What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 191 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (339 of 380 positive).
Players praise the unique coding-like construct mechanic and charming witchy aesthetic. [1][2][3] Many note the game lacks quality-of-life features like key remapping and colorblind options. [1][4][5] Some find the quests tedious and the automation system frustrating. [6][7][8]

I think this game has a ton of charm, but a severe lack of quality of life turns what should be a relaxed-paced game into a tedious slog much of the time. Pros: I think this would be a great game for children. Characters are full of personality with story lines heavily focused on themes of friendship and family, working with and helping others, and self expression/self confidence. Resource gathering is …

Really loved this game, such a fun mechanism and enjoyed all the characters and puzzles. I got ~60 hours gameplay out of it (completion & all achievements + quests) BUT I so nearly gave up near the start because there are a few quality of life adjustment sorely needed. The option to remap keys and a colour blind mode with letters/labels would be a great start.

Honestly, this is my GOTY. And I say that as someone who's loved MANY games this year. It's nice and cosy - you never truly feel time creeping on you or that you have to get something done. You only WANT to get something done. There's a good variety and doesn't feel overly fetch questy. It looks like it's going to be just the perfect amount of time (though I'll be sad its ended when it does.) The writing is good. …

Loved the art and characters and story, very cute and cozy. I usually don't like farm sims, but the coding-esque spin on it with the Constructs made it a lot more fun. Plus, the linear quest-line you play through and no time restraints (like having a calendar with events you need to quickly prepare for in Stardew, bleh) really scratched my brain. The gameplay is a ton of tedious fetch quests that only get more …

The protagonist gets sucked into a portal to another world filled with magic, witches, and humanoid animals (no, not furries; this isn’t that kind of game). Having no way back, they become a witch themselves. Information • Magic is like a program. The protagonist uses puppeted constructs to give commands to via coding-like instructions on cards. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ritual of Raven is a hard game to give a rating for. The story is interesting, I like the graphics, and it runs smoothly on both my Deck and my desktop. I've put a lot of time into it and I intend to finish but my head is so full of questions, particularly regarding these multi-step quests I'm still working through. So much so that what I most want to say is that RoR could use some QoL updates. Most importantly, I would have enjoyed RoR more if I could have tracked what I was working on…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like it but the idea with the cards and constructs is extremly annoying. You need to use constructs to plant, harvest and clean up things. Basically all of it is card based puzzles and it just takes forever to place the cards and use the construct to even harvest the first field which is just 4 tiles big…. I recommend watching videos about this mechanic before buying so you really know and understand how it works and what it is about because for me it was super annoying so…

positive · AI labelView post →The programming system is just way too annoying. There's an if-then, but no else. There's no while-do. No goto. No way to copy a symbol from one cell into another one. No multi-select for cards. No simple copy-paste. The save/load is broken: it'll remove settings from cards (deposit), possibly related to if you delete a saved program and make a new one with the same name it'll have some kind of wonky crosstalk. I got up to crystal-fusing so maybe I'm missing a tool or two but the attempts…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game -- it's very cute and the ideas are there. BUT the UI menus are terrible. I don't know why it was designed as a controller game and then also have absolutely terrible UI on top of it. And this game is so menu heavy, it's just not fun to play when it's just battling against the menu system. Awful. Just had to stop playing.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I could enjoy this game more. I only played a couple hours, but liked the idea of the "coding" and the characters seem whimsical and nice. Definitely on the cozy end of Farming games. Unfortunately, the very vibrant pastel scenery just hurts my eyes. Like, it's just way too bright. And the graphics settings do not include a way for me to deal with that. The second zone is just pink out the wazoo and I cannot continue. Seems like a good game, but I wish they would add a "muted"…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all, this game is so very beautiful and chill. The characters are charming, and getting to know them is fun. If that's all you want then I do recommend it. But as a full game I felt like it was kind of between genres. As a pure farming sim it misses the mark, as the farming is just for story progression. Beyond that it gets kind of boring and pointless to keep up your farm. The quests and story also lagged a bit, so sometimes there wasn't much to do but wait around for things to…

