What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 226 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (3,781 of 4,526 positive).
Players enjoy the charming and fun co-op platforming, especially with family. [1][2][3] Many wish for Little Big Planet games to come to Steam. [4][5][6] Some criticize the need for an Epic Games account for co-op and technical issues. [7][8][9]

- Co-op is essentially broken, filled with bugs and connection issues. I strongly advise against buying this title if you’re looking for a co-op game. - Requires logging to Epic Games Store in order to play co-op. - Way too expensive (even on sale) for what you’re getting, there are far better 3D platformers that you can get for less. Gameplay is pretty bland, and most levels feel very similar to each other.

With small controllers, I play this with my 5 year old, she says: "I like it. It is so fun that we cannot find the...the... cubes sometimes. Mama dies a lot of times in battles, and sometimes I die a lot, like 25 times. We have a lot of time to beat Vex." Take that as you wish.

I feel like this game doesn't get the attention it deserves for how good it is. Playing in co-op was so fun, especially the music levels where the gameplay syncs perfectly with the soundtrack. I also loved the cinematics and the character customization is great; there’s so much variety, and they even offer plenty of free DLC with cute costumes.

Is it Little Big Planet? Nah, sadly it isn't. It is however a fun, cute and charming couch co-op experience. I can't say there are enough games on this platform like it and for that reason I think it's a treasure. Plenty of character customization options in the base-game and free DLC! Some challenge here and there! There's plenty of things to collect! And you can slap your friends with your victory trophy! It …

Played this with my 6 year old. He loves the game, definitely worth picking up if you are looking for a platformer to couch co-op with.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fair warning for those who want to play this with your significant other. There is a trophy screen at the end of each level showing who got the most orbs. Do with this information what you will.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I pray for the day I see a new Little Big Planet title. Doesn’t even have to be a new one, even 1 and 2 remastered for PC. One can dream. For the time being this game gives a little hope and scratches a bit of that itch, it’s a great game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun chill game (did get called a sacker by a boss, not sure if there is racist intent)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a very souless platformer for a franchise that at one time was so whimsical. being flash banged by uptown funk in the first hour of the game really sets the tone for the corporate slop
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although the game is enjoyable to play, it fails to catch the theme of Little Big Planet and what is the worst, the story is so short that the game just ends when you thought you are just getting started. Also the levels are so much better in the beginning, filled with energy and all of that, but after a few they become poorly made and more anxious than something to have fun with. Feels more like a DLC rather than a full priced game, hence I'm not able to recommend it for a full price and as a…

