neutral · AI labelView post →I feel like OBSESSION is the best movie about shit women deal with made by a man I’ve ever seen. Or at least it’s up there. Damn.
positive · AI labelView post →‘OBSESSION’ is now the highest grossing film of all time for a film with a budget of under $1M.
neutral · AI labelView post →‘OBSESSION’ is now the highest-grossing original horror movie of this century. Now at $423M worldwide.
neutral · AI labelView post →‘Obsession’ director Curry Barker says studios must understand that Gen Z audiences are “tired of slop.” “We want good movies back. People are still hungry for movies that are original without some big IP, as long as the story is good.” (Source: www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...)
neutral · AI labelView post →Quick little essay about the disgusting use of Nikki from Obsession in Fortnite. The fact alone that the bottle she uses to self-harm and tries to die by suicide in the film is now a weapon she uses to harm others is disgusting... www.patreon.com/jessiegender...
negative · AI labelView post →Obsession! Goddamn! What a movie!
positive · AI labelView post →The buzzy success of multiple horror things right now — Widow’s Bay! Obsession! Backrooms! and that’s just right now! — should be a message to film/TV folks to set their sights on the bevy of excellent horror novels out there. I say this selfishly as a writer, sure, but also as a reader of them!

neutral · AI labelView post →Christopher Nolan says he's more interested in making a horror film after incorporating horror elements in with 'The Odyssey' He's still looking for a really good idea: "You have to have an amazing idea. When you go see a film like 'Obsession' ... That movie works like a motherfucker"
neutral · AI labelView post →Inde Navarrette will officially campaign in the Best Actress category at the Oscars for ‘OBSESSION.’ Focus Features is planning a major awards season push for the film.
neutral · AI labelView post →ok I am in the camp of people that thinks Obsession is exceptional but also every second headline I see about it basically amounts to “filmmaker used standard filmmaking technique to make film!!!” and I’m sort of losing my mind
positive · AI labelView post →Obsession is a very good horror movie. Be forewarned that it is genuinely one of the most upsetting movies I've ever watched.
positive · AI labelView post →I got out of Obsession and the girl behind me told her boyfriend “you’re not allowed to pick the movie for a long time.”
neutral · AI labelView post →It is ironic that Obsession, a film about patriarchy from a man's perspective that still works to highlight women's inner world has become the flashpoint for (mostly male) filmmakers telling a woman to shutup about not being fairly paid in an industry built on undervaluing women/working-class labor.
neutral · AI labelView post →Horror films had another strong weekend at North American theaters, and “Scary Movie” and “Obsession” both broke records.
neutral · AI labelView post →After Obsession & Backrooms owned the boxoffice, 2 Indy horror films made by young YouTubers, the lesson many took away was that this was a horror only phenomenon. With the success of TADC, hope folk will realize it’s not the type of film, it’s something deeper about genz, indies and originality.
neutral · AI labelView post →I can’t believe there’s all this hype for a low budget indie film like AVENGERS : DOOMSDAY. But it’s nice to see people support these smaller films and not just marketing juggernauts like OBSESSION and BACK ROOMS.
negative · AI labelView post →Silly to treat Digger, of all movies, as the great test case. the last chance for audiences to prove that they will embrace an original movie not based on existing IP. I guess Sinners and Weapons and Marty Supreme and Obsession never happened. It's fine for a movie to be a divisive flop. It happens!
neutral · AI labelView post →Obsession is a pretty unique film in that its protagonist doesn't ever do anything or make any choice that effects the outcome of the movie. He's just low grade malevolent in a totally ineffectual way
neutral · AI labelView post →Finally watched Obsession and it was very enjoyable besides the guy behind us who wouldn't stop talking about how one minor plot point was a HIPAA violation, which made the whole film unbelievable for him. My man. There's a magic wish stick.

neutral · AI labelView post →i've seen 2 screenshots from Obsession approximately 1000 times and from what i can gather it's a movie about a young woman who is having a meal in a restaurant.
neutral · AI labelView post →Here’s my thing. Having seen Backrooms and Obsession the same night, I can say that Obsession is a 10/10 horror film. But Backrooms is *sticking* with me, man. That movie is so good in so many different ways. Not really horror imo
positive · AI labelView post →OBSESSION (2025) directed by Curry Baker is the next big crowd-pleasing, barn-burner horror movie, mark my words. You'll be hearing about this one, soon.
positive · AI labelView post →Capstone, the company that financed ‘OBSESSION’, is estimated to make $45M - $50M from the film after its success. They will share this with the creative team, including director Curry Barker. (Source: www.thewrap.com/creative-con...)

