Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 185 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (1,074 of 1,215 positive).

As a Dead Cells fan with 1800+ hours who still plays the Daily Challenges, I must say OVIS LOOP is the first game to give me comparable fun and pleasure. Build-building and gameplay-wise, it’s a mix of Astral Ascent and Skul: The Hero Slayer (both were close, but not quite as good). However, the mechanics are new, fresh, and - most importantly - they work. There’s room for improvement, and that’s exactly what Early …

Didn’t think I’d get hooked this quick, but Ovis Loop has been a blast so far. The pixel art is beautiful, the music fits perfectly, and I really like the whole sheep and wolf dynamic in the story—it gives the game a lot of charm. Gameplay feels smooth and rewarding. Beating the Next Generation Wreckage was super satisfying, and the difficulty hits that sweet spot of challenging without being unfair. Definitely …

One the funnest, most satisfying games I've ever played in the genre. The authors frequently mention that it's early access, but this is definitely a full ass game and worth every penny. Quick, nimble, crunchy combat that reminds me of classic Guilty Gear in a platform brawler. An insanely addicting skill-building system that lets you be as unga-bunga or galaxy-brained as you like and rewards you for either. Allows …

Great little action Rogelike. Combat is very fluid and being able to dodge out of animations is a nice touch. Excited to see where this goes.

Been holding off on this game because I don't typically want to jump into EA games but the itch for a good action roguelite was too strong. That said, I'm glad I did as what's currently there is very solid from a gameplay perspective. Very excited where the road to 1.0 leads. + Power Ramp-up. Each run does a great job of giving that power ramp-up fantasy (start basic, by the end you're doing multiple combos and …

Ovis Loop is a great game that is largely…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short review: Ovis Loop looks more fun in the trailers. It doesn't really translate to the in game experience I think. If I had foresight, I wouldn't have impulse bought this game, and for the curious potential buyer, I highly recommend seeing if the demo feels good to you first. And even then, wait for a few major updates for the devs to tune the game further. - - - As far as 2D action rouguelikes go, Ovis Loop feels fairly midling. It is under active development, and I think it can get…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite a fun little roguelite game. Much more so than it looked on the videos. I skipped over it when it first came out, but the good review scores got me interested. This is definitely a bit more of a button masher than most action games... at least to begin with. But there's a lot of fun here. The action stages are really rewarding, the music is rocking... the combat is super chaotic and wild but also just plain fun. You feel really powerful (until you hit the mini boss!) This game uses…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fantastic game. However, if you stop playing in the middle of a run and then come back to it months later, the game will ask you "continue" or "new game" what it doesn't tell you is your saved game is also connected to the run you start MONTHS AGO, so if you forget how the game works or what the menu is actually saying, there is a possibility you could end up deleting your saved game with all the weapons and attributes unlocked while thinking you are deleting the run you started…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is AMAZING its literally everything i wanted albeit quite buggy in some aspects like the fact that when you close the game it still somehow stays running??? I have to actually stop it via steam. Some interfaces also just dont work initially until you like spam them a few times or jump in and out of them but outside of that the games incredible Ive been waiting for this one forEVER and i do not regret hopping onto it for early access.

neutral · AI labelView post →This game has the potential to be one of the best action roguelike games. Combat feels polished, and the flexibility in the weapon skill combo system allows for some really flashy stuff! One thing that will take this game up a notch is leaning in to the high risk high reward style of picking up raw manium. In most runs, the stacked damage from raw manium pales in comparison to getting synergistic passives. One workaround is to make it so that you can trade multiple pieces of raw manium for a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was made with love and attention and is dripping with style and has an un-matchable aura. I am impressed with the feeling of the game and how fun and compressed it feels. It hits all the right buttons. This title is worthy. Just a lovely game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Would be a good game if the game did not swarm you with a crap ton of enemies at once making it hard to see the clues when a enemy will unleash a strong attack.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've enjoyed the brief demo of this game and certainly can only recommend checking that one out to forge an opinion of your own! The demo certainly got me yearning for more and getting the current Early Access version of the game. And I can only say that this game is pure joy. The combat is fast paced fun with a nice way to string skills together into combos and play with your build. It holds a lot of potential for future updates to expand on variety and open more playstyles with each run. The…

