Players praise the game's unique reverse platforming concept as creative and fun. [1][2][3] Many note the game is very short, often completed within an hour. [3][4][5] Some reviewers find the novelty wears off quickly and the gameplay becomes repetitive. [6][7][8]

This game was too simple and too easy. (Except for the speedrun mode and trying to get gold for that, to run through the whole thing without making a mistake is fairly unreasonable, I think.) If you are someone chasing achievements, then this is the game for you. I got all of the achievements in about 60 minutes. Then I played the whole thing again on speedrun mode. And I am just letting the game sit in idle for …

Did you ever free a princess but didn't feel a connection? And now you are stuck with her, you cant abandon her again in the tower, that would be evil. Wouldn't it be great if you can just go in reverse, unsave the princess? Unkill the guards, unclaim the loot, like you were never there? Well, this game got you covered. Spoiler Alert is a simple platformer where you start at the very end and work your way back to …

Spoiler Alert is a unique and clever proof of concept. It's essentially a runner game played backwards where you pick up or avoid coins, kill or ignore enemies, as required. The level design is pretty good and shines in spite of its simplicity. The only negative I can really think to name is the game's very short length - about 35 minutes. I think Spoiler Alert is enjoyable and maybe with more gametime, the novelty …

Easy and fun the gameplay which requires to play the game backward is pretty creative. It gets old really quick but at least this game stands out among the games with this price range because of that. it's not hard to get 100% achievement. I feel the price is just right for this game. Very satisfied.

neutral · AI labelView post →It's essentially "memorize when to press the up arrow key: the game." This game is.... awful. It's an interesting concept, playing in reverse, but due to it's "time paradox" mechanic (where if you pick up a coin that your "previous playthrough" didn't pick up, or kill an enemy that "you" didn't kill, etc.) the game loses the enjoyability of platformers and becomes essentially "memorize when to press the up arrow key: the game." When playing through a normal platformer, you can tackle the same…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It does what it says it does, but sadly not as fun as it sounded. I hoped there would be a bit more story, but it really is just a simple (and really short [under 2 hours to 100%]) platformer where you run and jump backwards. The music was pretty sweet though. The Mariachi World was the best part, the enemies looked pretty cute with the bandanas. Seeing as I didn't really have fun though I would not recommend other people use up their time for this, when there are so many better games out…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good concept : platform game, you have to play like a backward/rewind action. BUT not enough lvl (1h30 lifetime with a cofee/tea cup in the other hand) too easy i don't like graphism/animations/sprites Edit : oh i forgot steam achievments doesn't work.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very fun to complete and it's a unique and entertaining idea the developer had. The bad part in my opinion it is that the game is kinda short but at least I had fun for 1 hour.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay, the next one takes a bit more explaining to fully understand its genius, so I'm going to explain it before you listen. The story of the game centers around three gods - or rather [SPOILER ALERT] three elves who used the heart of another god to become gods.
neutral · AI labelView post →TL;DR Christopher Nolan's inspiration for Tenet. This is a fun little runner / platformer hybrid with a twist. Start at the end of the game and unplay your way through the game to the beginning. You will uncollect coins, unkill enemies and unravel a rather amusing tale of the Chili Pepper Knight. Graphics have a nice hand drawn aesthetic. Overall art style reminded me a little of The Behemoth titles (especially Alien Hominid). Incredibly quirky character design, nice level layouts and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spoiler Alert is an ideal game to sit back and relax. It's fun, casual, refreshing (with its gameplay in reverse) and extra enjoyable if you like going for achievements! It's, however, a very short game. So expect to finish within the hour.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An hour is still too much of this garbage, and I didn't even get all the cards to drop then. Spoiler Alert is an autorunner that plays in reverse, so the goal is precision platforming to hit or avoid objects to avoid "time paradox" failures. Your character runs uncontrollably, so the only input is timing jumps. The levels are mercifully short, but getting gold stars means jumping back to the menu to retry after any failure. Failures force a lengthy respawn, which prevents any key inputs and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a ridiculously fun game. It also has a surprisingly refreshing amount of depth. The main hook would have been enough, but the devs clearly have studied what makes platformers, especially Mario, compelling and strategic. They employ the same teaching strategies that Mario employs in its level design (and there is a little bit of Dark Souls in there as well) to create poignant and challenging scenarios that fit together like a puzzle. It's a short game, but what it lacks in length, it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Morlan's shorts: If you're looking for either easy achievements (less than an hour) or a quick casual fun time to get away/relax from a troubled day.. then go for it! Otherwise pass. It's not challenging, the level are too easy/uninspired, not much variety and the novelty wears off quickly. It's a silly little game to get maybe a few laughs/giggles. So my "neutral" (Wow Steam.. it's not like players have been asking for this for aeons eh..) recommendation shifts to negative. Don't waste more…

neutral · AI labelView post →Crazy that this came out in 2014. If you told me this came out during the Xbox Live Arcade indie boom almost 10 years previous I would have believed you. It’s basically just a regular platformer, but you run from right to left. There’s only an hour of gameplay total and the conceit that you’re playing a level in reverse is dropped half way through — many levels make no sense if you played them “forwards”. I honestly think there is no reason to play this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cute little game, but not without its flaws. Here's some suggestions for improvement: - The medal system doesn't really make sense. The only difference between a bronze and a gold medal is quitting the level and reentering after every failed attempt. It's an unnecessary hassle that doesn't add anything - there should be an upgrade option for the collector's edition. If I decide I wanna have it after playing the game I don't wanna have to buy the main game again - this is really not the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall, a very enjoyable take on a 2D platformer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spoiler Alert is a really nice little gem! It takes a very interesting concept and develops it well. They could have done much better with this concept, but what they did do works well, and feels fun, despite some issues with it. The biggest issue with this game is it's length. It's quite a short game, which is unfortunate, because it's very enjoyable, but there are workshop levels you can download, and you can make your own. Another issue with this game is that the jumping length can be hard…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wonderful game idea, fun to play. Some here wrote the game is too short and some wrote the game mechanic get's dull after a while. I say the game mechanic is fun for as long as the game lasts but would get dull if the game would bw longer. So a great short game for a fair price per play time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you ever wanted to play a game, as a strong, red and hot chili pepper who is a knight? If yes - then fear not and try this game! It's a nice, short and kinda different game with a interesting concept of gameplay, which means you are playing through the whole game in reverse. Only 3 chapters of the story (30 levels in one), which can be beat pretty fast, so there is an option to get more maps through workshop. As a matter of fact, I had some trouble to play in those maps, but feel free to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spoiler Alert: You don't need to reverse engineer the game to figure out the game is making money by serving you ads. All you need is proper critical thinking skills. Though it IS interesting to see just how deeply ad plays are integrated to the whole experience.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has not aged well. Jumping in quick succession feels unresponsive and several achievements refused to proc on Steam, even though ingame it said I unlocked them. It's also less than an hour long, so even the $3 price tag feels a bit steep for its length.
