TLDR: play the demo and that's everything it has Thought it'd be more fun but It gets tedious fast, got to the third area and refunded because it's really slow and everytime you go to a new area you have to reupgrade your stuff so it works properly but the currency is local to each area so in that area you just got to, the money you got in the previous areas is worthless now. The 2 global upgrades the repellant and …

Not sure why people are complaining about this being repetitive... in the game synopsis it literally says this is a gameplay loop. This is a repetitive game by design, they don't hide that fact at all when you're reading about it. That being said, this is a fun gameplay loop. I get sucked into it easily. I don't mind having to reupgrade things in the next, new area, but maybe I'm a masochist? Unknown.

I have 100% scale the depths over 12 hours of gameplay it was truly great. first the negatives 1. game progression feels easy and very fast and unrewarding 2.when customizing your character the heads don't match all head accessories 3. some baits feel very unnecessary and are there just to fill up space now the positives 1. gameplay loop feels simple and satisfying 2. scaling fish feel very simple and calming 3. …

EXTREMELY fun. 100%ed by finding all customer likes and dislikes - some of the rare spawn fish are, admittedly, a bit annoying to get, but the core gameplay loop is fun enough to make up for it. Some of these fish are COMICALLY big, and it makes it VERY funny when it goes between a Big ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Fish and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anchovy. Great game. Highly recommend, It is VERY funny that the Kraken asks for fish "beyond mortal …

tl;dr Scale the Depths has a simple but satisfying gameplay loop, with incremental gameplay that unfortunately in some places feels a little rough, but is overall a game I thoroughly enjoyed. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an alright game but as it stands it's too shallow no pun intended Scale the Depths is a game where you fish, upgrade and sell your catches to customers to then upgrade and repeat. Before I moved on I made sure to mop up any secrets, catch all the fish and unlock all customers thinking that would help me on the next island but unfortunately it hit me and I refunded. this game has no progression or sense of accomplishment, theirs these weird creepy customers sometimes and they're just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Small sandbox for fishing, shallow ocean, can complete each area in 1-2 hours. Not enough gameplay. Have to reset your main gear rod/knife when you change areas which increased gameplay but makes it repetitive start from scratch.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the game, but it's tooo short. It has so much potential, please expand on it. I really love it, it is satisfying and really a good idea. Please, please, please, expand on it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thoroughly hyped for the full release of this game only to find out there's only four areas in the "main game", finished said main game in 5 hours, and now too bored of the repetition to do any more. Some achievements didn't work either, (at time of writing) showing me having 10 when I should have 15. Wish I could refund this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great game, but there is a serious issue that occurs in Point Nemo that makes progress impossible if you encounter it. Basically there's a large door with six buttons and you have to press three in the right order to open it, which I did, however I quite the game after this to run some errands. When I came back and reopened the game, the door was sealed and the buttons were pressed making it impossible for me to reopen the door to enter the area again. If you run into this problem an…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Scale The Depths feels like a fun fusion between Dave The Diver and Cat Goes Fishing and for anyone looking for a fun turn-your-brain-off fishing game than this is one to check out if you don't care too much about completionism. But I don't know if I could fully recommend it in good faith as the game gets extremely same-y by the second world. And resetting your upgrades and money per world is incredibly stupid and demotivating for no reason. Each level is the exactly same with very little…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game captured my attention from the moment it was released. i really like fishing games :) and the graphics are really cute, even tho theyre pixel art. however, the game is really fun at first. but when the story is finished, it will be repetitive and will be a bit boring for some players. well thats not a big deal. i still like this game, coz i dont have to worry about my hands smelling fishy when cleaning fish scales lol thank you to the developer, coz the fish references are not…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PLZ FIX for whatever reason when you leave a location and go back to where you where it greatly reduces your string for your rod, ive double checked to make sure it didnt change my rod, and it hasnt its still the best one for its location. it makes going back and finishing areas impossible because i cant reach the bottom. its a good game but this bug is heavy impacting my enjoyment.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is an amazing game and I would recomend it because its simple, fishing and dicovering cool mithical beast to catch and feed to costumers. But if you were looking to 100% it then go ahead its not easy as 2 of the fish are like a 1-10000 chance of encountering and is very time consuming and a little fustrating, but alas its still a fun game for all ages. Js becareful of the particals if your pc is worse then mine as some of the fish while scaling js droped my FPS.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →overall i rate 10/10.I love this game, its complex enough to be entertaining but not stressful. absolutely loved the demo and so far the full game hasn't disappointed me. the only thing I will say is it would be really cool to have a setting that enables a mouse only feature so you can move along the ship or just click on the stations with your mouse to access them.

