note: I played in the closed Betas so I do have more hours on this game than shown in the review. I'll start by saying this: Rogue point is a very fun squad based PVE CO-OP rogue-like with gameplay similar to Tom Clancy Rainbow six Vegas 1&2 Terrorist hunt mode. the game has several tactical ways to play through missions whether you want to run & gun or try to stealth through. this game respects your wallet & your …

I've only played a couple of runs and I gotta say, they have something really special here. This game is basically like if they made Terrorist Hunt from Rainbow Six: Vegas into an entire ass game with a little bit of roguelite and extraction shooter mixed into small bite sized chunks. I really want to like this game, but it has a very prominent identity crisis. The planning and gunplay feel more akin to a tactical slower-paced shooter a la Ready or Not, but the enemy spam and movement make it play way more like Payday. Very few of the skills you choose in campaigns have meaning, they either power-spike you slightly, or do next to nothing. Whichever way Rogue Point decides to go for I'd be fine …

Game feels absolutely terrible to play. Gunplay feels awful, the gun feels like it never goes where you shoot, I constantly hit walls and geometry. Your gun kicks like a mule so getting accurate shots on enemies is nigh impossible while they beam your head perfectly. Thought maybe a muzzle break and red dot would fix the recoil issue but nope. Red dot jerks around like crazy and it barely visible due to the bright …

jumping from 0.6.1 to 1.0 while adding relatively little content to a game that badly needs it is certainly a choice. I've seen no indications they are planning on continuing updates after 1.0. if they are about to ship the game with 1 new map (for a grand total of like 5), 1 new boss (so we'll have exactly 2 to my knowledge), and 3 new guns and then claim the game is feature complete and doesn't need more updates they don't deserve anybody's money. if 1.0 isn't the last major content update…

It's got potential, but still needs time in the oven. I don't recommend it YET. First off, the game has a terrible identity crisis - on one hand it seems like it wants to be a realistic military shooter, but then it completely breaks that by dropping wacky machete-wielding fiends who charge you head-first. I'd suggest leaning a bit into the wacky vibe, with more weird enemies, gear and upgrades, because the realistic shooter market is a bit oversaturated at the moment. Despite the satisfying…

Fun game, but it needs some work. There's quite a few odd quirks with bugs and performance that get pretty grating. Then there's plenty of design choices that just don't seem great. A lot of the gadgets just don't feel worth using for whatever reason. Difficulty is very unbalanced, too. Game is really hard as solo, but very easy with four players. Meanwhile, the devs are now soon to release it into 1.0. Clearly rushed and it makes me uncertain for the game's future. This game had a ton of…

few issues: not sure if the game wants to be a tac shooter or not. the movement, gadgets, and planning all suggest an R63 or SWAT4 style game, but in practice the pace is much faster. timers are strict, and everything is so tanky including yourself. I ended up for a lot of situations being able to just rely on having really good aim and rushing through everything. I gotta touch on the enemies again. Stealth is not an option solo (despite seeming like the best option for solo). Your starter…

I try to be open minded when playing EA titles. While I'm excited to see what Rogue Point has to offer in the future, I can't help but feel off about the gameplay in its current state. The most glaring issue is this: Bots CAN and WILL shoot you before even being able to properly acknowledge you. You can see them pulling the trigger mid-turn as they face you. They will attempt to shoot you through metal doors because you tapped sprint. They will shoot you as their shoulder is just being…

Generally a good game, but has a lot of work ahead of it. This is expected of an early access title. I've taken some notes, and will keep this list up to date if I find more as I play. I don't really know if I'd recommend it to general users or not right now. It can be fun, but the ramping of missions feels very unpolished. Missions are always easy, but exfiltration can be exponentially more difficult than the missions themselves, however only due to an often overwhelming number of enemies. It…

Honestly, it needs a LOT more time to cook. At the minute, it's a shell of what it aspires to be. £15 for the three hours I played is steep, that was the best part of two "campaigns". I'll not likely play again until full release - so I do not recommend you buy this product in it's current state. More detail: The game feels stuck halfway between being serious and non-serious and that identity crisis will probably put people off. Suddenly entering version 1.0 from 0.6 without implementing any improvements suggested by the community during demo and testing suggests that there was a decision made by the owners of the game to rush and release this product. It's absolutely an early access game with plenty of rough edges to polish but if you liked terrorist hunt in rainbow six siege, this is fairly similar and will scratch that itch. In it's current state it is annoying to play solo but very enjoyable to play with a friend group. I bought the supporter pack hoping to help the devs invest in the future of their game but it seems like they have other ideas. I'll give them this: it's still early access. However I've got issues with the state of the game at the moment and I hope this negative review will get back to the devs as feedback. Firstly the things i like: I like the gunplay, i like the dynamic crosshair that resembles your actual sights/optics, makes me feel like ADS is a suggestion and not compulsory. From a solo player's POV: The core gameplay and principle is pretty solid, and I think it definitely has potential to become very good. But right now it needs some work, as this game seems to have a bit of an identity crisis. It wants to be a tactical Ready or Not style shooter with stealth elements. But at the same time it kind of wants to be fast paced with timed bombs and enemies rushing you like R6S Terrorist Hunt. For it to be fast paced, the movement is way too awkward and sluggish...…

The game is very fun, but can be challenging when playing solo. I would like to see the option for easier settings. Developers actually listen to their community too, as at first they were very adamant about not having ADS. But the community gave them feedback about it not feeling right without it, and they listened. Plus, this is priced very reasonably for what it is. In the end, it reminds me of Deadzone Rogue and Jump Ship from last year. Fun, low price, and low barrier to entry…

