What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 41 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (319 of 405 positive).
Players praise the game's story and world-building. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note issues with difficulty and curses. [4][5] Many enjoy the variety of characters and deck options. [6][7][8]

Newer review: So after the latest update in which some card got buffed, character buffs, and most importantly, nerfing the curses. However, the curses still do not respect the player for their skills in deckbuilding. I have reached farther in Reality Difficulty (tier above default difficulty) since this update but am still losing to the curses. In the later half of the game, you have to fight every battle with …

40 hours in and I'm going to recommend this game, with just a few big cons in the end that might spoil it for a few people. PROS: - 10 playing characters & 20 starting decks, with different skills & flavours. - The story is amazing, the world-building is great. More than that... it's actually credible, something very rare nowadays. - The amount of events is incredible. Even after 40 hours, there are still "new" …

This is a great game and I am genuinely addicted to it. I love the huge range of plots you can go down, quests you can solve, great variety of decks (poison specialist and magician are my favorite), the amazingly fun little secrets you can ferret out, and just how big and expansive the world feels. Also great is that every playthrough gives you points that you can use to expand the possibilities of the game with new …

Incredible game. It takes the form of a choose-your-own adventure with obvious roguelite mechanics and deck building that proves to be fairly addictive and interesting. Its not perfect by any means. There is seemingly no way to sell cards you don't want, there is no custom deck from the outset, and higher difficulties are a bit more frustrating than fun due to the way the curses work often reducing the rewards for …

While I would say this is more of a 15$ game, for what it is worth the games story actually has depth and thought put into it. Most games built like tend to be very shallow with no effort into the various quest lines, but this games stories (quest chains) are enjoyable. I just wish the game had some customization / modding tools. I would like to put together some modded quests, locations, and characters.

neutral · AI labelView post →Yeah great. Epic story of various routes going multiple ways...its like a card roguelight in the Fallout universe. But theres a lot of unknowlable stuff making it a tad difficult. Like what the symbols mean on the three choices you get when selecting your next route. RE-REVIEW - Well...yeah, it is a great game in some ways...but it looks like you have to literally play 100s possibly 1000s of times to afford the bonuses to new runs. Ive also noticed there are maybe a dozen times that you can…

This will be my happy ending. Later Playthroughs: lol rob this elderly couple so i can buy a lightning rod and go brrrrrrr

neutral · AI labelView post →This game pretends to be something that it isn't. It tried to be the ultimate card game set in a cool post apocalyptic world, but cohesion of the experience is below average. It feels like gotcha stories more than narrative driven branches of a greater plot. The plots vary so much, that it doesn't feel like you're in a post-apocalyptic world anymore. Then there's the art. It looks cool on the trailers, but once you see them scene after scene, they appear amateurish at best. Not recommending…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Somehow, this game has become my favorite Deckbuiler, by a large margin, the ability to retain block is a game changer that has always made sense but scant few other devs had the guts to go all in, And I actually LOVE the way the story can unfold in different directions depending on your choices and build. Not to mention the glut of DLC that's available with even more stories and directions you can go. I feel with it in this "full game" state, it hasn't even reached the end of its potential,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly has exactly what i want in a card based rogue like, multiple paths, tons of endings, 20 different starting decks along with a good amount of charters to choose from i honestly think you should check this game out
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heads Will Roll IN CARDS! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Also post-apocalypse with knights, magic, guns and i can crush them with my fists! Michael is my oshi. They made Boxing fun and rewarding in a CARD SETTING. Duck -> Stab -> Guard -> Jab -> Hook -> Cross -> channeling inner IPPO! DEMPSEY ROOOOOOOOOOLL -> Jab -> Hook -> Cross. BIG UPS!!!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Localized a bit me, but otherwise fantastic. Really gotta go over those spelling errors.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a mix of deckbuilder roguelike and choose your own adventure. Pretty fun if you like the genre.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the kind of game with "one-more-turnitis" in spades. I do a province, I want to do just one more, until one more becomes hours and hours of one more. Just one more run couldn't hurt right?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the game, hate the story. Please give us a no story option to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd always had a big hunger for deck-building games with the story-rich & apocalyptic lore. In short, if you are just like me, do this game! I first saw this game at a game show in KR, and have been waiting for its release. So happy to play the full game finally. - great graphic / sound - charming characters / stories - large maps - various concepts of decks

