What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 186 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Overwhelmingly Positive (3,223 of 3,321 positive).
Players praise the shift from competitive dating to a cooperative road trip with resource management. [1][2][3] Many appreciate the deeper character lore and the emotional impact of the 'End of the Road' ending. [4][5][6] Some find the gameplay repetitive and the endings feel meaningless. [7][8][9]

I don't understand why the reviews for this game are so positive. The description says there's still a dating option but I could not for the life of me figure it out at all. You basically only get to talk to every character you encounter once so how you could possibly get them to like you I have no idea. The game advertised there being so many characters but you only get to have one conversation with them before you …

While I understand that this is likely the unpopular opinion, I absolutely love the gameplay of Roadtrip over the other Monster Prom installments. Where in other Monster Prom games (and other dating sims, in general) you need very precise stats and/or specific interactions to be even remotely successfully, and that's something I've always found off-putting. I've never really been a fan of the games that basically …

TLDR: Ditching dating for road trip chaos and clearer stat goals makes this the most approachable entry yet, though shallow endings and a lack of any real narrative keep it from feeling truly rewarding. PROS: ➕FINALLY MP has a save feature…. ➕Great cast of returning characters ➕New stat gain/loss and win criteria makes game more interesting ➕Humor ➕Tons of endings ➕Art style CONS: ➖No dialogue history ➖Starts to get …

This game feels very different to the two previous Monster Prom games in a good way. Instead of competing with each other you are (or at least should be, if you want to reach your destination) working together with your friends to reach your desired destination before one of your stats runs out. Sessions can be a lot longer than your usual round of other Monster Prom games so you should probably keep that in mind …

While the weaker of the games in this franchise, it's still a lot of fun. The characters continue to be so much fun, and the art so exciting to see. Also, no game or other media will ever be able to surpass the meta narrative of Roadtrip. So many games pull the "oh no the characters learn they're in a video game" gag these days, and it's fun, but the conclusion here is the most satisfying I have ever seen, and I do …

88% of the 186 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Monster Prom 3: Monster Roadtrip. The complaint that keeps coming up: gameplay gets repetitive after several runs. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm ashamed to say I've waited so long to leave a review. but after all these years, playing these games since monster prom, I've finished end of the road, and it hit me just how important in my life these games have been. i can attribute my egg cracking and realizing I'm a woman to Milo in monster camp. the characters and stories have shaped me as a person and stuck with me all these years and the games still make me smile playing monster con. the humor Isn't always for everyone, the gameplay…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The main selling points of this game should be a narrative-driven, humouristic gameplay (and I guess some kind of fetishism regarding dating monsters). Aaaand... the writing is terrible. Unbearable to keep up with, like talking to stereotypical dumb american teenager. Probably ok if you are interested in the same things these said stereotypical teenagers are... On top of that, the gameplay mechanics are as shallow as they can be.

positive · AI labelView post →1. Monster Prom 3: Monster Roadtrip I got this one real cheap on sale, I'm pretty sure, and I was a huge fan of the first two games! Back in university, I'd voice the characters with my flatmates when we played together. I think, without them, I just haven't had the motivation to play.
neutral · AI labelView post →Going in blind to this game, it seems enjoyment is directly tied to following the series. You have almost zero agency or choice as a player, and even within the confines of it being a dating sim, you basically scroll through walls of text to occasionally get to make one small decision after another. I think the writting's decent, but I absolutely hate mechanics of this game. Which sucks, because I was really excited with the resource management, cute characters, and a text based adventure.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun ideas, but not really a fun execution. The survival mechanic felt a bit out of place. Tries to be a bit too quirky for its own good. Makes you feel like being roadtrip with people you can barely stand. Can be fun if you're into quirky, random humor I guess.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Monster Camp is a fun dating sim to enjoy with friends. While it doesn’t stray far from its predecessor and might not appeal to those who don’t appreciate its humor, it remains a solid title thanks to its distinctive style, clever writing, and memorable characters. If you’re searching for something a little different in the genre, Monster Camp is definitely worth giving a shot.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great fun with a friend to provide half of the silly voices. The writing continues to improve as the series goes and the secret ending was an effectively bold creative choice.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a fun sequel to the monster prom series, my only complaint is that getting endings in this is harder than the previous two games, but that doesnt make it less fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very dissapointing. Very sad that there is only two characters given that you ABSOLUTELY have to stick with (you can pick up third one but it is optional and as far as I understood is like romancing a secondary character in the previous games, like shopkeeper or such) that are both very annoying... They are good in the original game, but here there is TOO MUCH of them. In the previous games you could choose who you gonna be stuck with, here you are on a roudtrip with people you don't even like…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is my favorite game of this sires. I don't know why exactly but it is amazing. the game play is much more different from the other two games and there just so much more to do in this game. I like that there is a management system to the stats and that it not that you need a specific stat that you need it that what option will give you and what will it take away. I think I just like the management system. In this game is because it give you feeling of being road trip and that it dose…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →why is it just two dateables unless you get the dlc. this game would be great if it had a damn cast on the roadtrip instead of polly n scott only. cannot fathom why they did this. only reason worth playing this game is the chance to date our og mcs but that's locked behind dlcs. still had my fun, but what the ♥♥♥♥ happened here.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably one of the best games to play with friends. This game has layers and it wants you to work for them. I can't tell you how much time I sank into this game and getting all the endings. I love, how much we get to learn about our favorite monsters in this game. I was chewing at the bit to get more lore out of it (even after eating all I found). Just A+ all around
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man this month's Humble Bundle is UNREAL. Waiting on getting Bomb Rush Cyberfunk paid off BIG TIME. Just getting that game for 10 bucks already is incredibly worth it, but I also got other 4 games I wanted in The Invincible, Moonstone Island, Inkulinati and Venba AND got an extra of Monster Prom 3!!

