This is my comfort horror game. ♡ The dark and cozy victorian gothic aesthetic caters so strongly to my interests it's insane. I'm a big scaredy cat but I even went as far as to play 7 before this so I can get the full picture. And honestly? Critics, per Wikipedia

Resident Evil Village received "generally favorable" reviews from critics, according to review aggregator website Metacritic. Some critics noted the more action-centered gameplay in comparison to Resident Evil 7, and compared the switch in direction to that of Resident Evil 4. Phil Hornshaw of GameSpot wrote that while he felt Resident Evil 7 leaned towards the "dark and creepy haunted house" setting akin to Resident Evil, Village took cues from the "faster, panickier" Resident Evil 4. IGN's Tristan Ogilvie saw the game as successfully taking the best elements of the action from Resident Evil 4 and combining it with the modern design from Resident Evil 7. Hornshaw praised the new direction,…

The storyline in Resident Evil Village is absolutely incredible. The game delivers plenty of mind-blowing plot twists that keep players on the edge of their seats. However, one thing is incredibly frustrating, why did Chris choose to stay silent instead of just explaining what was actually going on right from the start? Furthermore, I just have to talk about Mia. She is the biggest burden of a character, maybe even worse than Sakura Haruno. Because of her, Ethan has to go through absolute…

Just about what you would expect from a resident evil game, it checks all the boxes and it's great. I was locked in from the start to the end. The game could've been a little longer, I explored pretty much every nook and cranny, only didn't bother going back to places that were far away from the village, at least it doesn't get repetitive I guess.

The second time finishing it today. It will always be a wow moment when you first enter the village and you see the big castle from the hill… The game is definitely something else from what we used to play, but overall it's just a great experience and a great sequel. I also finished the DLC "Shadows of Rose" directly after. We already knew she was something special, so I don't understand why people hate on the superpower thing, but other than that, it's a great short DLC with some goosebump…

I really liked Resident Evil 7 when I played it years ago, and Village is a worthy successor, that rare beast, a sequel that not only matches but in some ways exceeds the original. Village is more action oriented than 7, and right from the start it brought up a lot of good memories of traditional RE games from many years ago. Desperately trying to craft a few more shotgun shells, trying to stuff just a few more items in your inventory, running around in a blind panic, barricading doors, it's…

In my humble opinion, RE:Village is much more than deserving of being placed in the top 3 RE games, and there's many reasons why i think that and why you should definitely play this game if you haven't already done so. I heard many people complain about the game not being a horror game and having too much action, which i would argue is a good thing, especially when you consider that the action in question is very fun. WHERE DO I START SURE, this game is a continuation of RE7, which is (isn't a TRILOGY) currently a DUOLOGY of the Ethan Winters 'story'. As a game this DUOLOGY is very well made, and offers plenty of content. This review regarding RE8 Village, reflects MY positive review on that game. Game is played in First person perspective and portrays the efforts of Ethan to save his child (and daughter) Rose. Notice that the DLC, playable in 3rd person perspective gives you and me, ROSE'S 'story'.…

What a masterpiece of a game, everything from the atmosphere to the gameplay and to the story. The story might be the best ever of any resident evil game so far, just perfect. I think village might be the most slept on resident evil game EVEN if it has sold millions of copies. Personally an A tier for me, The only things i didnt enjoy abt the game was the final boss fight which felt less of horror and more like elden ring. i also really like the improvement in different enemy types from re7,…

It’s definitely worth it on sale, ngl. I had a good time. The story takes about 10 to 11 hours—maybe more—but if you want to find all the collectibles and chests, it will take much longer. The story starts after 3 years and 7 months from RE7 with Mia, but I won’t give any spoilers; you should see it for yourself.

After finishing RE9, I went back and completed Resident Evil Village — and honestly, this game is great. I’m not a huge Resident Evil veteran, but Village really pulled me in. Great atmosphere, memorable locations and bosses, satisfying combat, and a really nice balance between horror and action. It constantly keeps things interesting, and the whole game feels polished and fun. It’s not perfect though. There are definitely some frustrating moments, especially on Hardcore, where the game…
