What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 271 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (26,079 of 27,554 positive).
Players praise the game for its cooperative kitchen simulation and roguelike progression. [1][2][3] Many find it more enjoyable than Overcooked due to its depth and automation options. [1][3][4] Some players note it can be stressful and chaotic, especially with friends. [5][6][7]

First up, I really liked this game. The concept was fun, the execution was good, the multiplayer aspect brilliant. Why don't I recommend the game? 1) Grind. Far too much of it. This game is for casual players. Let them jump in. Pat their backs a bit, let them down gently when they fail. Make it fun and amusing. Keep them engaged. The grind in this game is just too much to enjoy it. I played 2p with my partner. …

Having worked in kitchens before, this is the best game I've found that simulates kitchen teamwork. If you've played the popular game "Overcooked" and thought "I wish the kitchens weren't so wacky, unrealistic, and unreliable, so we could actually maintain a system within the team", then this game is for you. Players can actually assume meaningful roles within the kitchen/dining room if they want, and it works well. …

If you're comparing this to Overcooked when thinking of buying it, here's how I compare the two: Overcooked was a much higher stress and faster-paced game, but Plate Up! is actually more relaxing. I like that it's a roguelike type of game, and losing actually just makes the game easier. I like it far more than Overcooked, and I recommend you give it a try if Overcooked was stressful for you, but you liked the …

Oh, Plate Up is so much fun. I honestly prefer it to overcooked, which is most likely because of the fact that I just really love roguelikes. There is so much to do, and it's phenomenal. There are also less bugs compared to overcooked. If you have at least one other person to play with, I definitely recommend getting this game. I got it on sale, but I'd say it's also worth the full price if you plan to play it a …

Fun Gameplay, but Needs a UI Overhaul I really want to love this game because the concepts are fresh, but the UX/UI frustration makes it hard to recommend in its current state. Binding controller buttons is a thing so common in games that it should not be this awfully implemented. Very frustrating is the item collection. In a game where time is your biggest enemy, having to struggle with picking up the correct thing …

Accidentally set the kitchen on fire the day before finishing the run. Two and a half hours wasted. 10/10 will PlateUp again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Will be great if we can XXL map without mod. Ur banquet map isn't big enough. Or you can let us buy more space. I think that is a good update to the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was indeed inspired by other popular cooking games like Overcooked!, PlateUp! or Cook, Serve, Delicious!, but we designed it to be more flexible. For instance, we have a very simple tile based map format and we eventually want to add a map editor which would allow anyone to design and share their own maps.
neutral · AI labelView post →Parcel Simulator sounds like the most boring game ever, but there’s something incredibly satisfying about turning a bunch of simple conveyor belts into a working mess. Honestly, it felt more like playing PlateUp! with automation than any typical factory game 😂

I wont deny I have a lot of moments where I wish I could play with someone, especially when u try to reach day 15, but rest assured if u are that stubborn, then youll enjoy this game and it is possible to reach to past day 15 as a solo player
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I only played it with friends, so I can't say anything about singleplayer, but I had fun. Something to note: not everyone liked it, or liked it as much as the others. I would have liked the runs to be shorter, maybe 12 days instead of 15, as they can get repetitive. If you start automating everything (which is the optimal way to play), the game becomes a lot longer because of all the time you spend setting everything up. In fact, if you automate things well, you'll eventually need fewer…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been enjoying this restaurant management game lately (PlateUp) and I'm tempted to try and gang up with some subjects to hypnotize into waiter drones and have them take care of serving and cleaning while I man the kitchen just to see how effective the waiter drones could be🤔
positive · AI labelView post →Fun game! However, it's really difficult to play solo. I usually can't get past 4 or 5 stars, and a lot of it depends on RNG. I wish the game were a bit more forgiving for solo players because it's hard to multitask when so many things are happening at once. It would also be great if there were a perk or upgrade that lets you hire AI/bot employees and assign them to specific roles or jobs to help manage the restaurant. Overall, it's a fun game, but it definitely feels like it's designed…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Agency over how your kitchen is set up is the biggest draw for me in this game. It's a lot of fun with friends and also by yourself.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More than just cooking and serving. If you like Overcooked 1/2 but want more depth (roguelike elements, planning, upgrading, restaurant management) check out the demo or just pick it up with three friends. It did give me anxiety though, I can't deal with all this... just let me wash the dishes! Originally tried it because it was published by the network my podcast is on and we got keys... but it's actually pretty good regardless.

That is, have you ever started getting into a game, only to discover that the community is much deeper than you initially ever suspected? My kids and I started playing **PlateUp!** for funsies, it's a 4-player co-op kitchen/cooking/restaurant simulator that has you doing fun things like cooking food, taking customers orders, and washing dishes. We kind of play it for laughs and barely make any headway in it, usually as a result of all the chaos…
positive · AI labelView post →One of the best games in my library. High paced but also cozy somehow. Easy to pick up with tons of replayability and very fun with friends. The only downside is that sometimes the UI overlaps and you don't see which table an order belongs to.

neutral · AI labelView post →Such a simple game but this one you will expect to spend 20-30 minutes on it and find out you've been playing for 3 hours non-stop. And it's even more fun with friends. Little mechanics in the game keep your interest and you end up wanting to get out these little plates of food more than you ever thought you would. Definitely give this title a shot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game with the lady 60% of the time and we found this very fun, Very simple to get into and min/max. The concept of the game is simple: make food, give to customers and clean up then repeat. The fun part of it was the good balance and depth. Each recipe has its own "quirks" and difficulties. When I played solo to hunt down all the achievements it was less fun so I would reccommend it as a CO OP game only, solo might suit some people but I don't think it's a fun solo game.

Gameplay Essentially, you play as a chef who takes customers' orders and then prepares their meals in the kitchen, following a series of different steps. So far, we've only tried four different dishes: pizza, steak, salads, and coffee. All of them were pretty easy to understand and prepare, and serving them felt genuinely satisfying.
