Do not buy yet if you are going to play multiplayer!!!!! Almost everything in multiplayer is a bugged out mess! Constantly get bugs where I can't target/activate my spells/abilities in combat, desync in combat or when exploring the maps. The game is great and has so much potential but had to stop playing it out of frustration. Will change my recommendation to yes once the multiplayer bugs are resolved.

It's a good game to play after work in the evening. There is no grind or quest management. Resources like health and skill usages will replenish after each encounter. Terrinoth®: Heroes of Descent is a pretty enjoyable game with likeable characters, each with unique skills and spells. It has cool tactical mechanics, a decent story and an interesting exploration mode similar to those in Shadowgunners and Mutant Year Zero. Everything is fine until you reach Act 2, at which point the game takes a turn for the worse. It feels like the game is constantly throwing logs under your feet by respawning armies of enemies behind your back without warning or any…

Solid potential, but the game doesnt work well, multiplayer is very buggy, players losing connection and then even after restarting the game people cant rejoin. Also as they move around its buggy and they get stuck, bugs when they have their turn stopping them from ending. Things like that. Needs work. Will edit my review once the works been done to make a stable product worthy of coming out of development.

First time review. First I would like to say the only reason there are allot of people giving it a negative review right now is the multiplayer. The solo campaign is awesome. If you like BG3 or Wrath of the Righteous, you are going to really like this game. The characters are very enjoyable, and the game play is very well done. You start off the game with a handful of characters and get a new one at the beginning of each chapter except for the last one. Each one is very unique and plays…

Artefacts Studio delivers attractive fantasy environments, detailed character models, and readable battlefield layouts. The presentation focuses on clarity during combat, ensuring that tactical information remains easy to process even in larger encounters. Terrinoth: Heroes of Descent is an enjoyable and approachable tactical RPG that should appeal to fans of games like Gloomhaven, Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, and cooperative dungeon crawlers. Aside form bad optimisation, i've encountered one of the worst bugs or one of the worst "design" choices ever. I've tried to delete a save and the game, deleted my ENTIRE GAMEPLAY and all the saves, without asking am i really want to delete my whole damn playthrough, just all gone. I have no other words, it is the dumbest, most absurd problem, i've ever encountered in a videogame.

Good foundations, but I can't recommend it as-is. We ran our first playthrough on Nightmare for the challenge, and it showed how unbalanced the game is. Maybe 2-3 tense fights in the whole game, everything else a stomp, until an end-game boss that's just unfun and poorly tuned (with a bonus-damage gimmick that makes zero sense). We didn't finish it and had no urge to retry. Not helped by an AI that wastes turns walking into fire/poison, or a wound system that lets you revive endlessly since…

I played the first campaign (act), so six missions out of 21. The game's turn-based combat started out fun, while story is forgettable standard fare, with extremely basic cut-scenes and rote atmosphere. Items and character development are very basic, but service the combats. What started like a servicable fast-food turn-based strategy game turned into a slog of combats with respawning enemies, culminating in a boss battle that was a chore even on normal difficulty, with a hit-point sponge boss…

I've played games like Divinity: Original Sin, Baldur's Gate 3, Pathfinder, Marvel's Midnight Suns, and Expedition 33, so I have plenty of experience with turn-based games. I would describe Terrinoth as a very simple version of a CRPG. This isn't an open-world game, and the story is fairly straightforward, taking you from one location to the next. For example, after finishing a mission in 007 First Light, you move on to another location. In Terrinoth, that's essentially moving from one dungeon…

This is not a fair review, I didn't give it much time, though I didn't know what I was getting into. TL:DR The characters of the game made me not want to experience the gameplay in under 20 minutes. I didn't like any of the starting four characters, (now I understand there are eight) A 'dumb' half-dragon paladin, a grandma drawf caster, a sterotypical fantasy elf (not in the legolas way) and a butch human female thief. All of it, no thanks. There is no customization here. I imagine the other…

After 7 hours, I feel a little more instruction in the beginning of the game could have been more helpful. Combat is easy to learn and strategy plays a big part in your decision making. I feel the inventory section is very restrictive compared to most games. It has an unique way of installing new items or switching them around. I do recommend the game for RPG lovers but would like to see them improvements in the future. I feel at this price the game should have more to it. 20 hours seems short.

