60 of 105 · most liked firstRecent movie watching (or, in the case of CLEARCUT, rewatching). It and NEVER LET GO definitely the best of the bunch. VERMINES had great casting but was only middling as a scary movie. 28 YEARS LATER was all over the shop, quality-wise. HYPNOSEN was interesting but not entirely successful.
positive · AI labelView post →Modern horror movie nomenclature is so boring & generic. Don't Breathe, Speak No Evil, Never Let Go, Hold Your Breath, Imaginary, etc. Bring back the days of horror movies being titled, like, Crazed Vampires From The Ouija Board and Mistress Demon Ghost & The Horny Witches.

Q& A after. Essential viewing, although you'll never look at a terrapin again without wincing... www.cinemamuseum.org.uk/2024/celebra...

neutral · AI labelView post →Now watching: ‘Never Let Go’, dir. John Guillermin, 1960, because @bobfreelander.bsky.social gave it a strong recommendation on the Pure Cinema podcast. Has an early John Barry score. 🎬🎥
neutral · AI labelView post →I enjoyed Never Let Go. I wasn't a fan of the ending but it was still a good movie. Them babies (Percy Dagg IV & Anthony B. Jenkins) carried this movie. They were incredible. I can't wait to see them in more horror. #horrorsky #filmsky #BlackSky

neutral · AI labelView post →Trailers: Never Let Go, The Monkey, Lee, Joker: Folie à Deux As widely reported, the film begins with a content warning about the subject matter. This is very understandable after watching the film, even if it is largely done with restraint. Heed the warning if necessary.
neutral · AI labelView post →rapid fire movie review. The Gorge: fun idea, would have been great to see practical costume work and less CG. overall was ok Never Let Go: GREAT performances, surprisingly compelling movie despite being predictable. I'd recommend. Humane: Good fun. bit disappointed with the ending. I'm team Bob.
positive · AI labelView post →Never Let Go and Woman In The Yard are basically the same film. Both are horror films featuring a Black mom with two kids and a dog. They deal with similar themes. Both are bad films, but only one of them is totally irresponsible for how it tackles its theme (Woman in the Yard). Disappointing! 😞

positive · AI labelView post →Cuckoo is alright. I liked Cuckoo. I Saw the TV Glow really doesn't count as horror but it's got elements of it. BEST movie by far. Amazing. Never Let Go. That's a good one. A+ The Substance is INSANE. Abigail is fun. The First Omen is another good one.
positive · AI labelView post →Never Let Go is five pounds of movie in a ten-pound bag.

neutral · AI labelView post →I'm gonna keep an eye on this list. I've not seen a truly scary movie since I was a kid, but I do have some creepy favs. Never Let Go was unnerving. Tale of Two Sisters had me a bit jacked up the first time I saw it. Rigor Mortis was bad ass and one of my all-time favs is Silent Hill.

neutral · AI labelView post →Next up from that first day is Never Let Go. Admittedly, my high hopes might have dampened the experience but altogether it’s a very fine supernatural horror film that doesn’t do anything particularly well beyond its central performances. www.horror2themax.com/articles/one...
neutral · AI labelView post →Never Let Go (2024): The challenge of movies like this is that they have one central question to answer — “Is this real or is it imagined?” — and if the movie spends most of its runtime indulging that tension, you’ve only got half a film. The other half was misdirection and gamesmanship.
negative · AI labelView post →Trailers: Never Let Go, Speak No Evil, The Substance, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice I swear, every time the movie kept changing course and kept contriving itself to keep going even when it shouldn't, I was almost begging it stop.
negative · AI labelView post →London Frightfest film festival lineup announced today. Some of my guesses based on just guesswork: THE CROW remake (opening film) SPEAK NO EVIL remake. NEVER LET GO (Alexandre Aja) - With Halle Berry turning up too so I can hang out with her. TERRIFIER 3 NOSFERATU (Very unlikely, but can dream).

neutral · AI labelView post →Woman in the yard ✅ 2.5/5 it’s funny how the last 4 films I’ve gone to see have been horror films 😂 another one that was way better in the trailers than the film. Very predictable and cliche plot. Basically a slightly better version of Never Let Go from last year. #movies #moviereviews

negative · AI labelView post →Never Let Go is a meh movie but I do like the depiction of generational trauma
neutral · AI labelView post →Watching Never Let Go and this movie is ok until the dog scene and holy shit I’m horrified and wanting to cry.
neutral · AI labelView post →Ummm iono about this one. Brandy could have kept that movie, but Never Let Go was pretty cerebral and thought provoking. And at the very least generated some good discussion and interpretation. I felt Front Room had fewer layers.
positive · AI labelView post →Film Review: Never Let Go What's there to be afraid of? Wouldn't you want to go see it for yourself? @carturo222.bsky.social has our review at the NOAF blog on this American Election Day www.nerds-feather.com/2024/11/film...
neutral · AI labelView post →Watching Never Let Go Fatally muddled Halle Berry horror where she is raising two kids in an isolated cabin. They must stay connected to the cabin by a rope or the (unseen to kids) griblies will get them. Film wants us to question its reality, but also shows us the monsters. It's no Frailty.
negative · AI labelView post →Never Let Go (2024) Aside from the too obvious allegory, this film IMO suffers from a meandering midsection as well as one big-ass plot hole (there could be more, but there is one that I noticed). Too bad because the cast is good and there's some decent scares to be found. Oh well!
negative · AI labelView post →NEVER LET GO is an Alexandre Aja movie with Halle Berry that might be good but the trailer is going to creep out kids that go to see BEETLEJUCE2, so poo on you AMC
neutral · AI labelView post →33. Never Let Go (2024) A mother tries to protect her two sons from an evil force the lurks outside their door. Great performances from the three leads. The story is let down by refusing the commit to its premise. The last 10 minutes has about 2 too many twists.
neutral · AI labelView post →I watched a new good one last night! Called Never Let Go. Was pleasantly surprised, I think because my mental health brain was like "Is this just schizophrenia?" And so I was having a lot of fun trying to determine that through the movie.

positive · AI labelView post →Next up we have “Never Let Go”! I love me some Halle Berry, but we all know when she in a movie with some kids she lose em every time!!! It’s like she’s been losing Isaiah her whole career! She did make it clear she doesn’t want them in real life! #Starz #NeverLetGo
negative · AI labelView post →And John Guillerman's NEVER LET GO; he's shockingly good as a murderous thug. The Boultings are interesting film makers with interesting pasts; HEAVENS ABOVE is from their 'society is buggered' period.
neutral · AI labelView post →I'm going to watch "Never Let Go"! If @stephenking.bsky.social says it's a good movie, then it must be a good movie.
positive · AI labelView post →It's always fun when a movie plays with the idea but doesn't do it. There's a scene like that in Never Let Go where after a particularly hard winter they float the idea of eating the dog, but something else happens before they can do anything like that. Don't worry, the dog survives the movie.
neutral · AI labelView post →Brimming with inventive promise, Never Let Go is a movie of half-moves that never resolves its post-apocalyptic and psychological horror concepts. Halle Berry tries her best, but it becomes a frustrating endeavor by its conclusion. #HorrorFamily #Meh #BetterLuckNextTime