neutral · AI labelView post →It's pretty fun, albeit repetitive. something to casually enjoy when you have time to waste. My only complaint is that every time I get to a new zone its a reset of basically everything I earned in the last zone which makes the game even more repetitive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best games I've played , its simple and can run on my crappy pc
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun for $10. The fishing is simple and there's different types of tools to help bring in progressive. Story wise its bland but to the point. Tons of costumes and decals. Having to actually do the steps of scaling the catch to give to the customers was super cool and help this game stand out from other fishing games. Keep in mind its not bloody so its good for anyone with a weak stomach and keeps gameplay cozy-like. Each map has its own secrets and different types of fish which allows…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels like a high-quality, classic Newgrounds game. Not at all complicated, but charmingly vintage.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is alright. However, at this point, the problems still rather outweigh the enjoyment. For me, there are some problems: 1. The mechanics (scaling, parasites, algae, etc) goes from satisfying to pretty annoying rather quickly. Especially when you miss that tiny sliver of scale or algae. More equipment upgrades like better sponge or something similar to handle parasites would be nice. 2. For its price, I'd say I'd like to get around two more fishing spots. More fishes per spot would…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun gameplay loop, but the boat decal menu isn't very user friendly. It should just be a bit more coherent. Other than that it's an amazing game

CONS - Gameplay becomes repetitive over time. - Limited variety in the late game. - Lacks enough content for very long play sessions. VERDICT Scale the Depths is a charming little game that knows exactly what it wants to be. While it doesn't offer the deepest gameplay experience, its relaxing progression, satisfying exploration, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very good game i enjoy a lot it got fishing it got mythology a bit and silly lil outfits for my robot whats not to like
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a meh game, I wish there was an option to not give a thumbs down. It's certainly not a bad game, it has charm, but the gameplay is not very engaging. After you play the first area you've pretty much played the whole game. There are some puzzle aspects to the fishing mechanic that is fun, but the processing mechanic gets repetitive and boring FAST. Also there's not much strategy, technically your customers like different things but the process of figuring it out and implementing it is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Scale the Depths is def the sort of game I can easily lose hours on. A fishing game with an addictive rotation of fishing, cleaning up the fish, feeding to the local 'creatures' and then buying upgrades! Rinse repeat. We raided out to @neviahofflame.bsky.social
positive · AI labelView post →This is the most entertaining game I’ve played, besides Dave the Diver and The Last Gas Station. It’s super cozy, and I highly recommend it. In my experience, when removing fish scales and parasites appear, they’re removed with tweezers instead of being cut out. That part gave me a bit of an ick, but everything else is great. I recommend it if you want to de-stress and spend hours guessing what each customer likes. I hope there will be more levels and more updates, because it’s honestly…

