Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 170 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (1,387 of 1,740 positive).
Some reviewers note that certain levels require very specific builds to beat, limiting experimentation. [1][2][3] Technical issues like lag and crashes are reported, especially on console. [4][5][6]

This game needs substantial QoL updates, before I can recommend it anyone. You cannot outrun any enemies, even if you have the faster slimes, and cards to slow enemies, so I have no idea why those even exist. Your hitbox is also immense, an enemy will reach you, stop to attack, you can now be half a screen away and that would still hit you. It also forces you to grind for levels and upgrade points. Which would be …

The game is okay, but after about 2 hours (conveniently the cutoff for refunds), there is an insane difficulty spike around level 6 The first ~5 levels are pretty chill/easy and you can experiment with different builds. After that though, there are levels which are borderline impossible unless you choose a specific character and a hyper specific cheese build. I tried 5-10 attempts with various builds and it wasn’t …

Easily my favorite "survivor-like." The pixel art is masterful, and the entire presentation brims with details, but that isn't even my favorite part. The game itself feels intentionally designed. The game pushes back. Unlike most of the other games I've played in the genre, this one isn't "an idle game with extra steps." Player's are expected to interact with all of the game's systems to get through it. Absent …

TL;DR: Slime 3K: Rise Against Despot is a brilliant, "slimy" hidden gem that evolves the bullet-heaven genre with deep deck-building strategy. While it suffers from late-game frame drops and a frustratingly limited deck-save system, its addictive synergy-based combat and top-tier soundtrack make it a 9/10 "must-play" for fans of the genre. Review: Slime 3K: Rise Against Despot Verdict: 9/10 This is a slam-dunk of an …

This is one of those "I obviously enjoyed myself BUT" games. The BUT being that this should almost be tagged as an action/combat puzzle game a bit more than it is, and I think that quirk of this game is what makes me question if I wanna recommend this or not. It's strange: They give you all the mechanics to explore and play around with a lot of unique tags, but more often throw you into maps where the only way to …

Play as a sentient pile of disgusting goo and use crazy abilities like a giant bullet, a yo-yo, or... a watermelon to wipe out hordes of enemies. Check it out on Steam & consoles: linktr.ee/slime3k

