As other players have mentioned, the game is quite short. It took me about an hour and a half to finish, and the puzzles were fairly simple. The art style is enjoyable, classic pixel point-and-click with a nice visual charm. My biggest drawback is the story. It feels like it’s almost there, but not quite. The short runtime doesn’t give the narrative enough space to fully develop, which made it hard for me to feel …

While I would have liked a bit more meat on this bite-sized narrative and a little more challenge to its puzzles, Mystery of Silence definitely scratches that weird and creepy short story itch that lends itself so well to point-and-click games. At only an hour and a half long, the tale moves at a fast pace and the discoveries you make as you get closer to the truth are sure to chill you. The eerie soundscape makes …

Really great compact point & click adventure. Interesting story that holds your attention and satisfying puzzles that stay solvable throughout without getting repetitive. I find a lot of horror point & clicks can get a bit self-serious so I loved the way this one offset the gothic tone with humour, while still keeping some creepy atmosphere with the art and music. Definitely a stand-out among small indie games like …

Introduction Scholar Adventure: Mystery of Silence is a point-and-click, mystery, horror adventure game developed by Ayose Trujillo & Making Enemies and published by DevilishGames. You take on the role of William, a young writer who's looking for inspiration. Upon hearing rumors of an abbey shrouded by complete silence, he decides to visit the place. However, after he arrives, he clearly gets more than he bargained for. All the monks remain silent, none of the…

neutral · AI labelView post →My copy was provided by the developer ~2.5 hour horror/mystery adventure (with some comedy that is), maybe a bit shorter than I expected, but I thought the game was made really well and had a playful main character. You avoided 2 very common issues that I see specifically with small pixel art adventure games, that being the game is more responsive than expected, as well as having helpful color coding on the quest items, while also making larger backgrounds that show more detail. I don't think…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A solid but perhaps not remarkable or unique, point and click adventure. It's a typical adventure mystery setting, a remote abbey with a mysterios history and monks who have taken vows of silence. But the story does have a few interesting plot point. It does feel like something that could have come out in the 90:s. It's short, but also on the cheaper side, beeing <8€ so it's a good price IMO. The puzzles where good and where never too much moon logic, even if it wasn't entirely clear what your…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I agree with other reviewers - Mystery of Silence is short (about an hour and half to 100%). Worse, if you've played the demo, you've already played about 70% of the game. And the remaining 30% is much rougher: the narrative feels rushed and there are some bugs (or maybe just poor / lazy design - like Graver turns up in too many places at once). It's also a victim of purple prose, text that feels like it's trying hard to be deep and the result is meaningless noise. (Maybe Silence would have…

positive · AI labelView post →Mystery of Silence is a short point & click adventure that for the most part is relatively easy to play. The atmosphere is appropriately spooky, but the game shoots itself in the foot a little bit with a main character that reacts too joyful and unimpressed to most of the things he is seeing or experiencing. Some of the puzzle solutions are a bit silly and seem to belong in a different game as well, e.g. the part with the scissors or the rock-paper-scissors mini game. The game also stays…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game! Congrats to developers! 100% recommended. Nice effects, nice history... And a bit addictive, I would say haha.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting, fun and it can be finished in a few hours, or less. Btw puzzles are not that hard. Nice point and click adventure, definitely worth the time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short but pretty good old school point & click adventure. No real puzzles, just picking up items and finding out where to use them, which is fairly easy (unless, like yours truly, you fail to realize that you need to use the music box on yourself to open the tower staircase). Rating: ★★★★☆
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recomended! It's an easy and fast-paced game that I really enjoyed. Nice story and retro-pixel graphics.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short but mysterious point and click game with wonderful art and an intriguing atmosphere. I found some of the puzzles a little unintuitive, with interaction prompts highlighting some spots but missing from others. But mostly the puzzles were fair and enjoyable. The story was more of an interesting occult setting than a fully fleshed out plot, but I didn't mind that simply because I did enjoy the art and the setting. I suppose there are longer games of this ilk with a better structured plot,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short but solid point+click experience. There were a couple of places where I got stumped for a bit, which I appreciated. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the game but wish there was more narrative to discover throughout the course of the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →could have a more elaborate gameplay, puzzle structure etc but amazing for a single dev
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good, short, but with a flaccid, lackluster ending. The ride up to it is fun, and it initially gives one "The Last Door" vibes, but the ending arrives abruptly with a wet, anticlimactic "thud."

