Imaging paying $70 for a game only to discover the majority of the content is locked behind micro transactions and pay to win mechanics. It’s insulting and an affront to the game buying public. I had hundreds of hours in 2K21, loved it, even with its flaws. I came back to it to find that 2K had delisted the game from Steam and shut down the servers, which killed even single player mode. 2K essentially stole this game from me, and I have zero reason to believe if they won't do the exact same thing with this game when they want to try to force people to buy a "new" game in a few years. Buy this on sale if you want, but have no illusions, you are not buying this game, you are renting…

I want to start off by saying that I've only played 3 sports games. Tiger Woods 2006, the Rory McIlroy 2015 game, and this, PGA Tour 2K25. With that said, I thoroughly enjoy these PGA-licensed games that put intentioned effort into swing mechanics, environmental variables, and individual course characteristics. 2006 and 2025 also have a sort of points-based minigame driving range that is also enjoyable, and Rory Mcilroy has a historical piece to it that added to my knowledge of the sports of…

+ Graphics and performance are better than with the predecessors (but graphics are far away from state-of-the-art) + Gameplay is good - The progression system would already be wild for a F2P game, but this is 70€ In TGC 2019, it was about difficulty settings and skill. Two players on the same difficulty had equal chances to win. In PGA 2k25, the main nominator seems to be virtual currency and premium season pass ownership. You have to level your character. Each skill point costs VC. If you…

PGA Tour 2K25 absolutely nails the actual golf gameplay. The swing mechanics feel satisfying, courses look great, and when you’re actually on the fairway competing, the game is genuinely fun. It’s the best the series has felt in years. Unfortunately, everything around the golf feels designed to waste your time or squeeze your wallet. VC progression is painfully slow unless you’re willing to spend real money, which turns basic character progression into a grindfest. On top of that, the menus…

Let's face it. I'm gonna play the game. I love golf and I enjoy hopping in the game and crushing Tom Kim into oblivion. I don't think I can, in good conscience, recommend this game though. The game is buggy and time and again there are constant framerate hiccups. Where this game really does NOT shine though is the pay to play nature of the game. If you want gear. Pay. If you want clothes. Pay. If you want to upgrade your golfer (quickly). Pay. It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ business model when all…

Ooh boy where do I even start with this game. So to start with positivity, I should say that this game, for a golf game, is decently fun. I enjoyed the challenge it gave me, controls were simple enough for me to grasp and it wasn’t too hard or easy. All in all, this game would probably be a pretty great golf game. The game is kinda bullcrap. I mean the golfing seems okay, but you earn action points (AP) to upgrade your character as you go along, and you have to spend real money to apply those to you character. No thanks. I mean I read somewhere you earn enough VC to apply your AP but that simply isn't true. I had earned about 550 VC and 56 AP, but 550 VC is enough to apply 3 AP. Now that's bullcrap. If you love a golf simulator in your Casino game this is perfect for you. Grind for VC is insanely harsh and leveling up your skills is locked behind an expensive currency system. Such bullcrap. Early 2K PGA games I could play for 20-30hrs and be fully kitted out enough to play competitive. No chance with this game. Would imagine you would have to log at least +200hrs to unlock everything you need naturally. Is this the best you can do 2K? It's a truly embarassing use of the PGA license. Make…

Absolutely love this game but the cheating in Ranked Matchmaking has been an absolute joke lately. I consider myself a decent player at this game (have gotten to Condor) and have at stages had my ranking dropped so far down due to playing a cheater every say 3/5 games. When it's their turn, you can tell straight away if they cheat, they barely aim, hit and put it in the perfect spot every time, all sped up. Same with approach shots and especially putts. Could be a putt with 30ft of break…

This game is an abomination. Like every major pro sports game, this game is just the decaying corpse of what pro sports games used to be. From the UI to the VC to the new mechanics, I struggle to tolerate this game. To play my my player online, I have to grind the atrocious system to improve my player. The only good thing I can say about the game is that it doesn't actively make the world a worse place to live. I like to play with my friend who likes golf. This game is a big piece of ♥♥♥♥.

For the most part, the golf is good. There are some gimmicks that are more suited to an EA arcade title, like "Texas wedge" being a shot type you unlock when in actual fact, anybody can putt from off the green without special training. However, what isn't good is everything else. The game is monetized out the wazoo and progression is painfully slow. The most egregious issue with the game though is the UI. I have played every golf 2K Tiger/Tour game since early 2000's and this is the only one I would not recommend to a friend. My reasons why: Club grinding is excessive, then when you add the fact you upgrade a club on a certain build, the upgrade does not carry over on the exact same club to other builds. Leads to only selecting one class and club set to maximize while offering over 30 different pairings. The Loading screens/Menu Optimization is on par or worse than some indie games. And music…

Was enjoying the game on the lowest difficulty settings, but once you get bored with that, the problems start. You get the whole problem with how do you simulate a golf swing. It is a little weird that this is the 5th version and they are still having teething troubles with it. It may be a lot easier with a controller, but I doubt it, because it is a bad simulation of golf. The sim produces a worse shot the more you miss by. That isn't the problem. The problem is that each incremental…

DO NOT BUY. Half effort chuggy crap. The chugging makes swings impossible to be consistent, particularly on the 3 click swing type. Sadly there isn't much competition for Golf games....

The monetization of this game is just pure GREED! Player stat progression is locked behind the virtual currency which you gather painfully slow without purchasing in the shop. The game is monetized like a free-to-play but comes with a AAA price tag.

I've literally played hundreds of hours on this game and I love it! Being able to just relax and play this game while watching shows or sports is the best!

This game will make an animal activist want to kick newborn kittens. Features awkward gameplay where Pro-Am mode is too easy and Pro with swing bias is a ridiculous learning curve as if you had never played golf before and it can only be defeated by a slow, demoralizing grind for "VC" assuming you haven't rage quit already. If you're an avid sports gamer with a competitive personality, Pro is the level you want/need to learn considering most of the competitive online play is at that level and…

I got it on sale because I felt really burned and ripped off by 2K23, so I waited this one out. Maybe my opinion is a bit more relaxed or forgiving because I paid less. This game is not worth the full price. The lag in navigating the menus is incredibly frustrating and it's hard to understand how it has not been fixed by now. That said, once you get on the course, it's the same great game it has always been. You might see some lag at the beginning, but once the round gets going, it works…

This games mechanics arent bad but the UI, the constant pop-ups after each round and the buffering at the beginning of rounds and navigating the menu are so bad. Honesty, the buffering might be some of the worst i have ever seen. To top everything off, they have women competing with the men and winning. Kind of ridiculous. Standard 2k slop tbh.

It's a great game don't listen to the bad reviews. I just wish golf games would let you drive golf carts! A solid golf game with lots of options, bells and whistles. And it's cross platform in multiplayer.

Garbage. All clubs and balls are cosmetic only. The game is designed to tempt you to spend real money to buy in-game currency you need to level up your golfers, buy outfits, buy clubs, etc. If you don't spend, I hope you're okay with glacial progress. Constant crashing until graphical settings were adjusted. Even now if you don't treat the slow, laggy menus with delicacy it'll crash. And you need to go through about 10 menus before and after each game you play on the career mode. Everything…

I dont really post about games. but the fact the 2K allowed this to even hit steam without fixing bugs and minor stutters is ridiculous... I've read a review that people have issues with load screen transitions, I can agree to this. my issue is the stutters mid swing and you can do anything about a massive slice because the stutter, I use 3 click and half the time its okay the other half i set my power the i go for my back swing and "stall" then stutter i miss the back swing same thing on the…
