Players find the game fun and funny, especially for South Park fans. [1][2][3] Many complain about the mandatory Ubisoft launcher and account requirement. [4][5][6] Some prefer the predecessor Stick of Truth over this sequel. [7][8][9]

This game is filled with fan-service, though the game does not offer the exact same depth we know from the series. Thankfully the videogame itself is a lot of fun and will keep you laughing for many hours.

Ultimately, I do think The Stick of Truth is better, but this game is still absolutely on brand and they tried to do something new and distinct from the last game. More companies should do this. If you like South Park, you're going to like this. If you don't like South Park, why are you here?

South Park: The Fractured But Whole (best game name I've ever seen lol) is a direct sequel to Stick of Truth, improving in most aspects of its predecessor. Your objective this time is to protect South Park with your superhero powers, alongside multiple South Park characters using their superhero personas, while trying to get money for everyone's franchise. You choose from a multitude of superheroes classes, and mix …

Critics, per Wikipedia
South Park: The Fractured but Whole received positive reviews from critics. Review aggregator website Metacritic provides the consensus "generally favorable reviews" for the PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One versions. Like its predecessor, the game was considered a successful adaptation, with GamesRadar+ calling it "the truest, best adaptation" of South Park ever made, with well balanced comedy and humor, and IGN saying it looks and sounds like an episode of the show. Giant Bomb, GamesRadar+, and Shacknews said it was an improvement in nearly every way over The Stick of Truth, being deeper and more polished than its predecessor. GamesRadar+ added that after twenty years, a South Park…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good game. Fun to play, true to source material, all that. My would not recommend is because you are required to use Ubisoft's stupid launcher, and it sucks.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great singleplayer game however u cannot play it without an internet connection and ubisoft spyware launcher. scammy garbage
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't play this game on my deck on my flight because it needs to connect to Ubisoft. Please don't buy from this garbage company.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably the greatest cartoon RPG of all time. Wouldn't know because Ubi's DRM keeps crashing so I can't actually play the game I paid for.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game but I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate ubisoft and their stupid launcher just let me play the game - ♥♥♥♥ ubisoft
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is NOT playable if you refuse the ubisoft launcher, you need an account otherwise you cant play it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The newest update broke the ubisoft connect installer. Can't even open the game anymore. ♥♥♥♥ you Ubisoft
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't play the game I paid for because I don't have access to my old Ubisoft Connect account. Ubisoft need to hurry up and go bankrupt already.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it holds up pretty well: its basically a south park movie, but in a video game form if ubisoft wasnt one of the worst companies, it would be a much easier recomend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Full disclosure: I actually really enjoyed this game, but the Ubisoft Connect launcher is the main reason why I can't recommend it to others right now. The hardest part about the game was starting it. Every time you try and start the game, the Ubisoft Connect launcher tries to sync save games and achievements. However, there were so many times where it said it failed to connect and/or sync, and the only way to fix it would be to restart my PC. It's one of the most annoying things I've ever…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game doesn't work -- It requires you to create a Ubisoft account and if your birthday is on a leap year it won't let you create an account.. Stupid.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →!! DO NOT BUY !! The game is currently broken because of the Ubisoft launcher conflicting with Steam
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♥♥♥♥ ubisoft for singlehandedly making this game unplayable for me by refusing to sign me in on the account I made 15 SECONDS BEFORE TRYING TO SIGN IN. Good game, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible horrible company

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: Fun turn based game to enjoy Cons: Downloading Ubisoft launcher + underwhelming ending
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great sequel this is. I enjoyed mixing my power sets. This feels like you are watching more South Park episodes. For any South Park fans out there, I highly recommend this. Also the difficulty setting is the funniest thing depending on if you play easy or hard.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a polysexual genderfluid native American lawful neutral agnostic, it was very fun and inclusive!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is great, but the Ubisoft launcher ruins everything. I wanted to play for the first time without DLC, but it is completely unclear how to disable them in the launcher, and I did not want to waste another hour to figure it out. Besides, I had to turn off Ubisoft notifications in the launcher settings that constantly appeared during the game. Also, it is unclear why Ubisoft Club is even needed if the button in the game does not work anyway. In addition to everything, registration is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not as good as the first game. Got pretty far in and ran into a bug where my hud disappears between rounds of combat, forcing me to alt tab to get it to reappear. That gets really annoying during timed interactions like fighting spontaneous bootay. On top of that you need to use Ubisoft connect and have an account to even play these games. Definitely wouldn't pick this up for full price, if you wanna check it you should probably wait for sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If the battle/turn locks up during play, Alt-Tab out of the game and back. Seems to be a prevalent issue, but it should fix it. The game is good, though I think Obsidian Entertainment did it better with the Stick of Truth. Still, it's worth a playthrough for some of the ludicrous situations the characters end up in, and the over the top dialogue. The DLCs are fine, but can be skipped.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ubislop forces you to login with their launcher to play the game, and the game itself has some pretty annoying crashes. Gameplay is different than the 1st but not bad, just jarring at first. Overall not worth the time but I can't refund so I'll get my money's worth I guess. A bit of polishing and removing the ubislop launcher would make it solid. Also the forced cutscenes are funny the first time, but annoying the 2nd. Just a thought
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Cannot connect to Ubisoft", Great, I have a game I paid for in full and cannot play because Ubisoft needs its 3rd party BS. If I could launch through steam it would run. Don't buy and support this garbage. The game itself is great.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TM: TM suffers from Ubisoft. If you like South Park, The Fractured But Whole is a long episode you get to play through. It's a direct sequel to the Stick of Truth, and was fun for me. There are some issues with the game (on steamdeck I experienced combat effectively fast forwarding and enemies skipping their activations, both issues were rare) and achievements (The Token Experience failed to unlock after my first playthrough). Those issues could be disregarded if Ubisoft allowed you to play…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →had to download ubisoft connect and make an account before i could play the game that i bought
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stop forcing peope ro use your buggy ubisoft launcher. We've already logged in into steam, we don't want to log in anymore. Also the launcher fails to launch 4/5 times saying that the game couldn't be activated. I literally just bought this from steam, what the hell?

