Gotta be honest, when I first saw the game I thought it was gonna be a fun game, but then I actually played it.... I liked the story (somewhat but I do consider it neat) and the atmosphere, but it's the gameplay that's really dragging the game down. As someone has stated, the concept for a timed game with escort missions where you have to travel back to the beginning is a horrible idea, especially when the NPCs can …

⚠️ Warning! OG Player I came back to this masterpiece after 22 years from its release just to experience it one more time. This might turn into a long review, but hear me out. Nosferatu: Wrath of Malachi was the first horror game I ever played, about 16 years ago, and honestly, this masterpiece helped shape who I am today. People might say “it’s just a game”, but for me it’s a part of my childhood, a part of my …

My cousin tricked me into playing this game when I was a kid, and I shat my soul out. Years later I randomly found it again and dove in like I had no traumatic history with it. Took me about 4.5 hours to beat it, and only minor emotional damage this time. Also its different from other survival horror games Ive played for sure like, the story and gameplay really stand out. It ended up being an unique experience. Also …

A really janky but surprisingly a pretty fun time. Atmosphere is well done, the environments being this Gothic horror with mythical beasts is really cool and interesting as they work nicely as the enemy roster. Massive downside would be the family AI's pathing, feels very similar to Dead Rising 1 where they get stuck easy, never/barely follow orders and just die most of the time which either fails the mission or you …

It feels like a classic horror movie turned into an FPS. It may be old, simple, and a little clunky, but its lack of polish only makes the castle seem even more sinister.

neutral · AI labelView post →To add to my thoughts on The Substance, "neo-expressionism" sometimes comes up in stylized films like Barbie or Nosferatu that have an exaggerated sense of reality. When I see discourse on "photorealism" in videogames, I think of how attempts to stylize or exaggerate reality in game goes unnoticed.

neutral · AI labelView post →VtM: Bloodlines is unfinished and janky (there are community patches), but what is there is an astounding RPG experience - solidly written, interesting story, remarkable freedom and a game that is meaningfully different depending on the clan you choose (Malkavian and Nosferatu especially).

neutral · AI labelView post →I have been told countless times that my Nosferatu art is unique, that no one does it like me, is that true, or are they just playing a collective mind game on me?? I'm sorry, I'm too hard on myself and I don't believe it, someone slap me in the face.

neutral · AI labelView post →Between this and not being able to play a Nosferatu or Malkavian, the game is basically dead to me unless it ends up actually being great. I'm not really hopeful given how long it was in developer hell, though.
neutral · AI labelView post →Such a hidden gem, it's almost like a rouglike where you fight Dracula in order to save your family from certain death. It's such an impressive game for the time, that still holds up today. You will get it for dirt cheap, so buying it is an obvious choice.

For bloodlines, I played and enjoyed Kiasyd, Vollgirre, and Samedi. Yes, I like the weird ones. The first time I played VTM was 1st edition, again at revised. I started getting interested in VTM again after reading all my clanbooks during the pandemic, then bought V5 and V20 books. I still haven't found people to play with... but it's still nice to read, right?

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This now fires the synapses for a video game called oh i dunno, Nosferatu House inspector, where your ancestor used the flush times of the 90s to trap vampires and now needs someone to run interference on the recession and crazed house flippers least they renovate and release dracula