It's a SUPER fun game part of a dating sim series f̶o̶r̶ ̶m̶o̶n̶s̶t̶e̶r̶f̶u̶c̶k̶e̶r̶s̶ where you date different monsters, and can be super hilarious at times. Each run takes around an hour, and it has content to play for quite a while!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All the loveable characters and sick art from the first two games, plus SO much more! The resource balancing mechanics really up the difficulty of the game, but that makes it all the more satisfying when you achieve a sick ending! So many options for everything and it's nice that there's technically no "wrong" answer, as you'll always gain something. It's just about keeping the balance so you can reach that sweet roadtrip destination. Love being able to choose which kind of background music you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BORING AND REPETITIVE
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's pretty good in it's own way, a lot more different to the other MP games IMO, much more relaxed and not as competetive, but still the same vibe and humor as the other ones Something to note. There is "more things" but there isn't so much to explore about them. It's like going to a restaurant and having 30-50 more items on the menu, but not being to have any spices or sauces or anything to add to the flavor. As where with the neighbouring restaurants. They only have 10 foods on the menu,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun in small doses. It's a resource management visual novel that has you trying to complete a road trip. I haven't played anything else in this series so can't compare it, but I did not feel lost jumping in here. I don't see how this game could be fun as a couch co-op as it's a visual novel without full voice-acting, and even if it did have full voice-acting, I still don't see how this could be fun for 2 or more people.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Monster Roadtrip or Monster Prom 3 is supposed to be a dynamic narrative adventure with survival elements, but it ends up not delivering anything, at least for me. The visuals and artwork are really good, solid and consistent all around, so that is good. The story, characters and interactions seem interesting as a concept, but they end up kinda bland, not really engaging or interesting, sometimes feel like jokes with good premises that never gets solved with a good punchline, sometimes they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Always an enjoyable way to kill time, with great dialogue and unexpected outcomes. Such a great series with heart.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun, and I'm glad it's not as reliant on RNG as the previous games! It makes me excited to play Monster Con!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is no sex scenes
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is quite fun and puts an interesting twist on the original formula, I would 100% recommend it if you have friends to play with, as playing it alone just reminds you of the cripling loneliness of your existence and how you don't have a single friend that you close enough with to play the game alongside you and will never be able to form meaningful friendships despite the beauty of this world. Anyway game good when friends.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay differs from previous installments in the most amazing way possible: it adds even more depth and focus to stories and world-building, makes it EVEN MORE replayable, and fixes a lot of previous replaying issues that might come with the gameplay getting a little boring, like repeating through the same scenarios too many times over and over again. I love it. The shenanigans are even more unhinged when they're a little more focused on the longterm goal of having fun on a roadtrip…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is so stressful because of all the resource management you need but ♥♥♥♥ is it a great time when you're trying not to lose all your hype because you really are having a great time as well as trying to date the playables with the hitchhikers pack
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is probably my favorite game out of the series. I love the road trip style, and the dating taking a back seat in this one. I do wish that you could switch out your main companions outside of the Prank Masterz (just for replayabilites sake, and yes I would pay extra for that because I want to give you all of my money to make more games) but I don't think that's *necessary* to make this a simply fantastic game and more than worth picking up for anyone who likes visual novels with a twist.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →absolutely perfect for playing with friends!! this is hands down my favorite game out of the entire series
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a good change of pace for the games, writing was much better then the previous two games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice game, I want to ♥♥♥♥ that hipster vampire
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another really solid entry in the series! Admittedly I liked Prom and Camp more, mostly due to Roadtrip dialing back on the dating sim aspect and having it be more resource management and wacky antics with Scott and Polly, but the charm in the writing and visuals is absolutely still here and makes for a good time. Also End of the Road might be my favorite route/ending to come out of this franchise, so that's a big plus as well, definitely worth playing if you liked the previous two games!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing amazing amazing I love this whole series I cant recommend these games enough!!!
