I'm glad they killed Scorch in Bad Batch, because his AI in the final level made me want to kill him myself. This game came out in 2005 and it SHOWS. The AI is bad, the difficulty fluctuated wildly, and the game was buggy as hell. I know this is considered a classic, but I can't imagine wanting to play this in 2026 if you don't have nostalgia for it. It was a slog to get through. Multiple crashes, buggy mechanics, …

This game is a masterpiece, especially for its time. The gameplay is very dynamic and very fun. The ost is insanely good. The story is charged with emotion while not overexplaining itself, and let you experience it through the gameplay. It also shows a dark and very mature side of the Clone Wars. Here, you are not the main character, a powerful Jedi, or an important clone commander. You are the elite, yes, but …

After 584 hours, Republic Commando still has me in its sights This game is old, yes. The graphics show their age, the controls can feel stiff, and some parts are clearly from another era of shooters. But somehow, that is also part of its charm. Republic Commando still delivers something many modern Star Wars games do not: atmosphere, squad identity, and the feeling that clone troopers are more than background …

In my opinion, the best Star Wars game ever made. Played it a lot as a kid and to this day as an adult for nostalgia purposes. I still enjoy the game's story, soundtrack, and characters. 11/10 has a special place in my heart, thanks dad for showing me this game.

The best single player Star Wars game and there’s actually 0 debate. It’s literally Halo Reach clone trooper edition