There’s no stamina system either, so you can just keep going without feeling slowed down, which makes the pacing feel really smooth. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to give this game a positive review because it's charming and adorable, but there are many issues that I feel a "positive" review would overshadow. Some of the following might be a complete deal breaker for new players, but with that said, I'm hoping the devs can fine-tune some things, and make some much needed QOL improvements. 1. This is one of the most egregious examples of hand-holding I've seen in almost a decade, and the worst part is, it's not useful or consistent. Simple,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay... I almost banished this game into the dark depths of my Steam backlog because I really...REALLY didn't gel well with the character they let you create (they look like they have buck teeth, flat hair, and a dad bod... which is wild because the scenery and all the other characters are so amazing looking), but I am so glad I gave this one another go because DANG IS IT GOOD. It's only the third "Cozy" game I've found/played that included automation on this level (Rivertown Factory and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Stardew-like programming game that solely exists to copy Stardew's worst and yet most influential idea: not letting you save whenever you want. As always with bad Stardew clones, it only saves when you advance to the next day. Even worse, when you select "quit," there's no confirmation or warning that you might lose progress. Edit: sometimes it won't even let you sleep if it thinks you still have more story to do. On Day 3, it didn't let me sleep until I finished the Temperance arcana puzzle.

neutral · AI labelView post →Overall, love the art and gameplay with the constructs... HOWEVER. Lots of tedium and going back and forth, mainly leaving a review because I got softlocked by accessing a quest too early I guess, found out by progressing the main quest then talking to someone who I had already talked to to initiate a quest I had already started. Maybe I'll change my mind if the bug gets fixed, however as mentioned, the tedium is a big issue with items needed being ramped up as quests further. Overall just felt…

It's cute and definitely up my alley of games I like to play (foraging, farming, cozy), but 10 hours of play in I found myself feeling like every task and every step along the way through the storyline was more tedious than fun. I also personally have no interest in getting to know the backstories of characters or having lots of dialogue with characters, which this game does a lot of. I think if you're the kind of person who really enjoys getting to know…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a tricky game to either thumbs up or thumbs down. I felt a thumbs down was too harsh so I'd say 5.5/10 for me. Pros: - Love the illustrations and style of this game, very charming and pleasing to the eye. Although slightly small text on a Steam Deck. The furniture you can buy is so charming, it made me want to buy it and I usually don't really like making a farm look pretty. - NPCs are unique and have their own personalities. The interactions aren't anything "special" but I feel like…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ritual of Raven is a really cute game with a fresh and interesting approach. The programming-like elements are especially unique and something I haven’t really seen in other games before – very creative and fun! That being said, after playing longer I noticed quite a few quality-of-life issues. For example, quest items don’t automatically appear when opening chests, furniture can only be rotated in two directions (which makes decorating feel restricted), and with crossed plants you can’t…

This game might not be everyone's cup of tea, however, so far this is the kind of tea I want. The storyline wasn't what I was anticipating so I appreciate that quite a lot. Yes, the quests can be…

neutral · AI labelView post →I really wanted to like it but it's just not fun. The gardening programming game is a fantastic idea but you have almost nothing to garden for, so you don't really interact with it, only when it's a must. The immersion is not there, the characters don't do anything but stand in one position 90% of the time so the village doesn't feel alive at all. For example: In the first quest you help assemble a big stage for a concert, days of waiting for the preparations to be done, then when it…