neutral · AI labelView post →I 100% the game in the time i played and actually took my time with it. It's a cute, silly chill game although ngl some fish were a pain in my neck to find but hey, that's RNG for you. You are getting exactly what you see and if you're into small games like this you will enjoy every minute of it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WARNING TO ANYONE WITH AN NVIDIA GeForce 10 series graphics cards: NVIDIA does not support modern games very well, if the game lags despite being a simple pixel game, it's probably your GPU's fault. I finished the game in a day, now i'm working on 100% it. Overall I'd rate this game a 6.5/10, but as a game for casual players it's perfect. The gameplay is fun, satisfying, and feels rewarding. It can get monotonous so it's nice to take breaks while playing. The game has quite a bit of content…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very enjoyable and relaxing game. You can get hooked for a day or two. The graphics and controls are very nice. I really enjoyed the game. But don't expect too much; it might be boring for some. I really enjoy cleaning fish, especially with the coolest knife. It's relaxing. Overall, the game is pretty easy, and you shouldn't have any problems with it. The only annoying thing is that there are VERY rare fish in the locations. And you have to search for them 100 times. But that's only for the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got Scale the Depths as part of a bundle, and after about 48 minutes I already knew it wasn't for me. I actually tried to refund it at that point, but because it was purchased in a bundle and I had already played more than two hours of the other game in the bundle, Steam wouldn't allow the refund. Since I was stuck with it, I decided to give the game a fair shot. I eventually put 8.8 hours into it before finally giving up. I'm usually a completionist, and I generally enjoy incremental games…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple premise done incredibly well. PROS: 1. Pick it up and put it down at any time. 2. Fun easy-going puzzles. 3. Beautiful visuals, fish, and items. 4. Charming dialogue. 5. I never experienced any bugs or softlocks. 6. If you plan to 100% the game, it only took me about 10 hours to do, so it doesn't overstay it's welcome by any means. CONS: 1. The gameplay loop can get a bit repetitive. 2. You have to get new gear every area, meaning you essentially start from ground zero…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Genuinely one of the best games I have ever played. From such a small studio of devs, this is an absoloute piece of art game. Absoloutly reccomend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Progress feels entirely pointless. The second I start enjoying a level the game locks down unlocks essentially forcing you into the next level. The same experience is copy-pasted into the next 5 levels. I hoped progressing into these other levels would provide SOMETHING worthwhile. This is the only reason I played more than 2 hours, hoping the later levels had something instore. What did they have: Plot - no Depth - NO Time to completion - HECK NO (The levels are all the same length: 20-30…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For a game with this low of a price, it sure has a lot of content! The gameplay loop is fun and the story, as well as the trivia on the fish, the artifacts and the messages, is very interesting. The game isn't too long but I don't think that's a flaw at all
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is good but gets boring because its repetitive

neutral · AI labelView post →Tl;dr: Best description I can give is that this is like that one weird DS game that has cool parts but is shallow time waster. It's a kids game that's not that fun. So many parts of this are cool and seem like should be fun, so why is it not...? Most of the mechanics are intentionally sluggish and take time and you can't make them faster or less annoying with upgrades or rather without spending hours dealing with them. If you want to go deeper you need a better rod but then you still are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game was underwhelming overall. Let’s start with the positives. The pixel art, atmosphere, and attention to detail are incredible. Every region looks unique, and the fish catalogue, customers, artifacts, and lore are all presented with a lot of care. It is a very cozy and visually charming game. Unfortunately, the fishing and incremental mechanics are much weaker. The first few minutes overwhelm you with new systems, but after that, very little changes. Most of the game becomes a…

neutral · AI labelView post →I've put out a video review after playing through the game 3 times https://youtu.be/X81XfoWaM_c In short, I think it's a very fun cute colorful game with a nice gameplay loop. Very immersive soundscape but redundant music. It's fun but the positive feedback loop stops once you've upgraded everything, and having to do the cycle on 4 different maps takes a lot of shine out of the experience as you move towards completion. Once you've collected everything, there's zero reasons to play more. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As fun as the demo looked (when I watched my friend play it in class), unfortunately, the full version does not hold up to my expectations at all. While the core gameplay mechanic is fun, it is only for so long. Once you have finished Loch Ness, the first area you find yourself in, you have more or less experienced it all. Later areas offer little more other than other fish and customers, different puzzles (thought that sounds more exciting than it really is), and some new mild hazards (like an…