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man, this game aged like fine wine. Amazing OST. I think this is the the few media that really show how tough droids can be, especially the Super Battle Droids. We have this game to thank for the term "Clanker." And overall a well crafted experience. They really dont make games like this anymore.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My only criticism is that I wanted more, like getting a bit more closure on the abrupt ending. Or just a chance to blow up even more droids. Mechanically solid if a bit dated, and a cool part of the Star Wars universe. It amazes me to have AI squadmates, dreamed up and programmed in the early 2000s, that feel more useful and well-written than the ones in most AAA games of the last decade.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not only a perfectly preserved time capsule that lets you peek into the world of early 2000s star wars games and media in general but it also delivers a truly good gaming experience. The music is memorable and epic as is the scale of the story and the mechanics and gunplay hold up well even today. For fans of the franchise and the prequels/ clone wars in particular this is a must play by all metrics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great bit of 2005 gaming nostalgia. Holds up very well, but you'll need some slight modification for 1920x1080 and to remove the messed up texture issues with the engine that adds a screwed-up shine to the models if not patched. (I forget if it's bump-mapping or some other visual effect that breaks it on modern hardware). Oh, and to fix the mouse speed bug tied to I think refresh rate. Thankfully, a simple patch fixes all of that. I recommend SWRCFix2.13 It's a simple copy-paste operation,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We need a remaster of this awesome work. That or at the least implement native controller support for PC. It should NOT be allowed to fade into oblivion for the sake of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RAT and his cronies.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played STAR WARS: Republic Commando for the first time a few days ago. there are no words for the sheer DELIGHT that overcame me when I realised the game's primary gameplay mechanic is a tactical squad mechanics direction POV shooter. and it's STAR WARS. MY NICHE! MY NICHE!!!!!!! There was not a single moment that I wasn't genuinely grinning ear to ear while playing this thing, and the 2000s style 'making of' videos in the extra content after I finished the game sent me back to my…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best Star wars game of all time. Possibly the best game of all time. I used to beg it got a sequel. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DISNEY PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THIS
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Genuinely one of the best first person shooters i have ever played. the ending left me with my jaw dropped when i was ten. and to this day, i still find myself coming back to it simply to shoot some clankers with the squad
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played through with a Steam Deck. It needed some sensitivity tinkering, but other than that and learning where all the buttons are, this was an amazing experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Possibly the greatest single player Star Wars game ever made. The storytelling and characters are amazing, and the squad command mechanics are genius. I love this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Every time I look back at older Star Wars games, I realize how few of them actually tell stories about the Clone Wars. You can count such games on one hand, yet somehow many of them still hold strong positions in rankings. This game is one of them. I cannot say that it stands out because of its visual design, it was always quite specific. But people did not fall in love with this game because of how it looks. Star Wars: Republic Commando delivers a well directed story about elite clone…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the if not THE best Star Wars FPS's, but in order to get it to run properly in updated resolution you need to download the SWRC fix and copy the files into your Gamedata folder.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →9/10 There is fan remaster mod for this game that updates the graphics and fixes an issue I was having with the mouse cursor being a little laggy, which would interfere with my aiming. Republic Commando is something truly special. Intense, gritty, and downright amazing. I'm not a fan of FPS games. This is only one that lives in my collection. The tone here is more serious than most Star Wars media; you are just a clone, and there are no Jedi coming to save you. Your squad, your brothers, are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't made a lot of game reviews, so this might be amateur, if that makes sense, but I'm really trying to convey how awesome this was. What I Think This game was honestly incredibly fun and is one of the best Star Wars video games ever. The graphics and animations are beautiful, and Delta Squad feels so alive with their unique dialogue and body language. The game is pretty short (ironic, having 12 hours on record) with three main "levels": Geonosis, the lost Prosecutor ship, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game rules. It's core gameplay is practically a Bungie Halo game (60-round AR, different grenade types, energy shields, medpacks and all) with a Star Wars and squad tactics twist on the formula. You have essentially two constant weapons, but if you think about it, the DC-17M counts as a three-in-one in all its modular glory. There's not a moment you're left without it, adding to the immersive feeling of a special-ops trooper who is *already* carrying the best equipment possible. Of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really love this game. It feels like a missing piece from the Clone Wars animated show. The gameplay is a bit dated but still really fun. I love how tense this game gets. If you like the clone wars era of star wars and don't mind old shooters then I highly recommend this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of the best viddeo games of all time. it criminal that we dont have a sequel or ssomething that contiinues delta squads story
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good God, i cant explain how much i love this game, the story of this game is pure cinema, and honestly this is the kind of star wars ive been missing in my life as of lately we need more games like this, this game makes you feel so badass leading your squad of elite commandos, The mission on the abandonded ship will forever haunt my dreams
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good old fps game. One of the most unique Star Wars fps game. I think there should be a remaster or remake version for this game in near future.. One last thing is Super Battle Droid is scary.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My General Opinion About A Blast From My Past Well where do I start specifically? The concept of the game is simply one of the best ones for a star wars game in a similar vain to the battlefront games except more focused on a specialized squad of clone warriors. The story and it's gameplay hold up amazing well over the years since 2005 and it plays exactly as I remember it all those years ago. The gameplay is reminiscent of arena shooters from the early 2000's and it shows with how most…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting tactical shooter! There are no jedi to play as in Star Wars Republic Commando, but specialised clone forces, sort of British SAS of the Galactic Republic. The campaign is exciting; is both more serious than usual but with some well timed comedy, derived from the four main characters. When played in cooperative, each player controls a clone, while in singleplayer, ordering and organising the crew becomes part of the game. The three chapters have a solid level design and the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →*I RECOMMEND THIS GAME BUT PLEASE READ WARNING* Near mandatory that you download a mod to adjust the screen shake, its very easy to do and not a big deal but that should be known before buying and shouldn't be a reason you don't buy this game. Frankly this game is fantastic and its genuinely shocking few newer team/squad shooters don't even get close to a game this old. Yes, I have nostalgia for this game but I can easily recognize this games flaws. Game runs great, no crashes (just to get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got bent over by a super battle droid and it droided all over my health bar until it was empty 10/10 would recommend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you like clone commandos? Did you enjoy the clone wars show? More importantly: do you think Vode An is an absolute banger and listening to it makes you wanna go on the battlefield and mow down a bunch of separatist clankers? If you said yes, yes, and HELL YES to the three questions above, you NEED to play this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The tragedy of "no controller support" the wise For a game released on Xbox ♥♥♥♥ these old ports