NOPE... boring and a shame because i really like the graphics and story line it states in the description... i knew about the cards but did not think it would be an issue, i like some card mixtures in games like these but to use cards repetitively it seems, it would be super annoying and just pointless , sorry... just do not like that part at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Criminally underrated, was waiting for the release of this since i saw the demo pop up... Beautiful art, enjoying the story so far and love that it's a different magical take on the usual top down, farming sim, the construct mechanic and figuring out how to make long complicated strings of commands for the constructs is a fun challenge. However, although I know it's a game recommended for use with controller, it does really feel like the keyboard controls were an afterthought, the mapping…

neutral · AI labelView post →I'm considering picking up Ritual of Raven this time since it's pretty cheap (esp if you bundle with Moonstone Island). I had a good time playing the unique farming simulation game. Instead of watering your crops the old fashion way, you have to place sequences so it's definitely interesting.
positive · AI labelView post →I refunded this because you can't change the key bindings, and the main action button is F. I don't think the devs ever played this on a mouse + keyboard because there are a million key options and mouse buttons and the only possible way to do anything is to move your finger off of the movement keys to the action key. Honestly it's so lacking in QoL features it's embarassing.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is cute and all, but gamepad controlls are a desaster. The game doesn't even run on stable FPS. Besides that, I do like the Card mechanics, which you can use on your pots to program them that they do stuff. Story is, well, not that interesting and over all it doesn't really give me anything. I see why people like it, but for me it's a pass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This cozy, adorable, delightfully addicting game was an absolute joy to play. A heartfelt story meets thoughtful game design, resulting in 40 hours of fun. Programming Arcana Constructs (read: automated farming) solves some of the biggest pain points of farming sims, and clever "coding" mechanics help players feel like they're outsmarting the game. As a lover of cute witchy vibes, I truly could not get enough of the aesthetic. My ONLY complaint about this game is the lack of agency…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game! This is one of the few games I finished the main storyline and the only one I've 100%'d (so far). I also spent some time decorating different areas. You can decorate almost anywhere. I really liked setting up automatic processes to grow and harvest plants and extract crystals. There's so much potential with this mechanism for the player to arrange the enchantments in a way to save time. I finished it in about a week (60ish hours) cause I couldn't put it down.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game still a little rough around the edges and needs some fine tuning. You'll run into frustrations and potentially even a bug or file corruption. Even so, the developers are working hard to fix everything they can and if you give them they file they'll do what they can to get your game back. The play personalities this game is for is The Collector, The Creator, The Director, The Explorer, and The Storyteller. The game is beautiful with its pixel art, sprite animations, 100+ different…

neutral · AI labelView post →This game is amazing! It's the perfect spin on a farming sim. The story is super cute, the writing is well done. The art style is beautiful and unique. I also like how it integrates puzzling/coding principles into the gaming loop. It is a genuinely interesting take on a genre that can feel oversaturated and stale. You can feel and see the care and dedication put into this game. Truly the opposite of cozy game slop.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After much debate against some mental blockage, I have worked up the motivation to stream finally. Gonna play Ritual of Raven. A magic-filled farming game that requires....coding golem-like constructs to help me farm? Guess we're going to see if this robot bug can code ! 🤖🐝 Starting in 30 Mins!
neutral · AI labelView post →This was a difficult one to recommend. The art style is beautiful, the story and premise unique (love the witchy vibes) but it felt shallow. It's missing basic QOL features, theres quite a few spelling mistakes and while the art style is beautiful, the color choices make things difficult to see with no accessibility options to address this. That felt like a huge miss. On sale, its definitely worth grabbing but not full price. 6/10.

The scrolling of the world while walking around is so choppy it is strained my eyes and gave me a headache very quickly. I tried the graphics options but they didn't help. Perhaps this game was only tested on one machine with a low resolution? Maybe a CRT? It's very confusing how this can be released like this in 2025.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ritual of Raven is such a unique game that it's hard to compare it to anything else - it has the surface look of a classic cutesy farmy-crafty game but the gameplay loop isn't the same at all, involving enchanting (read: coding) adorable tarot-themed constructs into carrying out your whims. As someone who plays a lot of games, and a lot of cutesy farmy-crafty ones at that, it's been REALLY satisfying to sink my teeth into something a bit different. On the other hand, as an automating farming sim game, it feels a bit empty and lacking in depth.
