Giving this game a proper review this time because I feel like the game deserves it. Yes, like other reviews have said, this game is very unbalanced. Some bullets (cards are called bullets in this game) are too useless they are an instant throw-into-the-bin, while some are way too overpowered the moment you get them, you'll instantly win. Battles can also be unfair too; 1* battles could end up causing you to lose half of your HP if you're still using your starting deck. It's as if the…

I've put a dozen hours into this game, and in the process I've changed my mind several times about whether or not I can recommend it. In the end, I'm going with "no", but let me start with the good parts. This is a deckbuilding roguelike game with turn-based combat and heavy reliance on random drops of items and "bullets" (the entities that constitute your deck, each one being a cute girl). In fact, it's advertised as one of the game's selling points: "gacha without microtransactions". For a…

Quick video impressions: https://youtu.be/5WkS8ceUR9I Written version below! I like deckbuilding card battlers and I play a lot of weeb garbage - so this seemed right up my alley, but I can’t say it’s really done anything to impress me thus far. Note: Trimmed review to fit character limit, check video for full version! Gameplay Super Bullet Break is basically what would happen if you took something like Slay the Spire and slapped some anime girls onto it. You get these maps to explore full…

Super Bullet Break is both cute and brutal. You'll find yourself having to restart runs over and over if you don't get the right bullets for your deck but you'll want to keep coming back thanks to the fast paced. simple yet satisfying battle system. Being able to combo your attacks together and delay your enemies turns at the same time gives you a massive smile on your face as you assert your dominance. However, some of the time you won't have the bullets available to be able to do that as the…

A deckbuilder with a terrible UI and mediocre balancing, that makes up for it with a lot of original ideas. I can't agree with people saying the game's too hard, or you need to get specific stuff for winning. I lost only a couple runs going through all stages of the game, and that was before I actually understood how it works. It seems a lot of people just tried to play SBB fishing for overpowered synergies and removing cards every chance they got, which I can confidently say is the opposite…

This game was aggressively marketed as a mobile game with all the fun and none of the microtransactions. Admittedly, that interested me, as I've seen several otherwise good games that were held back by being mobile games riddled with transactions that flourished when they removed this monetization system, tweaked the gameplay, and just charged a flat rate for the game. Regrettably, Super Bullet Break is not an example of this. Not only is the game very unbalanced, but you always start with the…

Enjoyment: 4/10 Far too RNG-heavy, far too little control of your own deck. Enemies hit too hard, shields are too weak. Buffs/Debuffs are too weak/borderline useless. The way to win is to fight as little as possible and evade stronger enemies. Bad game design! This is supposed to be a card battler, but the game punishes you for trying to battle with cards. This is supposed to be a deck builder, but the game doesn't let you build a proper deck, it's mostly RNG which cards you end up with.

I thought I leave a review on the game since I played it for a bit, but can't even complete the 4th stage at this point in time. The main summary of Super Bullet Break is that games in the world are taken over by buggy AI ladies, and you have to help 3 friends get into the game to stop them. They supposed are help by another girl whose suppose to be good at this games and her sidekick Blackcat, I think. Anyway, even though this game is supposed to be a deckbuilding game, it doesn't do a good…

Your game apps covering many different genres such as action, dating sims, and even dungeon crawlers have been infected and it's up to you to kick out all the Singulaladies and bring order back to your games. It's VERY simulator to games like Slay the Spire. The overall gameloop goes like this: you enter a various worlds with a set deck archetypse, you battle via a semi deck building/JRPG system and defeat enemies, you…

(+) It has lighthearted tone. Its art & music are OK and complements this lighthearted feeling well. (+) The deck building roguelike gameplay is fun and challenging. It's enjoyable for the first hours. (-) The story presentation is almost non existent. It is gameplay focused but the gameplay is unbalanced. It relies on randomness and it is too much time consuming for the progress you made. (-) The game progress is lost after you've defeated, you have to start from the very beginning and you…

