positive · AI labelView post →I've been trying to catch up on movies before the Oscars (yes, awards are not important but we clearly enjoy them or they wouldn't exist). I thought Flowers of the Killer Moon was terrible. I feel like I watched a different movie than everyone else. Past Lives was excellent. So restrained.
positive · AI labelView post →Okay Past Lives is a really good movie but the husband’s book is called BONER and nobody even mentions it????
neutral · AI labelView post →3. The Materialists This movie is nuts. Are we sure that the same person who made Past Lives made this movie? Everyone talks like they’re AI. No one has chemistry. [LIGHT SPOILER] A major plot point turns on someone getting that surgery in which they break your legs to make you taller. WHAT??

neutral · AI labelView post →Hell yeah, Celine Song, leverage that Past Lives prestige to make a movie about Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans fighting over your protagonist. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4A_k...
neutral · AI labelView post →Not a #kdrama series, but a movie - Past Lives is now available on Amazon Prime and I highly recommend it. It takes the often used story of childhood friends who reconnect, but not done it the way I have seen over and over again. The FL emigrated to the US, and 20 years later reconnect. Yes, I cried
positive · AI labelView post →If you leave something behind , You gain something , too. Movie: Past Lives (2023) Director: Celine Song 📸 💛 🌼Sharing a similer picture i took last year, same road, same flower🌼 🤌🏼 🌱

neutral · AI labelView post →Materialists, Celine Song's second feature film after Past Lives, deliberately breaks with the long-established rom-com convention of glossing over the financial realities of the characters' lives. Does that make it a good movie? You'll have to read the review to find out! slate.com/culture/2025...
neutral · AI labelView post →I also really liked the film Past Lives. I think I am just a very sentimental person for, like, little moments of connection.
positive · AI labelView post →had my Philly bestie over for dinner (lemon pasta w/ blanched broccoli) and a movie (Past Lives) last night and i also baked him a little mini cake for his belated birthday — i love her.
neutral · AI labelView post →this is a terrific interview with Teo Yoo of Past Lives, an amazing film that I highly recommend (it's streaming on Paramount+). Congrats on winning an award for this piece @hanhonymous.bsky.social !!
positive · AI labelView post →ICYMI Celine Song’s screenplay for PAST LIVES is up on Deadline. She was apparently able to secure financing on the strength of the script. No sizzle reel, no pitch deck, no package. Incredible. deadline.com/2024/02/past...

neutral · AI labelView post →인연 isn't simply relationship but the unseen connection between people. It also encompasses a feeling that your current connections with people are based in your relationships with those same people in your past lives. (This concept is heavily explored in the movie Past Lives.)
neutral · AI labelView post →Related somewhat to this, Past Lives is a really gorgeous movie about the probably very common feeling of being content with the life you have but feeling a sadness for another life that slipped by you. It’s maybe a good way to process some of this stuff.
positive · AI labelView post →*End credits of Past Lives rolls Dustin: Best movie or the year. Me: Really? You like it better than Return to Seoul? Dustin: I didn’t see Return to Seoul Me: [realizes I saw it alone which is… so Past Lives] Oh you have to see it.
positive · AI labelView post →Revisiting PAST LIVES and I wish I could curl up and nap inside this movie
positive · AI labelView post →Tilt “Materialists” at an angle and it’s the same film as “Past Lives,” only bolder and funnier. Really, Song wants to know whether a sensible girl can justify shackling herself to a broke creative. www.latimes.com/entertainmen...
neutral · AI labelView post →And the elephant in the room is that "which movies count as foreign" is an *extremely* fraught issue, which you can realize by looking at the Best Foreign Picture nominees of all major movie awards - does a joint South Korea/US movie in Korean (Past Lives) pay the tariff?
neutral · AI labelView post →I watched Past Lives, which is largely in Korean, with Finnish subtitles, and I mostly understood everything, which is a big change from when I last watched a film in a language I don’t understand with subtitles in Finnish a nice little language learning milestone
neutral · AI labelView post →Let me clarify: “Past Lives” the A24 movie by Celine Song wrecked me
positive · AI labelView post →Going out with a banger! #TheEnd “Past Lives” (2023) is an incredible movie about the deep connection between two people and what is and might have been. Exceptional cinematography, particularly the use of image and silence to tell stories. Slow but intense. 🇰🇷 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
positive · AI labelView post →Go see "Past Lives" (2023). Amazing movie. Don't read anything about it beforehand.
positive · AI labelView post →If, for some reason, you've not seen it yet, Past Lives is on BBC IPlayer at the moment. One of the very best films of the past 25 years. Genuinely, do not miss it. My review is at the link below letterboxd.com/24fpsuk/film...
positive · AI labelView post →Celine Song’s new film, “Materialists,” like “Past Lives,” is a triangle without a villain. But scene after scene leaves you wondering how the protagonist, played by Dakota Johnson, “could be so stumped by this particular problem,” @justincchang.bsky.social writes.
neutral · AI labelView post →I think the "Barbie" furor is weird, and "Barbie" is not the movie for which Gerwig should win Best Director -- "Past Lives" is undeniably better, if we're playing that game -- but it's uniquely fucked up that she keeps getting Best Picture nominations without getting Best Director.
positive · AI labelView post →a rundown of our film club movies for the month! i had already seen (and loved) Crouching Tiger and Oldboy. Past Lives was a total revelation — loovvvvvved it. all good!