Its not perfect by any means. The translations are also a bit spotty. Later…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, worth playing for sure but it has some issues. Mainly lots of bugged / mistranslated cards and abilities, which can be frustrating. Also the "harder" difficulties are pretty lame. You have to choose curse affects every single battle, and aside from making the fights harder / impossible sometimes it also causes a lot of hang and makes battles take longer. I think a difficulty that just has stronger enemies would be nice. There a lot of ending paths but most things are tied to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredibly fun game, thought it would be a cheap play but ended up getting many runs out of it. I'd recommend it but I wouldn't go in expecting much.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tons of different characters and deck building choices. Think of this game as a choose your adventure game with deck building. There are several journeys you can take and some of them more an advantage to your deck than others. Looking forward to the DLCs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought this game was going to suck. I was pleasantly surprised when it did anything but suck! The game is a lot of fun!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →100%. Been to that ground once too often and I won’t return after the preseason “friendly” ~12 years ago. I assume their stewards still play the game of one telling you to sit where you want and another telling you to sit in the seat on your ticket. Shambles
neutral · AI labelView post →Yeah I looked it up too after seeing the insta post and was just confused. They should be trying to promote the women's game but instead we get this. Shambles.
neutral · AI labelView post →This is a *much* better game that it originally appeared to be. The first couple runs were pretty tough until I started getting a feel for the game. There is some fantastic writing going on and these are top notch moral and ethical puzzles constructed in a way that really draws you in and makes the decision making parts of the game even more challenging than the combat phases. This is really good, well worth it to play enough to get yourself drawn into the plot arches. I still want to play it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game deserves a lot more credit than what it is currently getting; there is a learning curve but it feels rewarding to do so, and it really nails the "one more round" vibe. Except that round can take hours long, and before you know it you've played all day long. Not many games can achieve evoking such a response anymore, but Shambles certainly manages to do so. There's a multitude of stories and outcomes as well which is easy to get invested into, and it even has a 'Pokedex-like'…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome narrative deckbuilder great deckbuilding with lots of options equipment and skill tree expand that even more stories are interesting, too

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its not bad still wish elder scrolls legends was still around
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game with lots of events, characters, achievements, upgrades, skill trees, weapons and a good story with varied story elements and events with a card battle system in a turn based combat system. Very good graphics and exceptionally good story and music with all sort of events and characters. A wonderful card battling system in a post-apocalyptic setting with one of the best tutorials in the history of game-kind. :P

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shambles: Sons of Apocalypse is an ambitious blend of narrative RPG, roguelike progression, deckbuilding, and turn-based strategy that succeeds in delivering a memorable post-apocalyptic adventure. Developed by EXLIX and published by GRAVITY, the game takes place centuries after humanity escaped to underground shelters to survive a devastating global catastrophe. Five hundred years later, civilization is finally prepared to step back onto the surface, placing players in the role of an explorer…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turns out that Rocket League has a hard numerical cap on how many players you can block. Which means I'm now stuck not being able to actually block any more toxic players because I've been diligent about blocking toxic players. Absolute shambles. (Measuring the GUI for the blocked players pane suggests you can only block ~540 players: pane shows 12 players, scrollbar is ~70px, gutter is ~430px, moving by one set of 12 players is 8px. Which probably makes it 512 players for the power-of-2…
neutral · AI labelView post →It's Slay the Spire with FFX node level up system. Many games like this have the fights few battles or hours exactly the same. I played 3 runs so far and each one was vastly different.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very unusual deckbuild with a plot and a ton... sometimes you even think there are too many choices to make. But that's the whole point, I suppose. Highly recommended.

neutral · AI labelView post →I hardly ever played Card(deck) games because it's boring without a good story to back it up. Bramble is quite deep and very fun to play. The choices are very meaningful and the game mechanic are refreshing. And I can't stop playing this game!