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Blueballed by a survivor-like The first few hours of the game are pretty decent. You see the amount of cards, the passive bonus system for building cards with specific tags, a handful of characters, edgy humor. Then you play a few more hours and you are facing imbalanced levels that either force you to grind meta-upgrades and play with an exact build, or letting you pass absolutely blindly. Unlockable cards are in an okayish state. but a big amount of them feel purely cosmetic. The tag…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Vampire Survivors-like. Leveling creates a shop instead of giving you a weapon choice. You only get money by opening said shops or from random drops. Weapons feel very weak. There is a deck building mechanic (wow my favorite), which is probably why the balancing is so wild, since you can just focus on the good weapons and ban the bad ones. Permanent upgrades are a joke. Aside being too specific to unlock (Finish a specific level while having 4 level 2 weapons of X kind in your inventory),…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's aight. The core gameplay loop is decent, and there's some fun to be had, but the difficulty spikes feel off—like they're not earned or organically paced. One moment you're breezing through, the next you're getting slapped out of nowhere. It throws off the flow and makes progression feel more frustrating than challenging. Something about it just doesn’t click right—maybe it’s the balance or pacing, but it needs some tuning.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are better Bullet Heaven / Survivor-Likes on the market. This one feels that certain levels can only be beaten with certain builds, and some levels are way easier or harder than others for no reason it feels like.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: Stuck on level 3 and that doesn't feel good. Slime 3k stays true to the previous games, Despotism 3k and Despot's Game, in its style, humour, and... difficulty. I'm stuck unable to complete level 3 and the way I fail without hope of getting further just doesn't feel good. Despot's Game had the same feeling but team comp, upgrades, and some luck had more of an impact. Here it's too early to have many options and I refuse to grind the same level to unlock more options. Otherwise…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too many difficulty spikes and too many different levels requiring builds of a certain variety. For every level you can pass with anything, there is another around the corner that requires something ultra specific. I gave this game several chances, with several patches, but this game is just a hassle. Wack hit boxes, annoying ass level design, and unlockables being a pain, all come together to form a tedious contraption.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →dont know there is potential but its somehow not fun and just frustrating it dont feel good to play and deckbuilding plus unlocking things is just meh
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's got the basic right, but after a couple of hours it just doesn't feel compelling. The difficulty gets a bit too much, unless you work out very specific builds to use for specific scenarios, and then it feels like you're just executing the same thing over and over. Meta-progression is slow and shallow. It feels like you're making barely any progress between runs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not really worth your time. Halls of Torment is a better alternative.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Several glaring flaws with this game - Barely any metaprogression at all which is a huge issue since this game is incredibly repetative - Deckbuilding is just annoying and tedious, when i play Action Roguelikes i just want to jump in and play, not sit there and edit out items that will appear/not appear and swap that between runs. This also makes you use less weapons since you'll just edit out the bad ones and spam the good ones if you want to win. - Weapon design is just lazy and a lot of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As far as obscure roguelites go, Slime 3K is pretty darn good. It has enough ability variety to be interesting (unlike Keeper's Toll which I tried last week) though your journey through this game will constantly have you stuck on a level, wondering what secret sauce is needed to make it through. This is the sort of thing Halls of Torment would do with difficult achievements, rather than just passing the levels themselves and I much prefer the latter's approach with this. I don't think…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I could love this game but the grind is too much for me. They patched level 6 to be actually beatable but the overall balance is still horrendous; there's no room for experimentation in builds because a) it takes probably upwards of 100 hours to unlock all the abilities which are few and very far between, and b) each level is pretty much only beatable by a single build anyway. I'd love to try all kinds of builds and levels, because the game itself is very endearing and fun to play…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →while I'd love to pick apart all of the stuff this game did poorly, I'll instead tell you that three times while doing a run for "No Hands," the boss kill loot was spawned directly on top of me, negating my run. The boss kill loot, by the way, is totally useless--some level ups good for that run only, however mere moments after the boss death, you are yanked out of the game, yielding the reward fruitless. Noticing a flaw in your system ('we keep spawning drops in front of the player and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All in all it's good fun. Unfortunately there are a couple of levels where - at some point - the lag happens. And once it happens you can see a slideshow and your healthbar drops chunk by chunk... I think the Shuriken, combined with lots of enemies makes this happen. Get it, if it's on sale and you'll have a couple of days of fun with it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slime 3K: Rise Against Despot pros: //fast game with modern day graphics with easy controls that moves from location A to B to C and so on //good amount of action and special effects cons: //some difficult battles/boss battles //some overpowered enemies //could use more powerups and loot //sometimes too many enemies constantly spawn //sometimes too many enemies fill the screen and make it difficult to evade //upgrades require a lot of resources //collecting resources are a grindfest //unlocking…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fine game. I don't understand why there are so many negatives. Just another Vampire Survivors like.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is pretty weak compared to the previous ones in the series. It is monotonous and gets boring very quickly. The combat is the same from level to level - run and twist the mouse. That's all. It is very sad that the creators have not made something more diverse and exciting.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Should have returned it from the start, but I wanted to give it a chance because it looked good. Art is amazing, but the art doesn't really matter on a game like this where you're not really able to see what's going on with the enemies most of the time anyway. The important part is the gameplay, and the gameplay is really boring on this one. Bonus points for trying new things, but the design choices really ruined the game overall.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After 11.1 hours of gameplay and earning 51% of the achievements, here's my honest take on Slime 3K: Rise Against Despot: 📝 TL;DR: I gave this game a thumbs-up, but only because there's no middle-ground option. Slime 3K has some neat mechanics and level variety, but it doesn't grip me like other games. I mostly play it when I'm bored and want to chase achievements, not because I'm particularly invested. 🧪 Gameplay: Slime 3K blends action, strategy, and deck-building in a quirky, chaotic…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just play vampire survivors
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Actually a "neutral". Level 3 already got difficult and I couldn't beat level 4. I did it after grinding points to spend on meta upgrades and unlocking better weapons. However my screen was full of projectiles, enemies and more. Total chaos. But anything less would not have dealt the damage to beat the level. Also my game started to lag. Now remember this was just level 4 of like 20. Balance feels off in this game. I'll probably not continue. The animation is slick however.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels flat and repetitive.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brilliant arena twinstick shooter with a dash of bullethell, some roguelite and a bit of deck building (your strategic weapon layout). The sprite work and animation already make this game a delight, but the way how the flood of enemies flow around obstacles is super neat. The weapons are all very unique and often even pretty funny. It's bonkers, that the shotgun in this pixel romp sounds better than what's in most AAAA FPS games. The whole game is just fun and the complete package very on point.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It doesn't provide enough challenge to keep playing. not a lot of strategy involved
