Some players find the game fun and silly, especially for its low price. [1][2][3] Many reviewers report that the pogo stick jumping is broken at high refresh rates. [4][5][6] Several players describe the game as frustrating, clunky, and not worth the time. [7][8][9]

Imagine making a game about pogo stick jumping where the jumping part is so scuffed you can barely get off the ground. In a way it's like playing lotto, sometimes the odds are in your favor and when you hold the spacebar and let go you can actually jump, other times you can do the same and nothing happens. Apparently switching to 60hz does the job as well but I can't be asked, honestly. Other than the broken …

A super silly platform shooter game where you bounce around the map with a pogo stick. There is a lengthy campaign but you just might end up spending time bouncing around for fun lol. The stages are pretty simple and the story is near non existent but hey for a buck this is a silly good time!

I would ONLY buy Pongo when goes on sale. It's a fun game, although it can be very challenging at times. I enjoy games that don't hold your hand, but when there is a hard jump at the end of a level and you fall and die, it sends you back to the beginning of the level and it makes the game feel a chore at times trying to get back to that jump. Pros - Great soundtrack - Fun graphics - Fun game play (the pogo stick) …

It's alright, but needs some work to be good. Worth the $0.99.

Solution: I found out, that I only had this issue when playing on a 144Hz monitor, when I switch it to 60Hz it works. Weird Main menu, looks like no love has been put into detail. Hardware issues. Not even worth 1.- Tbh.

positive · AI labelView post →Finally reached Traverse town in KH and oooh its so pretty and I already spotted Pongo and Perdita too. I'm loving this game a little too much😂
neutral · AI labelView post →Frantic pogo stick jumping. You charge then release to jump further. Can't control in mid-air so be wise with your jumps. More frustrating than fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great FPS action!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You need to play this game 60 fps if you want to jump consistently if you play at 144 fps or more you only jump 50% of the time even with a full charge.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The concept is cool, but that's kind of it. The controls are clunky and the game is buggy. I enjoyed some of my time with it, but I just can't recommend this.

Wasteful of my time, wasteful of the time of the other people that have played this """"""video game"""""" and wasteful of the time of creators of this utter disgrace. The amount of human hours that have been wasted as a direct result of this peice of garbage is frankly awful. There are three ways that this disgusting, sorry excuse for a """"""video game"""""" came to exist. The first is that the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the art style, love the concept, but the controls feel clunky. The game feels like it could be some sort of 3D Shockwave game for free in a browser.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game would have been alright with a more persistent tutorial system and maybe something on screen to define when you are or aren't in bounce mode. The fighter AI could've been more effective if they only made their presence known when you set foot on their island too, instead you can still be at the beginning of the map and see them rushing to the closest point to you while they stay on their island.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice minigame for some flash game site, but c'mon it's not worth 5 euro. What is this game? There is not so much to say about this game as you just move around with your pogo stick and your ( cute ) rifle to kill monsters and complete levels using your gear. This game has a very small amount of content and has no actual gamification elements which makes this game more intense and motivating to grind. Get this game for 20-50 cent and you will have a nice time ( 10-20 minutes ) you can hunt some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pongo was a silly fun game when it came out, but it has aged pretty poorly 10 years later. Honestly, if the game was remade with a more modern rehaul, it could be fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is quite bad. The mix between platforming and FPS is far from being great. The level design is really bland, the music gets boring after 3 minutes. The difficulties between levels are really uneven, which makes some levels difficult, while others after boringly easy. Pongo is just trying to be a copy of Lovely Planet; and you should really play it instead of Pongo.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I know this is an easy 100% game but no one should waste his time with this ♥♥♥♥.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a huge fan tbh. It reminds me a lot of the lovely planet games, i really like the graphics as well. Problem is that the controls are frustrating. The jumping mechanic only works half the time, the tutorial messages are not really helpful either. The levels are not too difficult but i kept dying because jumps only worked out the way i wanted half the time, resulting in me having to replay them over and over agsin because falling into the ocean results in a respawn at the beginning.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"If you like Lovely Planet [...] Pongo is a game you should check out." No. Even though the game is just a dollar, it's a trap and here's why : The Levels This game consists of 50 levels. Your objective here is to Pogo your way from Point A to Point B. It has two difficulty settings, easy mode gives you 3 lifes while hard mode only give you a live and also, you can't control your movement in the air meaning once you jump, you can only go straight in the air. Just like lovely planet, you can…

Neverwinter is no exception. This game happens to be run by a Chinese corporation called Perfect World Entertainment. It is their "North American" division of Perfect World. The big issues brought up by many North American and EU players is Pay2Win. Something that is rampant and very accepted and acceptable in Chinese, Korean, and SEA cultures…

Like many star players at that time he regressed to his club of origin as his physical powers waned.
neutral · AI labelView post →The Best Way to Waste 100 Pennies I had a spare dollar burning a hole in my digital pocket, so I threw it at Pongo on a whim. My initial experience was a masterclass in frustration, mostly because the game decided half of my jumps simply didn't exist. Apparently, this masterpiece of coding can't handle modern technology, because I had to throttle my refresh rate down to 60 just to make the pogo stick function like a pogo stick. Once I stopped fighting the engine, I actually bounced through…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →needed to spend a dollar on something and i came across Pongo so without knowing anything i gave it a shot. my first impression was pretty bad, as half my jumps wouldn't register. after setting my refresh rate to 60, the problem was fixed and i pogoed my way through 10 levels before getting stuck at a seemingly impassible mountain. it seems i'll never get every achievement and become a Pongo Master, but for a dollar i'd still recommend this as a decent little timewaster.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frustrating by design and just not fun. Every level is clustered with props, so you often end up cutting your jump from beneath a tree or landing on a rock that would push you off stage. The jump bar is only displayed at the bottom-left corner of the screen and you need to hold the jump button at the right time to fill the bar and be able to jump at your peak height, so you HAVE to look away from your cross-hair (your main focus point) in every section where jumping at your peak height is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pongo is an older game from 2015. It's a venerable 9 years old at the time of this review. It's a very poorly made third person platformer with a pogo stick gimmick, that Commander Keen did so much better decades earlier. Apart from that the only distinguishable features are particularly bad graphics, poor optimisation and janky gameplay. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the…

neutral · AI labelView post →Pongo feels like it's almost there but needed more work - there was a lot of potential for this to be good. The UI looks like it was slapped together as a last second afterthought. The levels need work, the design feels bland/repetitive and visually they are all identical. My biggest gripe however is the controls which feel unsatisfying and at times are unresponsive. More control of the character in the air is needed and would remedy requiring annoyingly precise timings.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pongo is the a very entertaining time-waster of a shooter, switching between movement and combat modes isn't difficult per say, but it does pose enough of a challenge to make the levels of pongo keep your attention for a good chunk of time, and it is definitely entertaining for that short time. For 1 dollar as a joke, it was worth the money.