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fans of The Last Door will definitely love this atmospheric little mystery. Clearly made by someone with a deep love for the Gothic and Romantic literature. Puzzles are generally well thought out (though at the mid-point of the game a couple of them start relying on exploring absolutely everywhere on the map, even if there isn't a clear logical reason for you to go there,) and there's even some quirky humour in there. I would absolutely love a longer, more complex sequel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A modern take on classic point n click mystery games. Use your smooth brain to find the answers to the silent island's puzzles. The puzzles were a nice mix of blatantly obvious and brain stumping. The presentation is great and really does a good job at certain moments doing some creative things with the perspective of the camera. I recommend this if you want to be shrouded in mystery and silence.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it was a good game. its kinda short. i could have finished it in an hour or so. Story is pretty good. I got it on sale so i think it was worth it.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very complete game, very entertained with puzzles, riddles, etc. The design is very cute with a touch that bring back memories from oldest games like Monkey Island. It keeps you hooked on the story and the soundtrack is very beautiful. I really recommend this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great little retro adventure game. Interesting and original story, challenging puzzles, good animation for the genre. Gameplay is decent though a bit too linear at times (e.g., some puzzles are unsolvable until after you have visited certain rooms or spoken to certain characters, despite having all the objects/information you need to solve the puzzles). There are also some pixel-finder puzzles, but that is a common pitfall of the retro style. This game is not terribly long--it took me less…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked this game — it’s short but very intense. While playing, the atmosphere and the music completely draw you in. William is a funny and special character, and I’d love to play again with him in future adventures. I 100% recommend this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A genuinely fun, atmospheric, and interesting point and click. It has a real sense of its own narrative and a distinct point of view, which is hard to find in this genre. There were a few points where the way forward was obscured more by unclear game mechanics than actual mystery, but overall a very good time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Scholar Adventure: Mystery of Silence is a well made, atmospheric game about a writer, William, who unlocks the mysteries of an abbey. The monks have taken a vow of silence, so William must, for the most part, discover the secrets for himself. There is a lot of backtracking through locations, but I didn't mind this too much as the puzzles are not too challenging. I was intrigued by the story, so I wanted to keep progressing it to its satisfying conclusion.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great to have a new pixel game to play. Nice little game. Fairly simple but with enough challenges to make you have to think and try different approaches. Would love to see more of this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short (~2h), straightforward point and click
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had a blast playing this point-and-click adventure. It’s packed with clever humor and some truly epic moments. The story pulled me in right away, the music fits perfectly, and the puzzles are cool, I really enjoyed solving the mystery. The whole setting feels alive and unique. I can’t wait to dive into more episodes and see what happens next!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, but short adventure game (took me about 3 hours at a leisurely pace)...nice story and puzzles; looking forward to more adventures from the developer!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All in all i really enjoyed this game even if it was a short one. Pros: - Interesting story - Great atmosphere - Gotta love the retro pixel art style Cons: - A bit on the short side. (~ 2hrs) - Story migh be a bit confusing a god while into the game - Minor in-game interaction "bugs"
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a point & click adventure game fanatic, I have loved this game. The environment, atmosphere, story and humor are in par with some of the best classics of the genre. It keeps you hooked and guessing for what's next in the story. I enjoyed this game from start to finish and I am looking forward to more games from this developer, hopefully a sequel?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are a fan of the classic Sierra game this is for you! I really hope we get more parts...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is absolutely fun to play, the true spirit of Lucas Arts adventures lay in it. It is very well polished, the art, details, fun comments, sound and music, and above everything, the story that drives the whole game experience. I can't wait to play more William adventures.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little adventure point-and-click game. The puzzles are fun and intuitive apart from the very last one which I had to look up (and was disappointed at how cheap the solution was too). Narratively, I liked where the general themes were heading but I'm afraid the central one that the mystery revolves around went over my head. I always love monastic aesthetics though and I liked the writer protagonist as well. I want to play the next game in the series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/OGIWl7s_-vs Providing little insight into player or protagonist goals it's a slow meagering hunt for ways to progress.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was so enjoyable for it to be so short! One puzzle part had my chat and I so confused!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short and atmospheric adventure game. Music was sparse but definitely created an eerie atmosphere. Solved in 70 mins so its very short, worth it on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good game with an interesting plot and some amusing characters with a bit of creepy (but not too much). I only wish it was a longer and more challenging. I beat the game with all achievements in just over 3 hours, which definitely felt too short. I would still recommend this game and hope that the developer makes a second one, but would like it to be longer and with harder puzzles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Moody and well crafted, short game. The puzzles aren't very complex, but fit the narrative and keep you going. Sound is good, graphics, too. Only thing that was lacking was the story which isn't bad, just failed to create a sense of mystery. Wasn't scary, either. Still had a good time, perfect for a grey weather afternoon.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice art, fun concept, decent puzzles, slightly let down by narrative. 3.5/5. As others mentioned, it's quite short (I played for 2.5 hours but most of that is because I left the game running and went to cook and do various other things.) Length isn't really a problem for me, but others might feel let down. The puzzles are fun enough. Some seem thrown in mostly to break up cutscenes without really adding anything or making sense but 1 or 2 were genuinely quite clever and pleasing to solve.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Compelling story, great atmosphere, nice visuals and music. Highly recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game thus far with an interesting mystery to solve. Looking forward to playing more!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Atmospheric gothic point and click adventure with smooth item use, but short length and occasionally unclear hotspots. You play as William, a writer in search of inspiration. Fortune leads you to a remote abbey accessible only by boat, a place surrounded by rumors about its abbot having gone mad. Once you arrive, you quickly realize that help will not come easily. The monks have taken a strict vow of silence, and their quiet is tied to a much larger secret involving a mysterious musical score…