Just completed all missions. I like the variety of anime titties. As a deck-building game fundamentally, there should be enough fun and challenge on the way to completing the deck, then it should feel rewarding when you have a zinger. That's pretty much what you will get out of Super Bullet Break. Difficulty seems just right for an average gamer. Since there is no difficulty setting, this game will feel rough for nubsies and somewhat easy for tryhards. As a hard-knock, certified tryhard…

game system and mechanic is quite interesting but gameplay and balance make it boring more as deckbuilding game it is normal that we will have to start over again and again but it's quite boring if nearly half of cards we could use in each run are starter cards which put in just small keyword for each type of mechanic (we start with 1x starter cards and over a run, we'll get about 10-20 cards at most) and starter cards are bad enough to make you struggle with weakest mobs if not carefully…

Super Bullet Break is a lot of fun Gameplay - 10/10 - It's a neat deck-builder/rogue-like game that has you crawling through a set of maps to challenge a series of increasingly difficult bosses at the end of each stage. The game isn't impossibly hard, but there might be moments when a run feels hopeless due to bad RNG. I personally don't mind a healthy dose of RNG, but I can see it throwing a lot of people off. Story - 0/10 - Can hardly call it a story. I recommend skipping it entirely…

I honestly like the game. I cannot recommend this to others though. The biggest appeal is probably the art and voices of the bullets/characters. The lore is pretty much non-existent. You are just told who is who and what is what. There are practically no hidden easter eggs or substories of the such and the only way to advance and learn more is by winning the games. Speaking of game, this is probably one of the worse deckbuilding system I have ever seen! Part of the charm of deckbuilding is…

This game is a prime example of throwing the concept of "difficulty balance" off a cliff. It feels like they threw darts for the numbers on the cards/bullets and went "Yup! Perfect!" since anything you get mid-game does next to no damage while the enemies remove your armor then do half your health in damage. Not to mention that, as I'm writing this review, a couple of seeming useful attack effects and cartridge passives, such as removing enemy buffs or decreasing specific-typed bullet costs,…

Returning from hiatus, it's Super Bullet Break! I'm back with a vengeance for the post-game extra dungeons, reminding me just how much fun this anime spin on Slay the Spire is. I really like this "card" game! I agree with other users that at the very beginning, the game is super RNG heavy. That's kinda like any other rogue-like deck-builder, though. Once you unlock a ton of the "bullets" (girls) and cartridge (which are basically like relics attached to your bullets/girls), the game will get super easy. I win 9 out of 10 games now, and I'm still working on unlocking cartridges. Even with decks that seem chaotic and random and I wanted to give up at times, I…

Please don't let mind the reviews saying the game is unbalanced/too hard/too rng to win. I don't know what they're doing. I failed my first run, then won 3 in a row afterwards without reading guides or whatever. This game is fun and honestly not that hard if you're familiar with the genre. Seems like the best way to play this game is not to do fights. Enemies hit to hard, and there's only so much you can block. Maybe you can come up with some great strategies later, but this wasn't enjoyable to play, so I guess I'll never see.

This is what I think would be defined as my "guilty pleasure", if my playtime is to be trusted. I love this game, but it's not a good game. The balancing is terrible, which becomes glaringly apparent in the third world's second boss fight, but you can see it much earlier. The story is the most cookie-cutter hero's journey I've read in a while, and really didn't inspire me to keep playing, because the ending can be seen from a mile away. Super fun, super cute, and sometimes super hard! Although it does take some getting used to, you can make some of the worst pulls work for you, so the element of skill is there. The on-boarding is rough though, and some level of consistency for decks you could perhaps bring in yourself (like loadouts of 5 cards or so) would honestly do this game wonders. Otherwise it's fun and challenging for some quick gameplay, and works great on the Steam Deck!

This game is cute and mostly fun. It's a deck building waifu collector, which checks a lot of boxes for a lot of gamers. That said, you have almost no control over what cards you can add to your deck. This creates an experience where there's not a lot of skill involved- you don't win a run because you pick the right cards and reject the wrong cards, you win a run because you were SHOWN the right cards. The game is pretty new and there's a lot of ways they could fix it, so I'm leaving this…

Very random, you don't have a lot of options for building your deck, and you'll never be able to clean out your starting cards which are all strongly focused on one gimmick. You have to lean into that gimmick and just hope the game offers you good cards for it, because if it gives you an awesome card for a different set, there's a strong chance it'll be completely worthless to you. You get card drafts after battles, but the options you get are so scattered, it's frequently better to just…

