neutral · AI labelView post →The Poseidon Adventure is terrible as a movie but excellent as a documentary about the kind of person who will get everyone killed in an actual emergency.
negative · AI labelView post →Gene Hackman’s performance in The Poseidon Adventure is the gold standard for Actors Giving It Their All In A Movie Where They Didn’t Have To.
positive · AI labelView post →You know what I’ve been thinking about today? The Poseidon Adventure. Legit the only movie I’ve ever seen where a fat woman’s weight is neither mocked nor moralized, and she gets to be a damn hero. Man. What a low bar.

Please follow me electroboyusa.bsky.social and we can discuss politics, mental health, divorce, great films (my favorite film is the "Poseidon Adventure"), travel, food and sex.
positive · AI labelView post →The Poseidon Adventure is a New Year's Eve movie.
neutral · AI labelView post →Pope vs AI sounds like a D-tier SyFy movie you watch at 3am after the Sharknado marathon and honestly let's go, sure, why not. Maybe Poseidon can lend him one of his new fighter jets.
neutral · AI labelView post →Cat review #25: The Poseidon Adventure. Name a more light-hearted movie set on New Year's Day. That's right, you can't. Seems my cats really enjoy watching bad things happen to good people, the feline freaks. Finley 8/10, Paiten 7/10.
positive · AI labelView post →I love Muppet Christmas Carol, but it was kinda weird how Scrooge's past involved romancing Sally Field on the Poseidon and then regretting doing the movie Surrender.
neutral · AI labelView post →The rage of Poseidon The cyclops The bag of winds The journey into the underworld Disguising yourself as an old man The Spongebob Movie is just a retelling of The Odyssey
neutral · AI labelView post →Ironically, trying to stop a Nolan film being huge at the box office is about as futile as Odysseus trying to fight Poseidon.
neutral · AI labelView post →Sex workers on film, NYE edition. The incredible Stella Stevens in The Poseidon Adventure (1973). 💋
neutral · AI labelView post →I do not enjoy or regard a single Nolan* film as “good”. And now that he’s slandering the good name of MY BELOVED POSEIDON?!? As if Poseidon ever heard of some jackass named Odysseus much less persecuted him relentlessly with all his power. *you might & yay & I DON’T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT
neutral · AI labelView post →“The Poseidon Adventure” was the “ Phantom Menace” of my generation. A demonstrably meh movie that every kid who saw it in 1972 thought (and still do) that was one of the great films of all time.
neutral · AI labelView post →My favourite Gene Hackman movie is The Poseidon Adventure. There are plenty of others that were better written/directed, but I can't think of a better example of Hackman raising the quality level of a movie by the sheer strength of his performance. He turns a good disaster film into a classic.
positive · AI labelView post →Technically, The Poseidon Adventure is a New Years movie.
neutral · AI labelView post →I hope Poseidon appears in the movie telling Odysseus to "Get wrecked"
neutral · AI labelView post →[RIP Morton Künstler, 97, historical artist, also known for the Poseidon Adventure movie poster, Mad, and men’s magazines. Thanks to his painting, Brand of the Werewolf was the bestselling Doc Savage paperback (and most disappointing, when readers discovered it contained no werewolves).]
neutral · AI labelView post →is The Poseidon Adventure a New Years Eve movie?
neutral · AI labelView post →The Towering Inferno is Poseidon but in a skyscraper and fire instead of the ocean and I am LOVING this film so far
positive · AI labelView post →Poseidon Adventure is such a cheerful name for a film where nearly everyone dies horribly.
positive · AI labelView post →Share an image from your favourite disaster movie. For me: The Poseidon Adventure (1972) 🌊
positive · AI labelView post →#Edwards1000SixtiesMovies 71/1000: THE LAST VOYAGE Before Poseidon Adventure and Titanic thrilled audiences with a sinking ship spectacle, this 91-minute film masterfully portrayed the passengers and crew of a sea vessel on the brink of disaster. This film captures danger at sea brilliantly.

