What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 188 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Overwhelmingly Positive (515 of 540 positive).
Players widely praise the game's polish and immersive audiovisual design. [1][2][3] Many find it a great workout and fun combination of racquetball and arcade gameplay. [4][5][6] Some reviewers note issues with cable management due to 360-degree movement. [7][8]

This game would be so great if you didn't have to turn around. Didn't they realize we have to wear head gear with a bunch of cables going from our PCs to our head? Whenever I turn around I have to be mindful of the cables or they get yanked or wrapped up around my neck, it's a pain. Until we have wireless VR, having a game that requires part of the play area to be behind you is simply poor design. Uninstalling...

TLDR: If you like hitting a box with a stick in BeatSaber, you'll probably like hitting a ball with a racket in Racket NX Racket NX is a fantastic and extremely polished audiovisual experience, an incredible fit for VR, and a ton of fun. It's simple to pick up, but with a really deep mastery curve. It's also a good aerobic upper-body workout, or at least it is for out-of-shape me. It's a very focused experience, and …

Without a doubt, Racket: Nx is the best money I've spent on a VR exclusive game. The developer claims to strive for an "unreasonable level of polish". They're not joking -- this is the most polished VR title I own (in four years of VR playing). The audio and visual design is excellent, 10/10. It's a great cardio warm-up, too! One of my favorite things about it is that the developer gives players a monthly set to …

A brilliantly designed and impressively polished take on racquetball for VR. Playing solo is a fantastic workout too. There's a decent amount of content in the campaign with quite a few unique levels that get progressively more challenging alongside an arcade mode and monthly challenge. The multiplayer is the main area I would like to see fleshed out. Currently you can only play versus or coop but in both modes you …

One Word: Polished You've probably seen that in other reviews but it bares reapeating because thats the level they've reached. Its a simple concept, 360 degree scifi racketball, but they make the environment so clean and good looking and give it such strong style, its fantastic. The same attention to detail is, of course, carried over into the mechanics of the game, making the gameplay itself feel very tight and …

neutral · AI labelView post →The game is pretty fun but the downside is it feels like hitting a cannon ball with a frying pan. It doesn't have that satisfying thunk and speed that a racquetball has. The other thing is if you don't hit it right in the center it's going to the ceiling or the floor. My tricep is sore from trying to hit the ball hard because it gives it a turbo burst if you do and you blast more area hence score more. I kept switching hands to give my right arm a break. Maybe there's a setting for my…

neutral · AI labelView post →Cautiously excited. This is the #racket programming language on #haikuos - specifically it's the DrRacket IDE running on Haiku. This was a goal for me when I started porting #Chez #Scheme to Haiku this year (Racket is built with Chez). Prof. Matthew Flatt did some initial work in a Racket branch when he reviewed my work on Chez, and today I took that branch and made a handful of changes, and very rapidly got here (I'm flabberghasted that all the Raco buildout worked and gracket too)

neutral · AI labelView post →Excellent fitness game and fun solo or one-on-one. It is immersive and challenging! A fun different kind of workout you can experience in VR. There is a bit of a learning curve when you start but after you will have tons of sweaty Racketball VR fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is so good! VR is lacking in arcade like, pick up and play, no nonsense titles like these, and when they finally come around we eat good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That's right: Just a decade late to the game, Racket launched a podcast!
neutral · AI labelView post →I am new to VR since a couple of weeks and been enjoying the different new gaming experience. I also love games that combine video gaming fun with real sport and RACKET NX is perfect in that sense. Been enjoying it for 10h already and definitely will sink quite some more into this one. Highly recommended for people who can imagine a mix between real tennis, arcanoid and all that in a 360° environment.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love playing squash in real life, and I used to play hours on end of Breakout when I was kid. This is a perfect combination of the two, and one of the best games I've played in VR. You do not need room scale, and you could probably play it seated, but it's best standing. The devs have had a great eye for detail in the design, like the cable direction on your floor plate and the smashing being more like a flick of the wrist than an whole arm-kinda thing. The single player challenges and the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My favorite sport-like game in VR. From years of tennis and racquetball, I can say the racket swinging and flicking mechanics are very accurate. If you have any experience with racket sports, you should catch on very quickly. The solo campaign is extremely polished and introduces new challenges little by little as you progress, and the leaderboard / star rating incentives you to master each level. The best part about this game is the multiplayer. It's a constant back and forth against an…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You hit a ball against the wall. This can't be fun, right? .... WROOONG!! You give the ball extra spin / speed and it will slide on the wall for a few meters. The learning curve is there. You will find yourself hitting the ball with more precision and perfect direction on the wall. The levels get more and more difficult and they look completly different each time. Perfect game to jump in and keep coming back!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Being a lover of Racquetball, loving this game! Great fun alone or with a friend. I mostly play the friendly mode as it allows me to play with a friend as opposed to the competition mode where you play with random players. Solo mode is great as it has more variety than some of the other modes. I would love to see more options in the "friendly mode." Being in Early Access, there are a few things that probably need attention. But, nothing that takes away from the game. For me, sometimes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the games I've returned to over and over. Clearly on my top 5 VR games. Simple concept executed perfectly. I especially appreciate how the game calculates the spin of the ball fairly consistently, and the difficulty curve is also fairly well balanced. You don't go from easy-peasy straight into facepalming a wall. Details like that matters. Great music too, properly pumping, never annoying. Great visuals, good commentator voice... So yeah, there's really not much reason NOT to get this…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This has always been my go to racket/exersize game - and it still is. I just cannot believe that it was made by a small indie team, everything about it is 100% perfect. Graphics, performance, gameplay mechanics, variety - everything looks and feels perfect. It is the sort of game that an old guy like me can get a good work-out. It sucks you in gently, and then hooks you - you dont feel the burn until after you come out. Want something a little more relaxing? Well you are covered too in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow! Great fun! I saw an article today on a website how this game, which I never heard of, came out of Early Access. They made a *smart* business decision to offer a demo as it gave me a great taste for the gameplay. In addition, I was concerned how well my WMR controllers would track in a 360 fast-paced environment (I'm using the Samsung Odyssey). I'm SO glad I downloaded the demo. Works pretty much perfectly with WMR. I very rarely lose controller tracking (something like once every 5…

