It's another solid entry in the Sniper Elite series. Be aware that there are issues with DX12 and RTX 30 series cards that cause the game to crash. You can boot the game using Vulcan, but then the game will randomly crash while zoomed in. This is a known issue since launch that the devs failed to address before moving on to the next entry.

An excellent way to shoot all Nazis. If there are any Nazis still breathing when you leave the mission, you didn't shoot enough Nazis. I also really got a good dopamine hit when I landed those long-shot challenges. Putting the whole series on sale on 9/10 was also an ingenious move.

I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it is. As a long time Hitman fan, this was superb. I had never played the fourth entry before, though I went through the first three, which were solid but lacked the incredible environmental design found here. Some of these missions have the best layouts I’ve ever played, and the third mission genuinely stunned me. It hooked me the same way Hitman does making me want to revisit …

Recommend? Yes, absolutely... but sadly another game tainted by DLC. Base game = Excellent. Very few complaints. I started dabbling in the SE series starting with the OG and V2 remastered, but really got into it with 3 onward. I would rate this the best among 3, 4 and 5 as far as the which I've enjoyed the most. 5 has most of the good aspects of 4 but with bigger maps with more options of routes and how to approach. …

Critics, per Wikipedia
Sniper Elite 5 received "generally favorable" reviews, according to review aggregator website Metacritic. EGM called Sniper Elite 5 "the best game in the series so far", citing its intricate level design, deep weapon customisation system, and satisfying gameplay as its strengths, while taking issue with its underdeveloped characters and story. Eurogamer felt that the title was "a true great of the genre" and "one of the most entertaining games of the year" due to its flexible sandboxes and imaginative interactive representation of World War II. GameSpot claimed that the game's strengths rested in the core sniping experience, encouragement of player agency, tense multiplayer invasions, and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never buy this on full price!!!! (PLEASE READ BEFORE BUY) My problems: (JUMP TO THE 4th POINT FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IF YOU WANT TO READ IT QUICK) 1. The maps are boring ,rushed and dont feel like a sniper game, they basically force you to use your secondary weapons with silencer to complete harder missions and that is why many people comper it to Hitman WOA, but for example in Hitman you can play a map 10+ times and still have fun and that's a huge difference. This game is just…

positive · AI labelView post →Yeah its cute and all but I find it incredibly frustrating that there are invisible walls everywhere. In a sniper game of all games, I want to be able to scout around the objective freely to find all the NPCs, make a plan, and start picking them off. The game forces you to go in the front door without even knowing what building youre going into or whats around it. Extremely disorientating and the opposite of what a sniper game should be... Yes I can just shoot everyone on sight as I clear the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AI behaviour in this game is some of the worst I've seen in a long darn time, would not reccomend for the single player experience alone
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I refuse to play games with Kernel Level Anti Cheat, not a cheater, just a rational thinker that doesn't want their computer to get hacked in a bad way. This game allows me to play offline without ever installing that garbage EAC and for that reason alone they get my Thumbs up. Nothing about the game just about the business practice.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Many aspects of this game are enjoyable but they are completely overshadowed by how ass the game feels to play at times. Sniper Elite 4 had a perfectly functioning movement & interaction system that for some reason was left in the dust. Controlling the character feels like trying to control a drunk horse at times (not to mention you may end up getting stuck in a random bush that for some reason needed a collider). On top of that, interaction controls overlap such that you at times will end up…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It feels like the devs designed the missions for a covert agent, not a sniper. In most situations, a silenced pistol ends up being way more practical and useful than a sniper rifle. The mission objective markers and general guidance arent great either. I lost count of how many times I spent ages running back and forth across the map just looking for a single demolition charge. The overall experience really isnt that great.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I found the game to be disappointing when compared to the previous title Sniper Elite 4, which in my opinion had it all perfect. Even if I haven't played this game nearly as much as Sniper Elite 4, I noticed it to be a huge downgrade in essentially every aspect of the game. Things such as movement, kill cameras and in my opinion graphics were a huge letdown for me. I wouldn't say the game is horrible, but definitely far from being good in my opinion, there is still work that needs to be done to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short Version: This game is a heavily watered down experience compared to previous entries. If you are looking at getting into Sniper Elite as a franchise do not start with this. Start with V2, 3, or 4. They only get better as you go on from V2. I really hope they cook hard for Sniper Elite 6 when/if it comes out. This game is a pretty heavy departure in style from the previous entries and that is, in my opinion, to it's detriment. Long Version: This game feels like an overall regression for…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't expect but this is the best part and the best sniper game. Each map is living, vehicles are moving everywhere, motorbike patrols the streets, truck driver shows documents to pass the post, officers are resting and soldiers are working. But if they notice you, they are running to set the alarm ASAP and you have to deal with a truck full of heavily armed special forces troops (feels sweaty on max difficulty). I love first person view for iron sight weapons, finally SMGs and pistols are…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As an unconditional fan of the Sniper Elite franchise, I must analyze the fifth installment, which undoubtedly has its highs and lows. To begin with, this fifth installment is essentially identical to the fourth in terms of mission structure and gameplay formula. This is generally not a bad thing, since, gameplay-wise, Sniper Elite 4 is a very good game. Possibly, one of the few aspects I liked the most is the atmosphere and the well-crafted levels. And here comes the negative part.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did not have fun with this game. Other games in the series were more fun, probably because there were smaller maps and the focus was more on sniping than it was on stealth. The focus on stealth and mission objectives are not why I played the series in the first place. I liked mostly the shooting from a distance in previous games, and taking out enemies before they realized I was there. I don't so much like the moving around so much, and the large maps here make it less fun. Also, I get…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is pretty good, but seperating the main campaign from the base game and including it in DLC is just such a scummy move from the developers, especially considering the fact that DLC is much more expensive than the base game.