I can't recommend the game at this point. There's potential, but lots of poorly implement features. And also, lack of contents. The campaign system, where you get 3 retry on failure, but lose all you gear on mission lost, so you're essentially screwed on higher diff missions. And the campaign consist of 7 missions which can take pretty long to finish (especially solo), but if you quit out, even on singleplayer, on resume you start with nothing again, arguably worse than a loss. The game is decent with some friends. As many of the comments have said, there does seem to be an identity crisis because half the loadout equipment was rarely used or even needed. Gameplay wise, it's fun with friends, but it feels more like a COD zombies mode than a tactical shooter. Will leave as positive because it was still fun with friends for a night or 2. However, the main issue is the severe lack of content. The game only has four maps and about three or four objective types. This is the only "tactical shooter" I've played that perfectly mixes punchy, stylish run-and-gun arcade shooting with tactical elements like leaning, bullet velocity, magazine retention reloads, and jamming/breaching doors with shotguns, explosives, and the mighty foot. The map is quite limited, and the character models and animations feel stiff. You can basically finish the game and get bored of it within about five hours. The shotgun handles way better than the SMG, marksman rifle, and assault rifle — it really stands out. Smoke grenades are also super useful for extraction. I would recommend this game for cooperative play with friends, but purely on the basis of its multiplayer feature. For single‑player experience, I would not suggest purchasing it.

While I do enjoy the idea behind the game, it is executed poorly. The roguelike elements are really not even necessary at any point in the game. All the power ups are % increases to speed/armor/damage. Nothing to explore, no builds, just stat padding. First off, the movement and gunplay is extremely jank. You feel slow and wobbly. You are able to lean, but it feels like you are an inflatable waving arm guy in front of a car dealership when doing so. I simply could not get used to it. It plays…

Developers abandoned this game and called it "1.0". DO NOT BUY IT, unless Crowbar Collective AND Team17 decides to rethink this decision. Developers have more than enough resources to continue development. Overall game has very good foundation, but lacks polish and content while also not having a coherent direction about what it wants to be. It's not a full release, more like a beta at the very least.

Man... this one is a tough call because it's a genuinely fun experience BUT a very confused one. The mechanics of the game, its visuals and gameplay COMPLETELY CLASH against each other. Features like cracking doors open, leaning, optiwands etc. have no space to shine in a game where snappy aim, bunny hopping and sprinting everywhere are BY FAR the best way to beat each level. It is my humble opinion that the devs should first decide what this game is meant to be, truly, because there's some…

Still not sure what this game is aiming for whether it's tactical shooter or a horde shooter or a mix of both, but the bone is there and slowly improving. Looking forward to more future contents.

Clunky, awkward, and a bit obtuse. Since the game and I had so much in common I thought it might be a shoe in, but also similarly to me it lacks depth, polish, and literally any reason to play the game after you've finished 1 campaign. Guns do not feel great, have janky animations, are wildly inaccurate to where you are aiming, and seemingly random damage. (An AK that one-taps one guy to the dome can turn to the dude 1m to his right and take 3 shots to the head to kill him. They are both…

Someone dumped some counterstrike into my R6 and I'm loving it. Even solo is a blast. Great little terrorist hunt co-op bop.

It's Tactical Shooter... but lacking the Tactical part.. Kind of having an identity crisis..? The gun and aiming, movement is okay, I do like them, but the tactical usually rendered not mandatory is making me question why they even exist. I know the ladder, breach and stuff made that you can have another option to go to the objective, but there's always another way and with how it took tactical shooter genre, it's just not there. Beaten the first game with 1 friend (duo) on their first run…

SWAT 4 with Rogue Like elements would have been amazing. This is not that game. The enemy encounter rate and the amount of damage heavily armored enemies can take more closely resembles Call of Duty. The planning phase doesn't result in any tangible benefit on your HUD, and the order in which certain objectives need to be completed is totally arbitrary. It is simply rehashing a small pool of content to make it appear as if there is more to the game. There isn't. I loved Black Mesa, but…

Had promise, but jumped to 1.0 because it didn't make enough sales, and feels unfinished.

Mid at best, and sorely lacking in content. More than half of what was promised on the Early Access page is simply missing. Even this game's skeleton lacks a concrete identity. It doesn't know whether it wants to be classic Rainbow Six, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, or some kind of cheap MW2 Spec Ops ripoff, and thus, it fails catastrophically at being any of the above. The gunplay is so weak, the dialogue from player operators and enemies is so cringe-inducing, and the levels are so…

Bought to support the team behind Black Mesa and I'll stand behind that purchase. But I can't recommend the game in its current state. As other reviews state, this is not a finished game and it feels like it's still in some sort of 0.6 or 0.7 state. The game is confused - does it want to be a careful tactical shooter or a run and gun action shooter? The equipment category is filled with examples of the former (opti-wand, breaching charges, battering ram, ladder, etc.) that I found to be…

Pretty fun game. I exclusively play it co op (just me and brother) not sure if its better with fours or worse solo but thats how ive played it. We totally ignore the map planning and stuff. frankly its weird that it has it. the game is better played in an arcade mindset. think farcry blood dragon energy imo. its a bit cheesy but it feels good. not worth full price, get at least on a 30% sale imo.

I've had this game for a little under a month, and I just beat my first full campaign so I think a review is warranted. The Good: -This game feels fantastic to play. I have absolutely zero complaints about the guns or the aiming, or the general mechanics of the game. It feels good to play, and the guns feel good to shoot. - Damage dealt is reasonable, and I think every enemy except for the heavies with shotguns, who have a bit too much armor, have a good amount of health. -A decent litmus…
