Taxi
Developer Excalibur
Run your own taxi cab company by hiring drivers, upgrading vehicles and getting behind the wheel to complete fares. Some passengers will even encourage you to break traffic laws to get to their destination quickly, but try to avoid the watchful eye of the police. From the Steam store page

What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 149 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mixed (184 of 378 positive).
Some players find the game enjoyable for its price and concept, despite its flaws. [1][2][3] Many reviewers report game-breaking bugs, including issues with AI, saving, and missions. [4][5][6] Several players criticize the repetitive gameplay, poor controls, and lack of features. [7][8][9]

I've given this game some fair play time and I personally don't see what the big deal is with the negative reviews. If you're someone that grew up to this sort of graphics and actually play the game properly, whilst tolerating it for what it actually is, it's not half as bad as most of the reviews make it out to be. Whilst it's a very basic and feature-lacking game, it has a nice AI where passengers are placed …

Not a bad game at all, feels very much like a bargain bin game from the early 2000s and definitely not a Unity asset flip. You have three maps, various cabs to buy and upgrade, people to hire as your cabbies, fares who want different things from you like showing them various landmarks, stepping on the gas and reaching the goal as quickly as possible and regular trips that simply want to go from point A to B. This is …

Some really severe problems with this game with lots of bugs. Others have already pointed this out in detail. Worst of all if you start to build up your taxi company and need to to go for a break, THE GAME WILL NOT EVEN ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SAVE!!!!!! What sort of stupid ♥♥♥♥ is that and WTF are Steam doing selling this game in this condition? Potentially a good game, but obviously the developer could not be arsed to finish …

I was actually having lots of fun with this until the game started bugging out. There would be cars just frozen and not move even though it was a green light, which was annoying if you had a vip timed mission. I came across a bug that prevented me from continuing, I would pick up a person and their location doesn't lead anywhere, i drove around the whole city trying to find where they wanted to go, but no luck, so I …

Terrible controls, Only have 1 view, and the gameplay is too repetitive.

neutral · AI labelView post →I will not play Crazy Taxi. I'm not going to say I'll never play a game with AI in it because I think I'm going to need to to do this job. I'm sorry.
negative · AI labelView post →Sega is flopping around desperately trying to spin their use of GenAI and seemingly changing their story for damage control. Don't let them off the hook. You don't need a new Crazy Taxi game that badly.
negative · AI labelView post →don’t forget that Taxi game uses genAI no matter how excited Max is about it
neutral · AI labelView post →Bro I just saw a 19 year old on twitter get a $10k run in Crazy Taxi 3, they weren't even alive when that game came out. The idea that a new Crazy Taxi game made authentically would just be this impenetrable brick wall to new players is such a frustrating stance to take.
positive · AI labelView post →I just wanna make it clear here, I'm not just shitting on the game because it uses AI and I'm morally against it, I still regularly play Crazy Taxi and know how it's supposed to look, and this game looks like complete shit. Every part of it is wrong. bsky.app/profile/john...

neutral · AI labelView post →Very buggy. 1 view. Poor controls. Very repetitive. Not a very good tycoon or simulation game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you were looking forward to the game Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest, I’ve got some bad news for you. Similarly to Crazy Taxi: World Tour, AI was used as a reference for creating the in-game assets.

positive · AI labelView post →reminder this was allegedly service game versions of -several- IPs, including Crazy Taxi and JSR, which would have had guns and been fortnite.
neutral · AI labelView post →Old art from a game that will never happen. Mammoth Taxi.
neutral · AI labelView post →Crazy Taxi is a maximalist game. You drive a giant American muscle car or luxury sedan painted to look like a taxi, the HUD is exploding out the screen at you, the money ticker looks like a slot machine, the drivers are all alt, punk rock, bikers, the dregs of society, the music is loud and angry.

neutral · AI labelView post →It would be neat/insane if the new Crazy Taxi brought in all the drivers from that incremental game they did for phones awhile back.
positive · AI labelView post →Crazy Taxi players: If you are a chronic player of the first game/classic map, this article is a very good read. It breaks down why passenger destinations change, how they change, and ways to “crack the code.” birthbydrip.neocities.org/articles/cra...
neutral · AI labelView post →Yeah that's the way someone who should be writing an article about this game should start it. Surely this person will give me the truest evaluation of the game with accurate assessment for what Crazy Taxi is and was.
negative · AI labelView post →If only there was some way to make a Crazy Taxi game without AI. If only Sega had some way of doing that. 🫠
negative · AI labelView post →I was....so excited to finally get a Crazy Taxi game after decades of waiting......fuck it. Fuck my life!
negative · AI labelView post →I honestly can't recommend it, not for the price it's asking. The options menu only addresses audio volumes and quality, with no way to adjust keybinds and other important details you'd expect from a driving "sim"...I use that term very loosely as there isn't even turn signals (none that I've found anyway). This feels more like an arcade game without the bells and whistles. You can drive through people (you ghost through them) and red lights without penalty, assuming there's no one in the…

neutral · AI labelView post →So from a big fan of the original arcade game here's my non-AI issues with Crazy Taxi: World Tour from looking at previews: - Taxi looks weightless, barely moves an inch on impact - Gear shifting looks either nerfed or completely useless, you stop almost immediately. Defeats the entire point (1/?)
negative · AI labelView post →Typical indie game, this time it's about driving the taxi. - game is a bit bugged, but nothing that can kill the mood. Be careful with hired drivers though, they have a tendency of being dumb when you spectate them - only one view, but camera is doing an okay job to show you the road. Traffic lights are shown not only as usual, but as lines on the road too, which is helpful. Speed limit is shown all the time, it's 30 or 40, depends on the street - no Steam Achievements, no trading cards. Yes,…

negative · AI labelView post →Ever thought of owning your own Taxi business? Do you like games that are all about patience and following the rules? Then Taxi still isn't for you. If you can get around the game's lackluster driving, the big issue here are the game breaking glitches. The driving controls are easy, up to drive forward, down to come to a stop and go backward. Left and right to turn. While the controls are easy, its just a little dull having to follow the rules. The camera is automatic and as you drive faster…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WARNING DO NOT PURCHASE THE GAME IS BUGGED AS HELL when you hire drivers while you drive they dont earn the gps does not always work if you hav a driver out do not go to map game freeze if one of your drivers totals a car while you are driving you get sent straight to garage though your car keeps going and once again game freeze this game is a good concept but is grossly badly executed dont waste your money
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is what they've been saying since being grilled about it originally, and even if that's the case it's still bullshit. It's fucking Crazy Taxi, you have the original game to copy and the concept of fucking Crazy Taxi. Gen AI in any capacity is unacceptable. And the game sucks anyways.

neutral · AI labelView post →Still trying to push the multiplayer for this game is embarrassing. No one gives a fuck about multiplayer in Crazy Taxi, that's not why anyone plays this series. It's just another thing to add on to the pile of all the ways this game hates being a Crazy Taxi game. Maybe the planning was AI too.
negative · AI labelView post →New Crazy Taxi game looks like they dropped the taxi into modern day, which is insane to say because the series already takes place in modern day as is