positive · AI labelView post →If you were planning on playing this game with multiple people on the same pc.... Well guess what you get a bonus this game also offers musical controllers. The damn game keeps switching who is playing what character in the middle of the level. Have fun. I will say it worked fine at first but now its just unplayable... Yall should fix that!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game so far has been good. Its a good game but I shouldn't have treated it as a Little Big Planet 4, that is not what this is, this is a fun 3d platformer with the LBP IP attached to it. This game is more of a spinoff then a mainline game. Hoping we get a LBP 4 soon. we need the first 3 LBP's on steam with custom map support. It would be so peak.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely asinine needing to use an epic games account to play online with friends. The game is so perfectly passable for me, not a single part of this game sticks out as memorable to me besides the fact that I want to play LittleBigPlanet, and that LittleBigPlanet isn't an easily available game series anymore. This game just does not even come close to comparing. Customizing your character in LittleBigPlanet used to be as easy as just two button presses anywhere you want, but now it's…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a relatively well made and highly polished game. I, however do not recommend it for many reasons. It feels like a soulless AAA game wearing the Little Big Planet brand as a skinsuit. It's clear that the developer was simply trying to capitalize on the existing brand but they had none of the talent, vision or licenses from the original games. In the end it feels like a cheap corporate imitattion of LBP. The music is a great example. It's clearly well written and produced but most of the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The biggest part, of what made this game series great: The creative mode. I thought OFC they will add it... but they not. This most likely is a common thing and I am deeply frustrated and sorry about the refund. It's just... Little Big Planet 2 was my childhood game and i was so happy when a full 3d version got released... and now, the biggest and best thing, a create mode, is not integrated. I am very unhappy with my purchase and have requested a refund. I feel devastated...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is such a sweet little game. It's harder than it looks (but then again I am an old lady lol) but I thoroughly enjoy it! I think it's a cute co-op and I love playing it together with my son. It has a great sense of humor and even music I remember from my younger days here and there! If I can play this, so can you! Give it a go. You might find out you like it, too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The online multiplayer in this game is fundamentally broken. There was no thought or care put into anything related to multiplayer. The developers should be ashamed of themselves.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am playing this 3 years after it's release and truly it has healed me. I have never felt compelled to write a review of anything ever, but I love this game and all Little Big Planet games so very much that I just wish to express it. This one is no different than the others, a good challenge and pace where level difficulty varies, colors and textures delicious as always, same old sackboy falling off the ledge, and fun little items in certain levels that provide different benefits like the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It Fun. Play local co-op for maximum funness. Thats a word.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →And Lastly for today A sack thing I made when playing a big adventure #lbp #sackboy #LittleBigPlanet
neutral · AI labelView post →Removing the creative tools from a series all about imagination was never going to translate into sales, was it? Judging on its own merits however, it makes for a fun little adventure. Some replayability with collectibles and challenges. Decent platforming and a soundtrack made up of remixed songs. Would only suggest this in co-op though as the game is clearly built around it. That and getting a stage complete photo and trophy on your own must be depressing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a game i was hoping to play with the kids, but unfortunately the controller mapping is broken. It seems there's a bug that switches who's controlling what player rendering this game unplayable. This is on PC, so fair warning to those wanting to play co-op on the same PC.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An actually super underrated platformer. It definitely borrows pretty heavily from Super Mario 3D World, but that's not a bad place to pull from. The music levels are absolutely stellar too. There are the collectibles to find and score attacks to chase, and the story is pretty cute. There are two gripes I have. I usually 100% games like this, but so much of the collectibles are trapped in multiplayer, but no one is playing. Also, the performance got a little choppy in spots which is strange for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really struggling to finish this one. Graphics and audio are nice, story is decent enough. But the issue for me is with depth perception and how the actual gameplay feels. Most of the time I struggle to get any sense of where the character actually is, something that is quite central to the gameplay in a 3D platformer. Something just feels off, I can't really say if it is the camera or the frequent changing of perspective. This of course leads to damage or death that feels unfair. Granted…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please remake the first Little Big Planet!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a charming and polished platformer that’s easy to pick up and hard to put down. The levels are colorful, creative, and especially fun in co-op. DualSense functions work fine and add a nice layer of immersion. It may lack the creation tools of older LittleBigPlanet games, but the pure platforming shines.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not only challenging, but it is fun to play and the music is good too! DEVS, please bring Little Big Planet to Steam!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played Sackboy with a friend who was very important to me. We had a lot of fun playing it together, laughing, helping each other through the levels, and just enjoying the time we had. Unfortunately, we never got to finish the game. Things happened, and now I know that we will never meet again or sit down and continue where we left off. Because of that, it is difficult for me to think about Sackboy as just a game. Whenever I see it, I remember that person and the good moments we shared while…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sackboy: A Big Adventure was such a cute little joy bomb. I loved LittleBigPlanet back on PlayStation, so getting to play another Sackboy game already had me by the nostalgia strings. There is just something about this little stitched-up guy running around these bright, crafty worlds that makes my brain happy. I played this with my girlfriend, and we had yards of fun with it. It is adorable, colorful, silly, and the kind of co-op game that can be genuinely sweet one minute and then…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is way too fun with friends