neutral · AI labelView post →Finally got around to Past Lives (I know, I know), and you all were right. Extraordinary, thoughtful film dealing with concepts of fate and the yearning over paths not taken. Akin to the Before trilogy (Before Sunrise, etc), which I also adore.
positive · AI labelView post →First watch: Past Lives (Celine Song, 2023). Not sure what made me put this off so long, although I suspect that some Letterboxd reviews played a part. Although mostly positive, some were suprisingly vicious. Personally, I found it rather moving after a shaky start.
positive · AI labelView post →In the Oscar-nominated PAST LIVES, the concept of inyeon's used to lead viewers into believing that Nora & Hae-sung're destined to be together-if not in this life, then in the future. Or perhaps they were together in a past that neither can recall. My latest essay in @salonnewsroom.bsky.social.

positive · AI labelView post →finally caught up with MATERIALISTS, the newest film from PAST LIVES writer-director Celine Song, but it was a big letdown with a toneless lead performance by Dakota Johnson. My review: meadowparty.com/blog/2025/12...
neutral · AI labelView post →#MovieMadness Favourite shot from a movie Past Lives (2023) I don't know about "all time favourite" but this shot from Past Lives stuck with me Nothing technically fancy but pulls at the heartstrings
neutral · AI labelView post →Past Lives is an incredible film! The use of silence and lingering shots really emphasized the longing and emotions. I'll be thinking about this one for a while. #filmsky 📽️🎬🎥
positive · AI labelView post →Just rewatched PAST LIVES for family movie night. What an outstanding screenplay.
positive · AI labelView post →OMG 🥹 this movie was so good I wish more romance movies would take the approach done in this movie. It's an incredibly beautiful story through the chemistry between the actors and the visual storytelling that the audience needs to pick up on. In some ways, it reminded me of the movie Past Lives.
neutral · AI labelView post →Rommy's favorite film is currently Celine Song's "Past Lives", and they love listening to Fleetwood Mac, Chilean band chicarica, and Depresión Post-Mortem.

neutral · AI labelView post →finally wrote about Past Lives, a movie I adored, and summer, and sports, and movies about love, and that one breeze at 4am on a hot day, and why all these things are the same thing, or at least connected. (zero spoilers for Past Lives btw, you can definitely still enjoy this if you haven’t seen it)
positive · AI labelView post →A HEA is hardly a necessity for a good romance (Past Lives is the most romantic film I've ever seen and it emphatically doesn't have one). As a writer, though, I do like to leave my characters in a good place... but with some stuff they still gotta work out. #SumLuv
positive · AI labelView post →I watched Past Lives for the first time last night and got my shit absolutely rocked, remarkable film
positive · AI labelView post →Past Lives is a masterpiece, a beautiful, riveting, heartbreaking film that’s gonna stick with me for a long time. 10/10
positive · AI labelView post →Apichatpong Weerasethakul (with scenes from his film "Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives") - BOTD
neutral · AI labelView post →Past Lives (2023) There's something so constructive yet organic about Past Lives. Throughout the film, I found myself emotionally unmoved, merely observing from a distance. It was when the final devastation hits when I realized, I've been feeling the exact same way as the protagonist.
