Pac-Man 256 is a 2015 endless runner video game developed by Hipster Whale, 3 Sprockets and Bandai Namco Studios Vancouver, and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game is part of the Pac-Man series and is inspired by the original Pac-Man game's infamous Level 256 glitch, as well as Hipster Whale's own game Crossy Road, which previously featured a Pac-Man mode. Players find it a fun and addictive endless runner that modernizes Pac-Man with power-ups and a roguelike twist. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note that progression and unlocking power-ups can feel slow and grindy. [4][5][6] A few players criticize the game for being repetitive or less enjoyable on PC compared to mobile. [6][7]

Ok, now that I am not angry anymore I'll make a proper review I still don't recommend the game I am someone that likes pacman, I own a couple of Pac-Man games and I found most of them fun, but the thing with this one is that it's only fun the first hour and a half or so Don't get me wrong, this is probably a very good game to have in your phone, but for steam? not so much Sadly I am the type of person that likes to …

One of the very few games I've played on mobile and I liked it there and I liked it here but its pacman as an endless runner high score chase and well.. those old arcade genes still get the job done in spurts.

unironically one of the best pacman games ever. taking the never ending runner formula and adjusting it to the style of pacman works way better then i ever thought it would. its simple and addictive and with the power ups it helps make each run feel different enough to make you wanna come back for more. an easy recommendation for any pac fan or anyone just wanting simple fun.

Super addictive roguelike twist on the Pac-Man formula. This game, along with Championship Editions 1&2, are really good modernizations of Pac-Man that add some fun new twists to the core gameplay concept. I love the power-up system and using the original Level 256 glitch as an enemy that is constantly chasing you is such a genius addition that is so freaking creative. I love it. Great game! Definitely work picking …

"okay one more run" and then play five more times type of game. Very fun and addicting. Note: There is a very quick bright flash when you upgrade power-ups and there isn't a way to turn it off. I just close my eyes when upgrading. Just letting anyone know just in case.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To date, 2015's Pac-Man 256 is the only mobile game in the franchise to be ported to home consoles Released on PS4 and Xbox One for $4.99 USD (and more recently made available via Pac-Man Museum+), Pac-Man 256 removes the in-app purchases of the mobile version and dons four-player co-op multiplayer

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pac-Man 256 Dove into this one from my backlog, and it’s a surprisingly fun “turn your brain off” kind of game. The different power-ups are great. They change up the gameplay in clever ways and keep things fresh for a while. What drags it down a bit is how long it takes to actually unlock and upgrade those power-ups. The skill system feels like it’s paced for mobile play sessions instead of a proper PC grind, so progress can feel way too slow.till, when you’re in the mood for some mindless…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is about what you would expect from an endless runner game on any mobile device, but with the twist of Pac-Man gameplay. Five bucks seems like a lot compared to free mobile games...but it is a high quality ad-free experience. Fun for extended sessions or just wasting a few minutes while waiting on something. It's not a must have, but I don't regret the purchase by any means.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's 2:25 AM and I have come to terms with the fact that the Pac-Man 256 mobile game is actually a great roguelike stealth game
positive · AI labelView post →Not my favorite Pac-Man game but it is fun to play regardless. I prefer the original.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pac-Man + the Crossy Road developer = A fun Pac-Man endless runner type game. Most of the power-ups are offensive but there are a few defensive ones and a few that help you rack up your score faster. Overall, I think the power-ups are a great addition to the Pac-Man formula. I originally played this game back in 2017 and got 7/10 achievements. I finally came back to it 9 years later and ground out the last 3 achievements.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Until recently, the last PAC-MAN game I played came out in 1987 so I purchased PAC-MAN 256 along with some other newer ones to see what I've missed. It's a decent roguelite that offers meta progression by allowing you to use coins to buy and upgrade various powerups. You can find coins in the maze but the game will also reward you with coin packages if you keep playing. Completing random missions also nets more coins. Unlike older PAC-MAN titles, there are no levels in this game.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's ok. It's simple enough to occupy your hands and eyes while listening to a podcast or listening to an audio book. It's shallow but simple fun to slowly unlock and upgrade powerups. There are worse ways to spend time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Underrated game: PAC-MAN 256, for example. It's like the iconic arcade game, but with some extra dynamics and the glitch from the 256th level of the original game makes the game more exciting since you have to gather as many dots as possible and avoid being defeated by both the monsters and glitch.
positive · AI labelView post →Good game not worth 5$ though
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is shockingly fun as a high-score chaser, but it does get a bit tedious once you've unlocked every powerup and are just trying to farm coins to max out your powerups for the achievements. I'd recommend focusing more on picking up coins during long runs if you want to complete the achievements while keeping the game enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/3 - SAO Ordinal Scale Pretty good. Not as good as the GGO arc, but still enjoyable. Animation was good, the fight scenes were nice to look at. I wish I could win free cake by being good at Pac-Man 256. Also having PVP in an IRL AR game sounds like a terrible idea
neutral · AI labelView post →Great to game burn some time, multiplayer even more so. Again goes to show you don't need a RTX 5090/Mega graphics to have an enjoyable game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Achievements are way too grindy. Why play this when Pac-Man Championship exists?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great little game to play in short burst Pac Man at it's core but as an endless runner with a bunch of powerups and missions to do.