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Y'know, I was initially a little upset that this wasn't a LittleBigPlanet game, and I still see it as a mistake not releasing it under that name as well as not giving us a level creator or way to share them with other players because there is so much potential here for that. But this is a charming and fun little Co-op experience with friends (up to 4) with the fun soundtrack mostly being composed of real songs and remixes of said real songs. This is a fun game for all ages, but for the most…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 game. My wife and I love pulling the anal beads out of the enemies to kill them and enjoy prolapsing the in ground beads to earn more water droplets.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I ended up seeing this on sale and wanted to get it on PC to revisit the game after Astro Bot came out last year. Unfortunately this game just does not capture what made the LBP series so iconic in the first place (yes i know this is a spin-0ff). While lacking custom levels. To the platform being subpar at best. Astro bot has so much more over this game. And i just can't recommend it unless you can get it on sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My wife and I really enjoy this game, however there's 1 main bug that breaks the whole experience. Every once in a while, the controls are switched between P1 and P2 so you may be jumping and fall because now you're using the other character. This happens a lot every time we play. It's not only super annoying but there's a lot of comments in the forums and still hasn't been fixed. That's unacceptable for a 60 USD game. Also, sometimes the music bugs and it just stops playing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really really well made, top notch. Surely a favorite for years to come. FYI, it makes the deck run very hot. Not sure if there's a chance to fry it- I don't want to find out, haha. It's been holding up really well for my use. I'm getting a second option soon, better for high quality graphics. Can't wait! But do wait for a sale (I got it for 20).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels like a PlayStation mascot fever-dream, but in a good way. Every level throws something new just to keep you smiling like an idiot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →> PERFECTLY CRAFTED FOR PC and why does it install Epic Games Malware on my PC? It isnt even mentioned anywhere on Store Page. What a disappointment.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hey anyone remember this rlly cool game that THEY SHOT OUT BACK FOR NO REASON SJHSHD #littlebigplanet #lbp #fanart #sackboy
neutral · AI labelView post →3/4ths of my play time is from troubleshooting. Awful performance, steam deck compatibility is a lie, 4-player local co-op won't work due to absolutely brain-dead controller support/implementation.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The games good. But it is absolutely ridiculous that one day you can play no problem with friends. Then the next day, you suddenly have to connect to epic games. & even if you do connect, it STILL FAILS! I can no longer play online with friends due to this horrible implementation. Who-ever thought of this can stick it. This sucks! I even gifted the game to my friend and now WE CANT EVEN PLAY. Will likely issue a refund soon
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really need to stop buying such difficult co-op experiences. The game itself it fun, and a lot of the levels I had a grand old time during, but most of the issues came during the co-op experience. This game is riddled with glitches, some that will ruin entire levels. Most of the glitches were timing issues, where one player would see something at a different time than the other player, and this would lead to countless deaths, or just general frustrations, making you mad at your co-op partner…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you’re want to play co-op with a friend just run don't buy it The online co-op is locked at 60 FPS (for no reason). One more stupid thing: the screen isn’t even properly split — it’s shared. If you move even a little away from the host, you’re basically dead. If you don’t perfectly keep up during platforming, you go off-screen… and yeah, you die. It’s just bad design and super frustrating. The servers are awful too insane lag. On your screen you’re jumping and flying all over the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super fun game but unfortunately online multiplayer is pretty much unplayable; especially if you care about achievements/100%'ing every level. Part of gold is beating each level without a single death. The amount of glitches in online is insane. There have been 3-4 times where one of us just gets teleported over the void at the very end of the level for no reason. More times than we can count, one of us also just falls off the map and dies when entering a tube. The bubble/flare mechanic is also…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →# One of the best couch co-op experiences I've had with my son **Recommended 👍** I recently bought a second Xbox controller because I wanted to find some great couch co-op games to play with my 3-year-old son. I was looking for something similar to the Nintendo Mario experience, but on PC. After trying several games, Sackboy: A Big Adventure turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. The amount of polish in this game is incredible. The visuals are gorgeous, the environments are full…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this game from Sony, and I can say that I had a great time playing it with a friend and going through the story. The game has a wide variety of skins, and not a single one is paid! Each level has its own catchy music, and the levels themselves are visually outstanding.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super challenging game to the point were it annoys me, really.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its not a bad family game. but i don't understand why they not addressing technical issues. internet full of posts about ppl loosing frames when they using dual sense controller, or when fps not equal to refresh rate of your monitor. is it hard to patch? i don't think so. Also ''rainbow'' propaganda in game for small kids is not acceptable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don’t let the charm fool you, this game gets serious. Playing co-op, we went all-in for 100% completion, including the String it together Achievement... An absolute joy to play! Don't ask how long it took to get the last Knitted Knight’s trial achievement! 😅
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clunky commands, several bugs where I had to repeat the stage even tho I reached the end. Game is nice, but not enjoyable in multiplayer since you just collide with other players unintentionally.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →little buy gets his own big adventure and its a really fun run
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still loving this game. For me still one of the better platformers on the Playstation. Hope the ever gonna make a new Sackboy platformer like this one. #SackboyABigAdventure #PS5Share #Playstation5 #PS5 #Sackboy #Platformer
positive · AI labelView post →Runs like a turd when playing online
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't buy this game at full price. It's a pretty fun game but it's extremely short. the soundtrack is fun but isn't as epic as LittleBigPlanet 1 or 2's. I only bought this at the time in hopes that it could encourage Sony to make another LittleBigPlanet game. Unfortunately, I have never been able to find another player using the game's matchmaking.