neutral · AI labelView post →What are your fave New Year’s Eve films - even if they’re kitsch - like my favorite, “The Poseidon Adventure” (couple years ago, AI’d a 1972-version of huz & me into an imaginary scene from the film - looks like a great NY Eve party?!)
positive · AI labelView post →The cast of The Poseidon Adventure (1972) posing aboard the RMS Queen Mary during production of the film.
neutral · AI labelView post →I keep seeing this criticism of the lack of the Gods, but I couldn’t disagree more. They are so present in this film, in every choppy sea and cracking thunder that throws Odysseus and his men across the sea. We may not see literal guys, but Zeus and Poseidon are so present in this film.
neutral · AI labelView post →Yes! It’s also the inciting incident that pisses off Poseidon. But Nolan in all his serious adult wisdom decided we didn’t need the main antagonist in the film anyway.
neutral · AI labelView post →Veronica Hamel first entered the limelight as a fashion model. Interestingly enough, in her first film role in the 1971 film, “Klute”, Hamel played the role of a model! She later played a supporting role in the disaster movie, “Beyond The Poseidon Adventure” (1979). #VeronicaHamel
neutral · AI labelView post →Is it time for my annual campaign to get “The Poseidon Adventure” recognized as a Christmas movie, or is it too soon?
neutral · AI labelView post →⚓️Mail Call: Finally completed the Dell installments of the PT-73 crew, three from the show and one based on the 1964 feature film. Enjoyed the reruns as a kid and had zero clue that Ernest Borgnine starred in films outside of the show until I saw “The Poseidon Adventure”.🤣
neutral · AI labelView post →I don't know. Maybe it's dumb, but my personal favorite Gene Hackman film is The Poseidon Adventure. Feel free to tell me I have questionable taste. #TCMParty
positive · AI labelView post →The 70s disaster movie genre was like that. Poseidon Adventure is another example, major characters die really brutal on screen deaths pretty often in the film
neutral · AI labelView post →One of my favorites is The Poseidon Adventure from 1972. Many young girls got a crush on him from that movie. :)
positive · AI labelView post →Did you ever see an outdoor movie-specific marquee? I saw a few when I was a kid. The Poseidon Adventure, Towering Inferno, Jaws. I think Jaws was the last large outdoor promotion piece I saw. Very similar to this:

neutral · AI labelView post →This is from the movie, The Poseidon Adventure. Notice in the background, those water chutes. That must be what they used to create the waves.. My guess.
neutral · AI labelView post →Wouldn't be a critic if I didn't stick the boot in; much as I love 70s disaster movies The Poseidon Adventure and The Towering Inferno, Earthquake just hasn't aged well at all. Soap-opera acting+ variable effects don't help much. On the Channel 4 player. 2 out of 5 film-authority.com/2026/11/01/e...
neutral · AI labelView post →I taught a session before (actually... there are people who chat who have been in a version of this session!) on thinking of making a 'movie poster' of your manuscript and imagining the advertising line. "Hell, upside down" for the Poseidon Adventure, for example, tells a lot! #kidlitchat
neutral · AI labelView post →Doctor Odyssey is talking to Sgt. Grant about her fear of boats and I feel like "I got literally Poseidon Adventure'd, like from the movie THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE" should be a lifetime pass
neutral · AI labelView post →The Poseidon Adventure episode of Disaster Girls is a favorite for several reasons, but I’m still proudest of my “what is the movie really about” analysis (it’s about the Death Of God) inspired entirely by Preacher Gene Hackman (tw: outdated terminology for sex workers)
neutral · AI labelView post →"Matt, why are you watching the new 4K of 2006 disaster movie flop and Wolfgang Petersen career-killer POSEIDON?" "Because it's there."
negative · AI labelView post →Still re/visiting Gene Hackman movies. He is indeed amazing in The Poseidon Adventure, which I'd never really watched. He visibly puts his heart and soul into the part, and—as befits his the character he plays—pushes the film toward overall greatness by sheer force of will.
positive · AI labelView post →You are forgetting about the great film THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE!

Guilty pleasure cheesefest that rocks stellar cast (delightfully overacting) & Oscar winning visual effects. Easily, the disaster genre's funnest film! #filmsky 📽🎬🎥🎞

neutral · AI labelView post →That chud who was aggravated that Odysseus’s mentor is named “Mentor,” and then when informed, “that’s where the term comes from,” responded with his full chest, “THE MOVIE JUST CAME OUT,” makes me want to walk into the wine-dark sea and the arms of an angry Poseidon.
neutral · AI labelView post →Text accurate film Odysseus who’s an arrogant SOB that gets his whole crew killed by Poseidon, fucks a nymph on her Mediterranean paradise island for seven of the ten years of his “return” to his wife, then murders a bunch of men who were acting in accordance with societal mores of the time.