I have never felt that my decisions meaningfully impacted my chances of victory in this game - unlike a lot of deckbuilding roguelites, where you can shape the path your deck takes to a degree and aim for a specific strategy, this game has so many different competing strategies in every single run that it's functionally impossible to attempt to build a synergy outside of raw chance. Furthermore, the battles are so punishing and the rewards for victory are so limited that in my experience the…

It is definitely not beginner-friendly. It has some cool concepts but it's just balls-hard right out of the gate and throws too much stuff at you. The animations and style of the game are great and the story is fun. However, the balance of battles feels off and the current rewards system encourages the player to skip as many battles as possible which feels wrong for a deck-building game. Basic enemies do almost as much damage as bosses and with how the timing system works fighting more than one enemy makes battles exponentially harder. The only consistently successful strategy I've found so far is to avoid all battles except boss battles…

Super Bullet Break is a solo roguelite deckbuilder with a bright anime look and a premise that feels like a love letter to gacha games—minus the real-money pulling. You hop into short, repeatable runs, gradually assembling a team-like deck and trying to push farther each time as the game remixes enemies, rewards, and upgrades. The hook is that your “cards” are actually characters called Bullets. Each one has its own gimmick—some hit hard, some build shields, some set up status effects, and…

While the first few hours are difficult, imo it's one of the best single player card games in the recent years. It's a roguelite about building a deck with what you've been given, and lots or tactics rely of you making do with it. What I really like is that the game is always fair, your starting deck never gets better. But eventually your own knowledge of the game will allow you to build better and better decks. Your starter cards are ass, and enemies already damage you quite easily, for bosses you never get the shield high enough to avoid damage, even with debuffs. Very cute. Love the premise and character designs. Kind of brutal out the gate though. Outside of unlocking new cards (which you can't start with), you're out the gate deck... sucks. Even a one star fight at the start of the game can completely knock you out depending on encounter. Healing is done by drops of 1 or 2 HP per use making it almost useless. Fine for what it is, UI and translation are a bit clunkier than it should be but if you want to play a somewhat typical turn based roguelike game then this is worth playing at a heavily discounted price (i think i bought this at $3-4 AUD). There is anime fanservice in this but it's pretty much limited to the designs of characters more than anything, it's a mostly wholesome game outside of that.

And with that, we clinch the last postgame dungeon clear, and a complete set of clears for all of Super Bullet Break! This took just shy of 17 hours, although we've not quite gotten 100% until the in-game compendium is filled! This was an incredibly fun, entertainingly broken deckbuilder. Neat/10.

Perfect opportunity for the curious: Super Bullet Break is on deep sale on Steam for Tokyo Game Show 2025. I personally really like this game, and can recommend it if(!) you don't mind some rough edges and imbalance that come with this fascinating, earnest take on the Slay the Spire-like formula.

Bit of a love hate relationship with this game. It has pretty decent story, the card arts are nice and cute, some synergies are really fun to play with. But it's heavily reliant on RNG. Most time, you will get RNG so bad that the best option is to alt f4 immediately. Other time, you get really good card synergies & good combos then the whole game is a cakewalk. Enemies are outrageously strong, even trash mob on the map. Meanwhile, your starting deck is really bad, you actively want to get…

Super Bullet Break is up there as a top contender for "game with the most wild-ass status effect names"

🎮📝I think I've found an excuse to write analytically about Slay the Spire while being (only?) 25 hours in and that excuse comes in the form of an anime roguelike deckbuilder StS clone that recycles assets from a now-defunct Japanese-language-only Arkanoid-esque gacha game Super Bullet Break, soon*

Some of the bosses are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (looking at you, Aquarhythm stage 2 boss), 1 star fights hit harder than the previous stage boss at times and you can get screwed over by RNG, but I think there's still a compelling aspect to this game. The feeling of triumphing over unfair odds is the main reason that keeps me playing at least. Buy during a sale if you like looking at cute anime + a slightly unusual card game with unique-ish mechanics. Some tips I read and applied: Whenever you play a bullet,…

It's normally not the type of game genre i touch, but the illustrations were so pretty i wanted to see more of them. From 1 Artist to Another, great composition, body posing and colors. Those stand out to me~ The game itself is fun too. Has you min maxing trynna make the best of what you got. Kind of can luck out with some decisions taken in it. Typical RNG? Other times things are just doomed, that's okay tho, you win some you lose some hehe. This is from playing 5 hours, steam says 3 on…