A great CRPG-lite experience where scenarios take place in relatively compact dungeons and characters have a limited set of equipment and levelling abilities. The board game influence clearly shows through here, which could be a plus or not depending on your wants. Despite the relative simplicity by comparison to more expansive CRPG games, the battles' positioning, cooldown, and resource considerations nevertheless promote a very tactical playstyle, and at least for my part, I appreciate the…

I feel like I'm the perfect target demographic for this game. I play loads of tRPGs and I absolutely love Descent: Journeys In The Dark. I've played Runebound, I've played Runewars, I've even read the lore so I know what a star of timmeran is and what all the cities they mention in the game are. I even know who Mad Carthos is. Which is lucky - because when these things come up in the game it just doesn't explain them at all. Heroes of Terrinoth is a tRPG that gives you a small group of…

Fix the multiplayer bugs. Consistently when trying to position my characters one of them will seemingly float off in a random direction only to snap back to where they were when I click to move. This doesn't happen on the host so we had to screenshare to see where my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ character was half the time. It's a fairly minor bug all things considered but it makes the puzzles where you have to stand on pressure plates so much more frustrating. In one of the fights I tried doing the lunge attack…

multiplayer is broken and unusable and the game is pretty bare bones, I got it as a key gift from a relative so we could play together so no refund. dialogue and story is also pretty corny, but maybe some like it. I was mostly interested in the combat system. it's NO Divinity original Sin but for 30 euro I expected more, makes BG3 60$ price tag seem like a bargain. If they ever fix the multiplayer I will consider changing my review, but as of now it doesn't work at all as promised.

Game is fun, but has too many multiplayer bugs to enjoy. Fighting the vampire boss, lighting the braziers causes a desync for the non host player when he destroys them, and in many cases desync will just happen randomly, forcing a reload.

It's a good game for board game lovers. Classic dungeon crawling in a well established classic IP universe. All in all, decently made, however, there are a few strong negatives that won't make me press a thumbs up. 1. The graphics are awful and the performance is very bad for a simple game like this. Blurry, laggy mess with confusing parameters that don't do much. Such a shame, because the style is quite attractive. 2. Difficulty is all over the place. Elemental attacks are so random that it's…

The game definitely has potential, the gameplay is fun and it looks amazing. Unfortunately, at this time multiplayer is just too unstable to enjoy it. Randomly throws you out of the party, then rejoining is buggy, forcing you to restart the game and at the end, not even that worked anymore for me and my friends. Also loading times are super long. An insultingly uninspired story, shallow combat, wildly unbalanced skills, and buggy in multiplayer - many times we hit a hang (no crash) and the host needed to restart from a rollback position (SAVING GRACE: autosave is very helpful but we shouldn't have to rely on it once an hour). It's not a BAD game, but it's not a good one either. Good game. I am somewhat bothered by the instanced nature of the gameplay: you can't change weapons and armor away from camp, you can't update hero abilities away from camp. If you're coming from BG33 looking for something similar, this isn't exactly it. it's not a sandbox at all, more like a series of dungeon runs where you don't really affect the story or environments with your choices at all. The graphics are good enough though and the dialog is good enough, and well voice acted.…

I am a big fan of the Descent board game, and this game plays nothing like any of the editions. However, it still share some of their spirit: It is a "pure dungeon crawler". You don't really do anything beside fighting and solving puzzles in the dungeons. The fighting part is quite good actually. Most of the large battles are pretty tense, and the system works well. The lack of anything resembling an attack of opportunity may seem weird, but that was already the case in the board game: You are…

Finished the first chapter (5 missions) solo and wanted to collect some thoughts here. To start, the game visually reminds me of the Dungeons of Naheulbeuk (spelling is for losers), is fully voice acted, and has a number of companions that function uniquely with their own kits. Luckily for this game, that is where the similarities end. The voice acting in Terrinoth is very well done thus far; none of the purposefully grating lines/voices, some attempts at less cringey humor, no obnoxiously…

