun and cute, Minabo is definitely worth a try!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I noticed that the game is really fast paced and I end up doing the same interactions over and over just to improve my relationships. The coziness factor is not there for me, it is does not make me laugh, it just isn't my thing.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't care for this game. I understand what the game was trying to do, but the whole experience just felt confusing and boring to me. I never really felt invested in the gameplay or motivated to keep going.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quests 1-3 were too easy and boring, I was about to drop the game, but from quest 4 and afterwards it becomes more challenging and enjoyable, with the possible enemies, some goals, random items and hats adding a bit more complexity to a game that's still simple. What does annoy me is that it can get hard to track other turnips when they're not too close. It's also a bit buggy, at least with only these few hours I've already experienced 2 bugs: items not activating (even when walking over them,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved it! Minabo is a gentle and quirky metaphor for life, love, and connection. What sets Minabo apart is its simplicity and symbolism. Every interaction matters. Do you greet someone? Hug them? Ignore them? Your choices affect how your turnip develops socially, emotionally, and even spiritually... A charming, thought-provoking stroll through the garden of life.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Minabo – A walk through life is a charming gem! Playing as a turnip navigating relationships feels fresh and heartfelt, with every choice shaping your personality and social circle. The randomized lives and quirky hats, like one that makes you a love magnet, keep things fun and replayable. The art is adorable, and the psychological depth of interactions is spot-on. Only wish there were more mission variety, but it’s a delightful life sim that’s easy to love.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a thoughtful and touching game. Beautiful visuals and a meaningful take on life, choices, and connection.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Delightfully quirky with meaningful choices. Watching your turnip's relationships evolve is oddly touching. Perfect mix of humor and life lessons in veggie form!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite an unusual and interesting idea and original visual style make you pay attention to this game, but it would be nice to add more choices and their consequences
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game, but the Water Lily hat is a bit OP.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disappointing gameplay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute game! I got sucked in!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A longer but poorer version of This is your life now by More Mountains (which itself is nicely explored and inspired by Passage by Jason Rohrer; Long Journey of Life on iOS is also an OK trial in this direction). Game is definitely not cool compared with previous works but let's give it a positive review for trying out the theme.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They say you "can't squeeze blood from a turnip". But I disagree. When I instantly killed my childhood friend to extend my own lifespan, all I saw was red. Good game.

neutral · AI labelView post →Minabo - A walk through life is an unconventional and quietly reflective life-simulation experience that uses simplicity, metaphor, and charm to explore what it means to grow, connect, and eventually let go. Developed and published by DevilishGames, the title places players in control of Minabo, a small turnip-like being whose entire existence unfolds along a single horizontal path. From the moment Minabo sprouts from the soil to the inevitable end of their life, every step forward literally…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Positives: Cute graphics and music. Negatives: Extremely boring gameplay loop. Sometimes it’s hard to click on the character you want.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoy playing Minabo! I love the art style and playing as a turnip. It was also interesting to see how the social interactions with those around Minabo affected them as they aged. I like that there are 25 different missions to complete and the ability to play free life mode after completing 5. In 2 hours, I completed 5 missions, so there is plenty of playtime! It is a fun game, and I like the challenges of the missions.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →interesting little life sim/walking sim type game, similar to the sims but just interactions and relationship building. faster you move, the faster you age. live long as possible and meet plenty of people. get it if you're interested!
