What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 279 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (155,494 of 175,875 positive).
Players praise the story, combat, and Star Wars atmosphere, calling it one of the best Star Wars games. [1][2][3] Some reviewers criticize the forced EA app requirement, calling it a barrier to playing the game. [4][5][6] The map navigation and backtracking are widely seen as frustrating and poorly designed. [7][8][9]

Wanted to go back to play this. But It won't let me unless I install the EA app. If I buy something on steam, I shouldn't have to install another game platform to play it. I shouldn't have to do some work-around that disables achievements and the steam overlay just to play a game I bought on steam. Any update that stops me from playing the single-player game I already bought is cause for a refund. I'll give it a bit …

From the very first duel to the final boss, everything felt larger than life. The combat is pure brilliance — every clash of the lightsaber, every perfect parry, it all makes you feel like a true Jedi. And when that iconic Star Wars music kicks in... you can’t help but get chills. At first, I was lost. The world felt confusing, the paths winding — it’s a 3D Metroidvania after all, full of backtracking and hidden …

After 100 Percenting the game, i can thoroughly say this is THE best star wars game i have ever played. Story is amazing and still sticks with me, combat is super fun and never gets old. i would recommend this game to ANYONE even in 2026

As someone who has never seen any Star Wars, I actually really enjoyed the story. The combat was enjoyable and has a lot of potential, though it can be a bit jank at times. The level design is absolutely horrible, especially when you're trying to backtrack for collectibles. Not being able to fast travel between meditation points is miserable.

Such an incredibly fun game with an amazing story. I cannot recommend this game enough to anybody that likes Star Wars.

77% of the 279 Steam reviewers we collected recommend STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order™. The complaint that keeps coming up: forced EA app requirement is a major annoyance for many players. Deal-breaker or nitpick?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order received "generally favorable" reviews from critics, according to review aggregator website Metacritic. Critics liked the game for being a self-contained Star Wars single-player title, and felt that Fallen Order had successfully combined distinct systems from multiple game genres together. Many reviewers noted the game's subpar technical performance. The success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, alongside Marvel's Spider-Man, prompted Disney to encourage game developers to make more original games based on its properties. The exploration aspect of the game was widely praised. Andrew Reiner from Game Informer described it as the game's "most dynamic and…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its incredibly pathetic that EA tries to force you to install their app to play this game. I would not have bought this game if I had known this the case. However if you have already paid for it you can get around that by navigating to the game folder/swgame/binaries/win64 and launching swgamewin64shipping.exe in there. Pin it to your desktop, and go to hell Electronic Arts.

neutral · AI labelView post →The game itself is fun, but you need the EA app for a seemingly compatibility purpose. The app still does not regognize the game and half the time requires you to relog into your origin account. Its a pathetic system. Having to either restart or log in 50% of the time is awful. As I'm typing this, the EA app crashed 4 times on its own. Great SW content, but poor struture around the game's logistics.

positive · AI labelView post →Fallen Order feels like a game designed by people who spent years studying how to balance combat systems and almost no time asking whether any of it was actually fun. Every design choice seems engineered to prevent the player from experiencing the fantasy the game is selling. You're a Jedi, armed with one of the most iconic weapons in fiction, yet every encounter is painstakingly tuned so that livestock, vermin, and entry-level Imperial personnel can waste your time. The lightsaber has all…

A solid pick for a star wars fan. a possible skip for non-fans. its an early uncharted game with ds2 boss design, bloodborne's XP retrieval system and a really nice story albeit short. Pros: * the story is quite rich and well told. * Graphics are stunning * the combat system has quite a bit of variety in it * Cosmetics are pretty neat * good variation of enemies Cons: * very short game if you take away all the useless trekking back to the ship and the annoying…

positive · AI labelView post →We started playing Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on the stream this week, and when folks started pointing out it was Star Wars Dark Souls it occurred to me: Has there ever been a Star Wars game that wasn't just a retread of another popular game? Because I can't think of one.
neutral · AI labelView post →I really want to like this game but it has so many issues it just makes the game too frustrating to enjoy. I wanted to know more about the story and characters but the problems this game has outweigh the positives. The main issue with the game is the awful shader compilation stutter which is one of the worst cases I've seen in a game. This can be mitigated by using DXVK but it never goes away completely. Another is the god awful checkpoint system. Sometimes it will be quite forgiving, other…

neutral · AI labelView post →EN : Star Wars is a saga that I’ve often enjoyed for its games and its expanded universe, but that never stops disappointing me with its movies. And so, this Fallen Order confirms it for me. So, what about this game? The game starts with a good bit of staging during the tutorial. Then, as early as the 1st planet, you find yourself fairly frustrated, mainly because the game wants to be a metroidvania action-adventure (no, it’s not a souls-like, even though it borrows a few ideas). And so,…

The story is fantastic, making you really invested in Cal Kestis’s journey. The game combines Uncharted's exploration and platforming with the challenging combat typical of souls-like games. You’ll start out weak and most likely die repeatedly until you gain more experience (literally and figuratively speaking), as the protagonist gets more skills you can drastically reduce the number of times you die. Jedi Fallen Order was developed by Respawn Entertainment and released in 2019. Something to keep in mind when I review a Star Wars game:…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At the present time, I would argue the Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor are the best Star Wars games available. Fallen Order is really good after those somewhat tedious first few hours. In addition - and that is a big plus for me as an adult with a day job; it hit the sweet spot in length, variety and content. The story is really great, unlike other new star wars content (looking at you book of boba fett) it brings if not likeable then at least memorable characters, the adventure is fine, the…
