Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 203 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (4,667 of 5,340 positive).
Players praise the game as a fun, cooperative horror-comedy with unique underwater exploration. [1][2][3][4] Some reviewers note technical issues like glitchy controls, lack of toggle options, and graphics causing headaches. [5][6][7][8] A few players find the game repetitive or not engaging without a consistent group of friends. [9][10][11]

As much as I want to enjoy the game, it gave us both a MASSIVE headache due to the graphic/FOV and apparently I'm not alone in this, it's happened to a lot of other people as well. There are no HD texture mods to smooth this problem out and I've had a migraine for a little bit. Games normally don't do that to us, this has been the first time we've had that happen. Apparently there's no intention to fix this issue …

Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing or where I was, my oxygen at 2%, and two of my friends were eaten by a giant spaghetti monster while I got chased by the police, trying to hide bodyparts in a shredder. I couldn't even breath from laughing. Pure fever dream, definitely worth a buy.

Think lethal Company married to Iron Lung, and swimming away from underwater horrors while avoiding the police. I absolutely love how scary the monsters are in this game, the designs are great. I love even more roleplaying with my friends as we pilot our very own submarine. Very fun game, highly recommend it to anyone who likes loot extraction games or just messing around with friends. The game has grown a lot since …

It's a really fun game and I really like the whole concept of exploring underwater facilities while having to work together to operate the submarine, even in solo. It gives the game its own identity and can lead to some really funny moments. The only real issue I have with the game is the graphics. Even on high settings, I feel like the visual quality could be much better. Some textures and details look a bit rough, …

I absolutely love this game and my friend Muhammed agrees even after the 100 times he died and I had to carry him, he is so trash but it doesnt really matter because I love him anyway, but that is beside the point if you like having fun and watching your trash friends get eaten by Underwater Jabba The Hutt id play this game

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is actual friend slop. Every other game similar to this is significantly more engaging and fun to play. The gameplay is mid at best and mind numbing most of the time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not really for me, I feel like games like these are made popular by Streamers farming reactions from the content with their friends. Gameplay is o.k. but the concept is overdone. Probably decent for a week or two if you have a fairly consistent group of friends you play games like this with.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lethal Company x Repo, but underwater. Definitely on the same level of quality as those games, just needs some hype and it'll take off.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →as someone with a LOT of ocean/water related phobias, this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrifying. but really really fun, i genuinely love it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Today is Murky Divers day! As many spore buddies know I am terrified of water in video games so it's sure to be a time. Also I just found out the game is up to 8 players now so if anyone would like to do a murky divers collab in the future let me know! 🎨: @egg-priority.bsky.social
neutral · AI labelView post →Murky Divers is one of the most underrated games I've ever played. The submarine piloting is a fun and cooperative minigame. The environments are very fun to explore and the enemies are really good with their unique mechanics. One thing I also really like about this game is that the developers made it so you and your friends have to come together to get the job done, making sure not one person isn't feeling left out. So glad to be a recruit at Pharma Corps, highly recommended this game.

positive · AI labelView post →there are not words to describe, what’s possibly the most insane atmospheric underwater horror game. Literally everything from the subtle ambient music that plays while driving, to the massive police ship that slowly approaches you. There’s not enough appreciation for this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to like this game, but I can't. When something as integral as HOLDING THINGS is a glitchy hold button to grab function, it makes it basically unplayable. Not only are my fingers getting sore, but it constantly will just be like "oh your holding this? No you're not." and then forcefully have you drop it even if you holding down the grab button. TLDR: Add grab toggle options!!!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While technically a Lethal Company and REPO like game, Murky divers is suffering from a lot of very notable issues that the other two games lack. Firstly, there is no scanner function. That, in combination with the (literal) murky lighting of the game forces a loss of direction that is incredibly unsatisfying and makes it very frustrating to gather the amount of items you need. In combination with the incredibly deadly monsters that show up from essentially the very start of the game makes it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a counterpoint: Murky Divers has a genAI disclosure on its store page. It detects player voices in game and uses them for a "copycat" enemy that looks - and sounds like - the player. It's not using it for training, only the current session. And it genuinely improves the experience. Well done.
positive · AI labelView post →And we are done for the day! Lost in Random seems to be an interesting game and Murky Divers was, as per usual, a lovely time. positive · AI labelView post →R.E.P.O's logo made me think it was gonna be some stupid edgy game, but it's up there as one of the most unique "Lethal Company-like" games, alongside Murky Divers and Content Warning
neutral · AI labelView post →Apparently Murky Divers is using generative AI/plagarism machine to record your voice while playing the game and using it to generate voice lines for their Mimic enemy so uhhhh never recommending that game, ever, in ever, ever