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →By far the funniest game I have ever played. I laughed so hard that I woke my wife up - playing at night has its drawbacks. Recommended for every true blooded RPG fan.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ubisoft launcher and requiring to create an account was annoying but great game otherwise. Wish there were more fast travel points because of the amount of walking around required in this game but the writing (which is the real reason to play this game) makes it well worth it. If you're a fan of the series, I highly recommend picking it up if it's on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game ruined by 3rd party launcher. Also unskippable combat animations makes the fights longer than they could be. Unlike the stick of the truth it has some flaws.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is funny, the combat is good, but I cannot recommend this game with its current inclusion of a third-party launcher. Ubisoft Connect doesn't always connect, and on those occasions, the game is literally unplayable. Try this title "elsewhere" before you buy this here.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so frickidickidy fun i would recommend to the racists out there (i am not one of them for reference)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just bought the game, and i can't even play it, because when i try to open it ubisoft's launcher opens and says that i need a verification code that i didn't receive, i contacted ubisoft's support because it's a problem of their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ launcher, and they're not responding, i played this game before on nintendo switch and it was a beutiful game, but obviously on pc ubisoft's launcher has to ruin everything UPDATE: they responded after 1 day, and they said that i need to uninstal steam and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a well made, funny RPG, as I understand it. It's a f***ing shame then, that I'll never play it, since I loathe the Ubisoft launcher. You have to open it and sign in to even play this game. Nope. This gets a downvote.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Funny if you really like south park. The combat is much worse than the system in stick of truth and you have to launch it from ubisoft's horrendous launcher. While I do recommend playing it if you like stick of truth, I don't recommend buying it at full price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game's okay. Ubisoft launcher and saves are total trash with absolutely no support or fixes. Save your money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Would recommend if you're a South Park fan there is a lot of neat references. I would recommend to get it on sale sense it would be financially responsible. However the game is worth it regardless.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is an acquired taste. If you're not easily offended and are a fan of South Park, then this game is for you. PROS: - Funny and engaging story. - Smooth gameplay on the Steam Deck CONS: - None
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have 400+ hours in this game, so it's safe to say I love it. Still hoping they eventually do the villain game follow up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stick of Truth was lightning in a bottle and everybody knows it. Fractured But Whole isn't that, but it's still a damn good time if South Park lives rent free in your head the way it does for a lot of us. The superhero angle works, the writing is still sharp enough to make you laugh out loud at stuff you probably shouldn't be laughing at, and the way they drop you directly into the story as an actual character rather than a bystander is something the show does better than basically any other…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Came in expecting more of *Stick of Truth*… got exactly that, just with capes, better combat, and way more fart-based strategy than any game should legally have. The grid combat actually adds some real thinking this time, and mixing classes is surprisingly fun. It still feels like playing a full South Park episode same humor, same chaos. If you like the show, you’ll have a great time. If you don’t… this will not change your mind. **Pros:** * Fun, more tactical combat * Feels like a playable…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ubisoft can literally eat my entire Fractured But Whole. (Launcher error right off the rip and the ubi stank throughout the game is vomit inducing). I'm hours in and still getting used to the combat.. the fight at the strip club was truly insufferable. I miss Stick of Truth combat. I don't enjoy the crafting system. I liked the simplicity of stick. I also don't like how there's no stats on gear..and how using an item in combat counts as a turn now, whereas in stick you can take it before you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game because of Tweek and Craig. I love their interactions together and they're playable too. Despite the Ubisoft launcher if anyone gets issues from it (I didn't really had issues with it), I recommend getting this game on sale. And if you want everything else, like the DLCs, then buy the gold edition.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of my favorite games of all time. everytime i start a playthru i bingeplay it in the span of a week. the story is so funny, and i honestly really enjoy the combat system. must-play game for any fan of south park
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I HIGHLY reccomend this game! So fun & so much to do! If you love the show you'll love this game! Tons of classic South Park comedy & lewdness, along with many surprises and content that will have you ROFL.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FBW is a very funny game that obviously makes fun of superhero movies and franchises in general. The whole synopsis is just Cartman being a greedy self-centered ahhole about this superhero thingy. All of these different plot twists, absurd humor, gameplay were pretty fun. However, I have to admit that FBW does pale in comparison to SOT. Humor has become less funny and more raunchy, which may be subjective, however, they repeated the same jokes over and over throughout the whole game and used…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great and fun game with a crappy Ubisoft launcher.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Near-perfect sequel minus all the Ubisoft live service slop on my singleplayer game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Take note that you WILL BE FORCED to make a ubisoft account and deal with all the bs that entails. Had a 10/10 time playing Stick Of Truth and bough this game on sale. 1st thing i experienced was being banned out of my account IMMEDIATELY after making it because i couldnt log in. Bought the game. Forced to make an account. Cant connect to the account and BANNED. Disapointing that this game is linked to ubisoft despite purchasing on Steam. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →South Park: The Fractured But Whole refines the RPG foundation laid by The Stick of Truth by leaning harder into combat depth, customization, and collectible systems. The grid-based battle system adds positioning, knockbacks, status effects, and team synergy, making fights more tactical and varied. Artifacts, costumes, and character builds give you real flexibility in how you play, and experimenting with different class combinations and buddies keeps combat engaging throughout the campaign.…