neutral · AI labelView post →Game felt lifeless. Dumb AI even in hardest difficulty. Game is too predictable and story is boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Did anyone on the team behind Sniper Elite 5 actually play their own game? The movement feels unbelievably stiff — Karl handles like he’s pushing 80 instead of being a trained WWII operative. Reloading a pistol takes what feels like three full seconds. With that kind of “fitness” and reaction time, how is this guy supposed to survive a battlefield? And the traversal makes even less sense. Why can’t you just drop down from a low wall? We’re talking about something under two meters, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't know what to expect when my friend asked me to play, but it's safe to say that it was a delight from start to finish. The story exists for the gameplay to make sense and I can't complain, every single kill felt satisfying and entertaining. Its a shame the game ended so fast, but I'm definitely hooked on the series and looking forward to playing older titles from the franchise.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a pity because I really liked sniping on authentic difficulty. I even compared it with Arma (but pve). The promise to player was fulfilled until the level Secret Weapons. Pros: Gun is fun. All the game mechanics work pretty well together. AI logic is sometimes dicey but their behavior can still be learned to some degree, making headshots way more satisfying. However I don't know what the designers were smoking when they got to the later levels. Invisible walls everywhere to block path,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So basically this is one giant DLC for Sniper Elite 5. It's just all set in Vichy France this time. They didn't really change the game at all. Honestly, it's fine, fuck it. It's a great formula. I spent 3 hours on a single level systemically murdering Nazis with just teller mines
neutral · AI labelView post →Reviewing (mostly) every game (or DLC) in my library, part 666: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (9/10) Is it strange to call Sniper Elite 5 ("SE5") a beautiful game, unironically? Like, subject matter aside, shooting a dude in the testicles is objectively gross, especially when you hear a squelch and see a human skeleton. I dunno, I guess I have a weak stomach. But, like, SE5 is a beautiful game. I don't mean the graphics, though, but wow is the game gorgeous. I'm talking about the way it lets you move…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's in line with other sniper elite games. Whether you want to be sneaky beaky or go guns blazing, that's completely up to you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing Sniper Elite 5's last DLC mission while rolling script stuff around in my head since my brain is percolating too much to read and on one hand I'm considering playing Resistance after this, but on the other I'm considering doing the whole game again on Authentic. So I'm pretty hooked.
positive · AI labelView post →Not recommended. I've played every installment since the first game, but I think it's time for me to quit this game. I got stuck on trees, rocks, walls - you name it. Two enemies drove their motorcycle into a lightpole and got stuck there. I walked up to them and shot them. They didn't even notice. The experience is generally the same as before; sneak until you're bored and shoot someone. Quickly move to somewhere else and they'll forget about your existence in 5 minutes. It gets tedious very…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The problem was the gameplay. I thought it was a step back from the fourth game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played this game series since the original. I've always loved the games. This one was no exception. I will note the following - Yes, the levels are long. Previous games I played, levels may take 1 hour, 1.5 hours. These maps are HUGE with so many things to do. Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy it. But be prepared for this since you won't be finishing this game anytime soon. Again, for a single player game, is a GREAT thing to me. So, it's not a complaint. If anything, I want to say…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I admit it took a bit to get a good handle on the mechanics in Sniper Elite 5 but I definitely find game fun now that I have settled into a sort of rhythm so scout, snipe, infiltrate, repeat across various locations. Probably end up picking up Resistence next when I finish with this one.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Every time I launch this game it pops up an Epic Games web page, even though I have cross play disabled. If I wanted Epic Games garbage I would have bought it there.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For me it would be Sniper Elite 5 busting the door down to find me pinned down by a Korvax from No Man's Sky. I'm in the middle of a 45 hour NMS replay and I just can't stop! That game is insanely addictive, specially since they added customisable Corvettes.
neutral · AI labelView post →Sniper Elite 5 gives me exactly what I want from a sniper game: big maps, careful planning, ridiculous long shots, and the beautiful horror show that is the X-ray kill cam. The best part of these games is always the setup. Finding a good vantage point, tagging enemies, watching patrols, planning the route, holding your breath, and waiting for that perfect shot. When it lands, it feels so satisfying. Horrible for the enemy’s organs, great for my dopamine. This one feels smoother and more…