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shot thousands of droids, got shot even more. Also Scorch makes it a 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Long time ago, while chatting with a friend, he asked if I've ever played this game called "Star Wars Empire at War", when I answered that I did not, he recommended that I bought it with the Star Wars collection so that we could play it online, and with this collection I've found this gem. I remember that while playing for the first time Republic Command, I was very confused since I've never saw this type of clones on anything main Star Wars related, and loved every single time playing this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An absolute gem in gameplay. To date still one of the best squad-based shooters. One of the oldest gaming mysteries: Nobody understands why this never got a sequel or even just the gameplay been copied.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Remember playing this on my brother's Window's XP pc back in early 00s. Wild stuff indeed. Cool game, but a bit short.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best games of the generation by far. Incredible in both story and gameplay. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like playing a singleplayer co-op shooter (and I love co-op shooters). A surprising amount of depth to both the FPS and strategy gameplay. I played in hard mode and I died plenty, but often the answer to beating a section I was stuck on was a change in squad tactics rather than simply improving my shooting on the next try. Alongside fantastic art, music, characters and atmosphere, this makes for one of the best singleplayer campaigns I have ever had the pleasure of playing through. Delta…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Iconic is an understatement for this one. The cultural impact is still being felt to this day
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is an outright gem, imo. Don't believe what Steam says about the hours I've put into it. I've spent way too many hours replaying levels on multiple difficulties and know a few areas a little too well to get quite the same kick out of it that I once did. It's very good if you're into tactical FPS, with some issues occasionally making appearances. Well worth a run-through if you've got an itchy trigger finger. It nicely fits within the series and establishes itself in the pre-Disney era…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are people in the review section gooning to this game, saying its the best game of all time. I understand why they say that, because this game was a big part of my childhood along with others like Battlefront 2 and Jedi Academy. It's a great game and ahead of its time, but I won't say that it doesn't have its flaws or that it doesn't show its age. The combat is repetitive and the damage that enemies can do to the player swings wildly back and forth. The story is somewhat lackluster and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not only is this one of the best Star Wars video games ever made. It's one of the best video games ever made. The vibe is unmatched. Played this as a kid. Replaying it now reafirms my belief that video games truly used to be able to be considered art. Sadly those days are gone and we will probably never have something like this ever again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →absolutely fire. worth 20, priced at 10, sales st 2.50. masterpiece
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed how hard this game was and I hope that they remaster this game so the graphics would be better. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Greatest star wars story ever told super fun on consoles this pc version is definitely lacking Positive review because good game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's great but every time I play I get hit with flashbacks to playing this game in my friends computer room as a child.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very fun game, as long as you have a mouse with extra buttons for the commands you give your squad. i felt the ending was a bit rushed.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Downloaded the remaster mod and really liking the game. Yes graphics are dated, but its fun for the price! Never played this back in the day, but better late than never.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's jank, it's an old game, but from characters to shooting, it's pretty good. It very much scratches a star wars itch, and this game actually gave me a lot more respect for super battle droids. Those chunky clankers are a pain
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can run on integrated graphics, good game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Star Wars: Republic Commando has a great soundtrack along with an amazing story reminiscent of a Clone Wars arc, if your a Star Wars fan and haven't played it yet I cannot recommend it enough!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A still fun and enjoyable classic fps with optional co-op.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the BEST Star Wars games I've played. It's S tier right up there with Battlefront 2 2005. You can feel all the love and care they put in this game, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I'm impressed. This game feels like star wars clone wars and ps2 SWAT had a child, seeing my squad members lining up on those doors and using real breaching tactics felt so good. (They called a veteran with 30 years of experience to help them make the game, real world tactics.) Talking about squad members, I've…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another nostalgic star wars game from the early 2000's.. although the visuals look dated, it adds to the overall vibe of the game. Republic Commandos has plenty atmosphere, grit, and examples of how the clones are more than just soldiers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel like they tried to make Halo: clone wars, because only the music, arenas and designs are good The enemies can be literally walking sponges or glass, they can take a ton of ammo in their weak spot or die in a couple of seconds without any effort. The 4 characters are really forgetable with only a few cool voice lines. 3 of them, the npcs, feel like rookies instead of commandos, because you gotta tell them what to do at any moment or they will let you die or get killed by a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game a long time ago and couldn't get it to work in windows 7 or windows 10. For some reason I tried it on windows 11 and it worked fine with no mods or anything, I just installed it and it worked. I used the console by pressing ~ to change the resolution once I was actually in a mission, "setres 1920x1080" . I also tried to recreate the problem where the game crashes after the menu when you start a level or try to change graphics options. Turning bump mapping quality to 0 in the…