Racket's spouse #DrRacket (a PhD post-doc, I suppose) probably doesn't qualify, as she's an IDE, not a programming language.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not an awful game but there's isn't really much going on. The multiplayer worked smooth, only had a minor positioning issue and the movements feel good. Played a couple of rounds online but that was enough for me, fun for a few games but not something that I would revisit or get hooked on. Is kind of like human pinball tennis, has an arcade feel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably the best vr game ive played in a very long time its fantastic fun ... Get it you must play this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Y'know, with all the VR games out there, I just keep going back to this one again and again. Such a simple concept with some awesome tweaks, effects, and little things in it that make it so great to play! positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The long awaited sequel to 2006’s phenomenal ‘Wii Tennis’ is finally here and the game looks and feels like it’s straight out of a 90s sci-fi ‘cool-future-gaming’ scene. Also, for the sake of safety, Racket Nx requires a substantial play-area, especially if you have a long wingspan.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is wonderful fun! Don't let the simple concept or game mechanics fool you, there's some lengthy fun to be had here. Racket NX oozes polish, particularly in their net code. Other devs, look closely, my brother has horrendous internet, worse some days seemingly dependent upon the weather but this game is completely playable on the worst connections. Players take turns hitting the ball, and when it's your turn the game is completely local so there's no lag whether you're hosting or not.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The graphics of this game are realy slick n polished and fits the gameplay. The gameplay itself is not so great. I think the wall move mechanics of the ball annoying as you do not have much control over it. When the ball flys straight towards the wall, the ball seems to take just the direction where it was moving in the most (which is the correct thing, but it does not fit, cause the ball should come back in an instant). The 360° arena thing is a nice idea, but is just annother annoying thing.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To kick things off: Easily one of the best VR games I have played so far. If you want to try out a game that makes the most of what VR has to offer right now then go get it. Its presentation and responsiveness give it a place right next to the likes of Beat Saber and other high quality titles. The game is easy to learn but has enough mechanics to make later gameplay complex and demanding while not cluttering things too much. As such newcomers and veteran gamers should find the same level of…

Honestly, I started with a specific goal that I somehow lucked out into it being a relatively simple script with [iMacros](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMacros) of all things, and that was my introduction to the whole if/then control flow loop basics. (Yes, it recorded my stuff, but I had to go in and alter it and mess around a lot.) And I messed around with Scratch at the same time too. I really think this helped my actual Baby's…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay doesn't really work as a fun thing to do. The idea of a dynamic racket sport in VR is a good one but the way the ball sticks to the walls instead of bouncing off just doesn't really make sense and just isn't fun. A game like this should be something I want to get better at, but after a couple sessions I just couldn't get into it or see a worthwhile progression.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never been one for tennis and the like but a big fan of short skirts and strawberries. This has neither. So it's a single controller, held as a standard racket. You are stood in a circular arena with multiple hexagonal target illuminating 360' around you. A glowing ball appears in front of you just begging to be belted against one of the walls, but I have learned easy swings provide more accuracy. Add a flick of the wrist to put some extra power into the shot and thats basically the game!…