neutral · AI labelView post →I’ve been hesitant to watch Obsession because two of my beloved cats died this year and I knew Bear’s cat died in the movie but someone reassured me it’s just a scene where he comes home and learns the cat is dead anyway I’m 30 mins in and I feel like I was undersold on the dead cat trauma
neutral · AI labelView post →Reading reactions to Obsession and the amount of people suggesting that the film should be clearer in its themes makes me think people long for the return of the Cryptkeeper to tell them what the story is about.
neutral · AI labelView post →‘Obsession’ has surpassed ‘Scream 7’ to become the highest-grossing horror film of 2026.
neutral · AI labelView post →Curry Barker says there’s an extended cut of ‘OBSESSION’ that is 20 minutes longer that he would like to release. “The [existing] movie is the director's cut… I would say extended cut [for this one] for sure.” (Source: RollingStone)
neutral · AI labelView post →watched Obsession tonight and immediately had to take a walk outside after. nasty, evil movie.
negative · AI labelView post →Now that Obsession is on digital you’re gonna see the worst takes about this movie based on people seeing these high definition clips out of context
neutral · AI labelView post →I found it. The worst review of Obsession.
neutral · AI labelView post →Just found out the main character in the Obsession movie is gay in real life and I love that for us!
positive · AI labelView post →Just watched Obsession. 😱 The film is well-built and for the small scale contains multitudes. The commentary on relationships through absurdity, exaggeration, and horror is interesting.
positive · AI labelView post →I was brave and saw Obsession on my own tonight. I did spent half the film with my ears covered because of how heavily it relies on VERY LOUD MUSIC AND STINGS OMG, but ultimately think it’s a great film.
positive · AI labelView post →Curry Barker (‘Obsession’) is set to direct a new ‘TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE’ movie for A24. (Source: Variety)
neutral · AI labelView post →The situation with Obsession is depressing because, while the film is super low-budget, I keep thinking about Markiplier with Iron Lung, who gave his entire crew a bonus because the movie grossed higher than expected. And Iron Lung grossed significantly less than Obsession.
neutral · AI labelView post →Look, this is extremely stupid, but I also can't pretend that I honestly....care? At all? Obsession remains a fantastic film. This is just other companies capitalizing on that. Fortnite doing this is no worse than Space Jam 2 having the nuns from The Devils in it.
positive · AI labelView post →I watched Obsession Such an uncomfortable movie...
negative · AI labelView post →Curry Barker's OBSESSION is a hit for Focus Features, with the film scaring up $17.2 million in its U.S. debut over the weekend. Barker made the film for less than $1 million, with Focus Features picking it up for $15 million. Worldwide, Obsession has made $21 million so far.
neutral · AI labelView post →Yes Nikki from Obsession was the monster of the film. she wasn't the *villain*, but she was obviously the iconic movie monster and not the timid man in a sweater
neutral · AI labelView post →I keep hearing good things about that Obsession movie, it sucks that I can’t see it until they make Obsession for Men.
positive · AI labelView post →I would argue that 2026 has been one of the best years for movies we’ve had in the entire decade. The Odyssey Spider-Man: Brand New Day Toy Story 5 Hoppers Project Hail Mary Wildwood Forgotten Island Backrooms Obsession You Can See Everything Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie Coyote vs ACME
neutral · AI labelView post →The downside of a surprise hit like OBSESSION is people suddenly paying attention to the movie industry and blaming (or crediting) OBSESSION for normal things. Yeah, nobody gets paid on a cheap indie movie, even if it goes on to make $200 million. That's how it works. OBSESSION didn't invent that.

neutral · AI labelView post →A lot of talk about Obsession and the reaction to it being in other stuff like Halloween Horror Night or even as a movie make it seem like it's the first time people have ever seen a horror movie that wasn't a slasher
neutral · AI labelView post →OBSESSION, an R rated horror movie in its 5th week of release, is *adding* theaters this weekend.
neutral · AI labelView post →Obsession was an indie movie meaning Currie Barker like fully owns the rights and fully sold out his art to this shit right? Like he created a wonderfully harrowing movie about free will and control and then said, "Yeah sure fuck it. Nikki's the villain. Put the SA victim in Fortnite." Shameful.
negative · AI labelView post →Just seen Obsession and went in both spoiler and context free. First horror film in a couple of decades. Hold me, for the love of god fucking hold me.
positive · AI labelView post →Curry Barker's OBSESSION just passed $400 million at the worldwide box office: bloody-disgusting.com/movie/395830...
neutral · AI labelView post →Obsession is a good movie that unfortunately was made for an audience with zero media literacy in a genre that thrives on making iconic killers.
positive · AI labelView post →Is Smile or Obsession the right horror movie reference here? Both., I guess.

neutral · AI labelView post →holy. shit. one of the best (toughest?) movie theater experiences i’ve ever had. painful, tense, and terrifying when it isn’t being laugh out loud funny. i left with an ick that sat on my skin for a bit. tied in a bow by an inde navarrette performance that NEEDS an oscar nom. brilliant! #obsession