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun Vampire Survivors clone. Good pixel art. Interesting weapon/perk synergies. Not a lot of easter eggs, at least not that I could find.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was stuck on level 10 for quite some time. This is not a bad place to be -- it's the best level for farming DNA, and very good for XP -- every failure unlocked a card -- but the experience wasn't great: I could do the level itself fine, and then the green flowers that spawned with the boss would surround and murder me, and I couldn't do enough damage to make a real dent in them. I got through by seeing a video of someone playing the game in a completely different way: it seems a limited…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is possibly one of my favorite roguelite games in my library
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute, but not for me. The art style is the best part, but the combat wasn't satisfying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, beautiful Survivors-like game with great music and minor grind
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely mid, countless better games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Im about 4 hours in and im having a lot of fun in a 5 usd game. I have no idea what these negative crack addicts are smoking and i don't even like deck building games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun deckbuilding Vampire Survivors clone that I had to admittedly shelve and stop playing immediately after buying because the gameplay turned me off. It wasn't until I buckled down and play Vampire Survivors that I was able to appreciate a bit more how the gameplay progression works in this game. Definitely for not everyone but great for fans of action arcade roguelites, horde games, deckbuilders and Vampire Survivor clones. Emphasis on action arcade roguelite, if you don't like replaying…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely art and animation, but the awful colour scheme needlessly complicates the combat by making it hard to tell anything apart at a glance, which is essential in the genre. The game also lacks any form of meta progression other than unlocking new cards.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Uses things like pentagrams.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a banger! You have to get familiar with all of the game mechanics, though! This is where a lot of bad reviews come from. Most of these reviews underestimate how many game mechanics there are to get ahead in the game. I just found out about a lot of them by accident. Things could just be explained better, but that’s like wanting a strategy game to tell you what strategy would be the best, which would miss the whole point of having to find the perfect strategy in a video game in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Every good and bad thing you've heard about this game is true.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's really mid. it has all the parts to be something cool but it never pulls itself together. builds feel to limiting well also being tied behind a grind that frankly takes too long to unlock everything. so you end up playing a lot of the same thing. deep rock has sorta the same issue but it's got a lot of spining plates to get power. the game is totally locked around you visting shops to get money. since there's no fusions or bonus items it's all about getting the items you want and leveling…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all the artwork is great, there's a good variety of weapons, some specific challenges to do, and there's loads of upgrades too. There are a couple of levels that act as 'difficulty bottlenecks' that force you to try out new decks/weapons, but I liked that aspect of the game. Got nearly 30 hours of fun out of it and fully completed it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's one of these games that is fun until it isn't, then negates previous fun. It has "special" levels that are downright annoying, stopped playing at the one where you're peppered with slowing bullets, and it's just run after run of a few minutes just to get stuck and insta killed.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If it would make fun the grind would be okay. But its just grindy. Due to the deckbuilding atleast Luck has been taken out, but somehow you still feel weak.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid mix of bullet hell, roguelite, and deck building with really good pixel art. Pulls ideas from many popular games but mashes them together in a way that actually feels fresh. Winning is more about smart deck building and picking the right slime than quick reflexes. Lots of content and card synergies keep it interesting. The art has character and the enemy designs get pretty absurd. Worth the price if you like these kinds of games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slime, the unmatched BLOB. Had fun with the build to become the absolute monster and was steady to get too. I like the different things you have to face, and some missions were challenges like only bosses or flying only good stuff. Like other games of this genre, it kept my mind busy and was fun to complete. But I did find the end just ABIT like small of a grind. But I am %100, so I can understand the bit of the grind at the end. Nevertheless, I do recommend it. Could be a good sequel…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best looking bullet heavens I've played. The pixel art is some of the best I've seen. Interesting levelling up system for weapons. It works, takes some getting used to. All in all, an interesting and fun experience, just difficult enough to keep me playing, and again, it looks great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would not recommend unless it receives major overhauls in the meta scaling, difficulty and respect for the players time. It's unfortunate because the pixel art is great and I like some of the ideas. But, it's just not worth it when you have to experiment time and time again with each attempt taking agonising minutes because of difficulty brick walls. Did you ♥♥♥♥ up, is your deck terrible or did you not grind enough for meta upgrades. You'll never know so just keep bashing your head until…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very mediocre bullet heaven
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →MASSIVE issue. I can't find BxCx's OST for this, anywhere. I am literally playing the game, solely to hear the amazing soundtrack. This one has been perfect on the Deck for me, for when I wan't something fun to pass the time with. I'm always a fan of Konfa Games stuff, and absolutely love the sprite work. It's a great game to look at and listen to.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I should have spent the money on malt liquor and scratchers instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Art 4/5 Gameplay 3/5 Stability 0/5 This game is disappointing for a number of reasons. It has been released for two years now and has yet to see any meaningful Quality of Life updates and the amount of memory it uses is a nightmare. If your computer ware is more than 2 years old, don't bother installing this as you'll make it past the first 5 levels and begin to slow down with the number of enemies and projectiles on the screen. Somehow other games are able to make it work, just not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great art style, great soundtrack, not too difficult (despite other reviews) and I love the card synergy which encourages you to play around with different combinations, where you can discover hidden buffed combos. Usually one or two of these hidden card combinations will break the game, which we all love and strive for in survivorlites, right? The length of the rounds is much less than VS, which I find more satisfying. The only negative thusfar is the game will drop to about 15-20 FPS on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Go waste time on something better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very fun!!!!! all the abilities are very satisfying to use. actually feels good to get them to the highest level and to watch them in action. also the game is beautiful. it runs amazing on the steam deck if you're into that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh, yeah! I work as one of the artists at Konfa Games, so we recently got to 1.0 release of our game, that called "Slime 3K: Rise Against Despot". You can try it if you want: linktr.ee/slime3k