negative · AI labelView post →Pac-Pix is WEIRD but fun. Pac 'n Roll is Kirby Tilt 'n Tumble, but with Pac-Man. Pac-Man 256 is also WEIRD but fun. Pac-in-Time is... okay, but was better as the original game Fury of the Furries (yes it's a thing). Pac-Man 99 was awesome until they KILLED IT.

neutral · AI labelView post →I have played almost every iteration of Pac-man that there is. This is my favorite. It pays homage to the classics by using graphics and sounds related to those older games but re-imagined as a constant runner. The bad guy that you're constantly running from is the kill screen from the original Pac-man arcade. It's what you would get if you were playing the original but instead of playing on a fixed grid it just goes on and on forever. The only limit is your ability.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Over on Apple Arcade, a second exclusive Pac-Man game materialized in the form of Pac-Man 256+, an upgraded take on Hipster Whale's modern classic.
neutral · AI labelView post →Pac-Man 256 A really really fun and addicting remix of the Pac-Man formula. Big fan of how much stuff in this game just feels fresh. Probably my favorite Pac-Man title I've played so far, and there's a good selection of skins too.
positive · AI labelView post →iz good, imma rate it like 256/100
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PAC-MAN 256 is a great "in-between" game, when you don't know what else to play. The gameplay gets easier as you put more time into it, since the late-game powerups are more useful than early in the game. Completionist for this game is a bit of a timesink, and the gameplay is obviously repetitive after 10+ hours. That being said, it's a fun addition to the PAC-MAN universe, and is worth picking up, especially during a sale. Would recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After grinding 22 hours to get all the achievements, one of which took over 50% of the playtime, that being the achievement that innocently asks you to fully upgrade every powerup while neglecting to tell you that it'll take over 85,000 coins to do so, and after having played a few hours of it, falling off, playing more a few years later, and falling off again, I can say that this game is really not worth your time. You will play a little, get bored, look at the achievements, and then fall off…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent modern take on the original concept of Pacman! I actually prefer the challenge of an endless maze and also the large selection of power-ups to the original.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pacman 256 killed my grandma no but like grandmas aside it literally crashed my pc and i dont know if its linux being a fragile piece of shit or this port of a mobile game being so genuienly ass that the system killed itself to not play it anymore And the achievements are genuienly just some of the most boring and annoying ever
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Maintains the essence of the original Pac-Man game whilst introducing new things to do. This one gets a thumbs up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i played this game on every device possible now. anyway yes, this game is a masterpiece
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pacman 256 is a pretty simple and fun endless maze runner type game. It had its own custom themes you can choose from, power ups and different kind of ghosts that have their own unique behavior. It gets more hard as you get more score, honestly I would recommend it. 10/10