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fun but i don't like it anymore because the achievements require friends and none of my friends play anymore😢😢😢
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll be honest: This game IS fun when you get to the maps, and can actually explore, gather parts, and survive the threats of the deep. It is NOT fun when you have to drive the submarine around between every mission. Cool concept, but it gets old really quick.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I honestly forgot to write a review for murky. in a huge summary: this game was fun for a couple hours and has a great mimic. but the replayability is absolutely horrid. the game loses all its scare after 2 hours then you hit a brick wall
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I stole a little creatures, threw my bud into a grinder, blew up a reaper thing, got an exposive fl3shlight. look should be more expensive. 10/10, maybe give a booklet on the creatures so we can see wht we look at in the game, very fun!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another good friendslop game like Lethal Company or R.E.P.O., but underwater. This time, you will have to drive a submarine with your friends before going on site. I think it's a great game but I've almost never heard anyone talk about it. So if you really like this type of game you should give it a try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game relies heavy on friends, and it does its job right (if you don't have boring friends atleast) just a tipical quota scavanger game like lethal company i do hate it that all my settings get reset when i open the menu to invite someone or change keybinds overall a decent game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game with a very unique design. The colours are eye candy, the character designs are fun, losing doesn't feel so bad because the ending sequence is amusing, as is the "death" screen. The sound design really immerses you in the atmosphere and the horror (or rather creepiness) isn't forced. The room opening/closing and electricity mechanic also adds a little positive strategy to your gameplay. Very underrated!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is sad to see this game so dead right now and In my opinion it is one of my favorite games to play with friends at the moment although there are hardly any people online to play public matches with.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You definitely need the OST for purchase. I have had the songs on repeat for a week. Amazing game. Just fun as hell with the right idiots.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Of course, people are going to compare this to other popular horror games but I can confidently say that Murky Divers has earned its own identity. Unlike some of those other games, it has gameplay customization, drop in/drop out multiplayer, and workshop support. Of course, gameplay itself is quite different too. If you're spamming to swim away fast, you'll find yourself stuck motionless in the water. You will literally have to HOLD items you bring with you. You will also have to navigate the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I LOVE this game. I will be even more excited when they get their saves implemented as well I really hope they avoid the "Company" aspects and "quota" aspects with 3-ish day intervals. Just having the ability to vibe continuously, and gain depth by supplying the submarine with more power is spectacular. In addition to all the hidden/special encounters (some quite scary) I look forward to see what else they add into this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pretty under appreciated Lethal Company-like, honestly if they just updated the game more frequently I'm sure they'd get a bigger player base, because there is something unique in this one. Murky Divers is more focused on being a horror-comedy than a strictly horror game with comedic aspects. There's a lot of laughs to be had and some good scares from the creatures, and I enjoy the mechanics. I love the idea that you're also evading the police as well as strange monstrosities as you're swimming…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably the best "Friendslop" game I've played yet and I've played all the most hyped ones. Maneuvering the ship adds something that makes the other games in the genre feel so lacking.

neutral · AI labelView post →Honestly doesnt seem like a bad game from the tutorial but the first time ive tried to play it theres no lobbies (I tried playing on a sunday afternoon just after new year where most people shouldnt even be back at work yet.). yes i could play it alone but the same could be said of Content warning, Lethal company and Peak: they're not games that are really designed for that (moreso with the needed coopperation when piloting the sub) so going off that id not recommend the game, im sure its fine…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the worse co-op games released in 2025. There are just better games, this game is artificially hard and very punishing, ending runs really fast
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My thalassophobia hits hard in this one 😭 Every time I leave the sub, something out there reminds me why I hate the ocean. Murky Divers is a new co-op indie horror game that perfectly captures deep-sea fear and tension — I’m not built for this. #gaming #thalassophobia #indiegame #horrorgame
positive · AI labelView post →While there is definitely room for improvement in a lot of places, it's an overall fun game and even more so if you can manage to get together a group of friends. The creepy and danger factors is always present in expedition sequences due to the large amount of monsters/entities in the game and the different patterns of each one. Usually the only option you have for dealing with them is either stunning them or running away, which makes them feel like a threat even if you have a friend tagging…

neutral · AI labelView post →I've been curious about Lethal Company, but I'm not a streamer and I don't have friends to play with. That said there's another game almost identical to LC called Murky Divers and instead of going around different research stations on different planets, you're cleaning out research stations underwater. You have a sub that you use to go around the ocean, and there's like a radar to help you navigate, avoid creatures and obstacles, and find locations to actually go into. There are all manner…