neutral · AI labelView post →A good entry in the series! Sniper Elite 5 takes the adventure to France, with even wider and dynamic levels than before. The gameplay and the story remain en par with other entries in the franchise; there are few changes that work and few that are negligible. The campaign, one that I played in co-op with my friend Alb, has some very strong and impressive levels at the beginning, but some underwhelming ones towards the end. The gameplay is fun and it feels more refined than before, tho the…

neutral · AI labelView post →Really fun. Basically Hitman in World War 2 with a little less immersive sim to it. Had a really fun time sneaking around and working out the best way to approach missions. Also found it fun that you'll stumble across different missions to do in the maps that are actually quite big. Would definitely recommend this one if you want to play a stealth sim.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sniper games and me don't mix with the exception of ancient Delta Force from 1998. That is the starter. All the games here between have been shelved really quick yet this one works for me. Maybe it's because in this game you DO lug around the rifle but it is not elevated to a pedestal. You got your trusty pistol and SMG too and all of them can be kitted out to match your style or needs in a mission. Your backpack is also just jam packed with various toys you can use to mess with people.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/10 at best. It feels like a step back from SE4 in terms of level design and mission objectives. So many objectives require satchel charges but you don't spawn with any, so it's just a case of wandering around the map looking for them. It also seems way too easy - I'm halfway through and still haven't encountered any vehicles. The gunplay feels good, there's a decent amount of weapon customisation, and I like being able to ADS. Graphics and performance are both really good. There's only 9…

neutral · AI labelView post →It's just a level pack for Sniper Elite 5 repackaged as a new game. They didn't introduce a single new feature, and the levels are mostly just reused assets from 5 with new layouts. And even 5 struggled to stand out from 4. I actually think it's a series that could use a refresh. Maybe a time jump to a different war or a move to a different theatre/front. Or go full alt history and have us killing Nazis in other time periods. And not just Cold War era or modern Nazi killing: Sci-fi Nazi…
negative · AI labelView post →Incredibly boring sniper game that hinders some great spots, (in most parts) forcing you to get closer, it feels so forced it laughable. Feels like a PS3 game, boring and basic
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the better entries in the Sniper Elite franchise. Stealth lovers will feel right at home. But if you like big loud booms, there's plenty to like in this game as well. The game borrows quite some familiar mechanics used in other titles, but they’re implemented well, and that ultimately works in its favor. Story has never been the franchise’s strong point, and that remains true in this game too. What it offers instead is a great sandbox experience that becomes even more enjoyable in coop.