positive · AI labelView post →I'm a sucker for roguelikes and delving into this story of corrupting wolves and fighting back as a sheep has been a crazy experience for me. I love the weapons and combos I'm building, I love the diverse strategies I have to use to defeat enemies, and I'm loving the random stages that build on this world. The music is great for stomping wolves. The way of builds and feedback loop keeps me entertained and engaged. And with the recent patch that had the midgame have more variety, I've…

positive · AI labelView post →Chaotic and fun! Reminded me a lot of Dead Cells mostly because of the pixel art style. If you enjoy fast paced roguelikes then I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy this. As for me, my skills aren't great so I'm yet to get through the 2nd map but I enjoyed what I've played so far xD The lore of the world where the game is set in is pretty intriguing too. One issue I've noticed is regarding the achievements. It seems like they are bugged. Recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game so far i didnt beat it yet but yea im having fun. The game is only 500mb but feels like it should be like a 3gb game which is awesome and it runs well. 3rd boss is kinda giving me a run for my money but i like that (i will say going from common enemies to bosses in difficulty is night and day but that makes sense). The skill tree is very well animated. the progression system is rewarding too and fun to see it all come together. (not a fan of some of the ai translation but its…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really good so far. probably my favourite 2D rouguelike right now. love the short levels, being able to just hold attack instead of clacking buttons & getting RSI. meta progression seems decent. plays really well on gamehub when im in bed on my odin 2 portal. also runs great on odin 2 and RP6. i do like these more light weight games for these devices so i can play on the go or under the blankey in bed XD. fantastic game. excited to see what they add going forward.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great 2D roguelike, combat feels amazing, lots of different skills and modifications make every run fresh. Some feedback for the developers: The weapon upgrades and abilities should go more along with the weapon choice. If I go for the rapier, I dont want weapon modifications with Charge! Good content for an early access. I really hope this game is update regularly and not abandoned because it has a lot of potential in my opinion.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a hidden gem! The pixel art style is gorgeous and full of detail, and the combat feels super smooth and satisfying. Every run gives me a fresh challenge, and I love how the mechanics encourage experimenting with different strategies. The mix of roguelite action and the quirky sheep protagonist makes it stand out from other indie titles. Looking forward to seeing how the game grows in Early Access, it’s already a blast to play!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fluid, satisfying combat, interesting build synergies with the modules you can acquire, and great animation and music. Really excited to see how this one progresses!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nifty little action roguelike with nice art. If you're someone who's crazy about action roguelikes you will probably enjoy this one. It's a bit of a love child between Skul, One step from Eden, and Dead Cell. You have different starting weapons and a sizable amount of skills and abilities you can grab each run, and you can definitely spiral into OP territory with the right combination. My only real fuss with the game is readability can be a bit messy sometimes. There's a lot going on, a lot…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simply Put... this game ROCKS! The handles are as fluid as Super Smash Bros, the effects are great, the game is challenging and it's one of those titles that'll have you saying "Just one more run". Each run is different, you can select skills then mod them further and it's particularly fun (and essential) building a super-powered skill that's well synergized with your mods and modules (which are essentially relics, run-long buffs). On top of this, there's 4 to 5 different weapons to unlock…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game reminds me of Skul in its potential. I'm really thinking this has a good chance to be an amazing game as it develops further. I'm keeping a close eye on this while playing it when I can. Good job so far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it plays somewhat similar to skul with a some really cool ways to play but for some reson they made the fanal boss like 10x harder then the rest of the game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay is fast with many weapons, attack patterns and lots of enemies but the length of the game is not great. Neverthless, it is very fun to play and if you like dead cells, you will probably have fun in ovis loop too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →god game everybody please play it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a lover of Skul: the Hero Slayer, this game satisfies that itch several fold. The controls feel wonderful, and while build variety is on the smaller side at the moment, I suspect updates will really crack this game wide open for a lot of different ways to play successfully. The level of polish for a game in EA is astounding. It's got all the fun things you want in a game like this- including great fun ways to break it :p I do hope for a little more normal enemy variety and perhaps more use…

neutral · AI labelView post →Very serviceable little roguelite game. It's got interesting skill combos going on. The difficulty curve is a bit on the easy side since the character has a lot of ways to scale up that are a bit too effective. The visuals and hit feedbacks are wonderful. I enjoyed my time with it, however short a ride it was to beat Dr. Wolf.