Since I wasn't the host I couldn't see certain menus like the shop and forge, delayed inputs and bugged abilities, targeting issues and map/turn-order desyncs made us reload or restart the client. It's been a while since I played the boardgame(s), so I don't know how faithful this is. But as a turn based SRPG, it seems solid. Nothing you haven't seen before, but a nice blend of simple environmental exploration, character power development, and a good amount of tactical options. This game feels like playing the actual Descent board-game. You take a party of 4 heroes into 1-2h missions (5 in a chapter - 4 chapters in total) where you engage in turn-based combat. Completed the game on veteran and it was more like normal, with a few fights not completed on first try. It is a fun light turn based CRPG game with light narration. There are 4 Chapters with 5 missions each. You have a team of 4 characters that you can pick from a roster of about 8. They all play differents and have some fun synergies. There are some balance issues in some skills (espcially the Ultimates, some are useless and some much stronger) and some combos don't work as well as others but it was a fun experience.

Cool characters, nice story setting and engaging fights are to be expected when you pick this game up, and it's even better when played with some friends. The only downside is that you're left with the need to play more!

I was surprised by this game. I love how it plays. Combat is fantastic and I like how you earn your gold and XPP at the end of each level. It's set up in a way where you pick your characters, buy your items, equip your heroes, level them up, then jump into a level where you explore, solve puzzles and fight your way out. At the end of each mission, you are awarded all the EXP, gear, items and spells you have earned in that mission. Looking forward to playing more of this!

Alright, I have been for over 20 hours and I have to say sadly, dont buy this game. The game keeps crashing in multiple ways: -commands grey out mid fight, needing to reload the save. -there is the black screen of death during cinematics for anyone who is not the host -we would lose access to some if not all the usual access to the games systems. I bought this game because it showed promise to be a cool fantasy coop game but with the amount of times we had to reload I can barely remember the…

TLDR; I don't hate this game and there are some challenging fights and well built archetypes to entertain the SRPG vet (on the hardest difficulty), but I've encountered several glaring bugs, some of them gamebreaking. I just beat this so revising my review, tentative recommend but if you like to be challenged I wouldn't play this on anything but the hardest difficulty. There's some good stuff here but it's very flawed. Don't go in expecting really any kind of metagaming except level perks,…

I recently played the tutorial and first quest with friends after that. The game is a lot of fun. The only issues my friends observed (as I was hosting) was some rubber banding when moving out of combat. If you like turn based tactic rpgs you will most likely like this. Also I have notied the devs are extremely active with patching the game right now. They demonstrate a real effort in adressing peoples concerns. So kudos to them.

Whether you are interested in buying this game or are just curious, here's a brief assessment now that I have completed it. The combat, progression, and upgrades are pretty basic. If you are looking for complexity and novelty, this is not the game for you. However, basic is fine if you like this genre and just want to have a good time; I am one of those people, and I really enjoyed this game. The synergies, skills, and different buffs and debuffs are very well explained and make you…

Pros: Really fun game that turns the board game into a TRPG (though different mechanics) If you're looking for a great TRPG for solo play, here is your game for sure. not as open and selective as something like balder's gate, but more of a cross over between a board game (which is where this originated from) and a TRPG. Cons: Co-op is a buggy mess. even just loading the current save and inviting players will desync the environment, hp bars of allies + enemies, charges of abilities +…

I enjoyed the game at first, but the Berserker was a huge disappointment. The game already has a dual-wield assassin, yet there is no classic two-handed warrior. After almost 20 hours of gameplay, I unlocked the Berserker expecting a greatsword or greataxe fighter. Instead, I got a jumping, unarmed beastman. Innovation is fine, but not when it replaces a basic fantasy archetype that should have been in the game from the start. It feels like ordering a steak and getting something completely…

Such a good game. If you played their previous game (The Dungeon Of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet Of Chaos) you will see a lot of similarities, but way more polished. The teams are good, the runs being made by missions is much better... I don't love turn based games, but I play some. I am having no trouble into playing it on hardest mode, if you love being challenged, go for one save only (you only fail the mission, not everything). Just play it

6/10 The game is fun, especially for those who enjoy turn-based tactical games like me, but there are some points that could be improved. Exploring the maps is quite tedious because the characters are slow; I also found the hiding places and puzzles somewhat silly and repetitive. You're forced to reveal the entire map to find treasures, which is annoying because the fun part is the combat. The combat is good; there's a wide variety of skills, characters, and items to create something unique.…

An engaging game as far as I can tell with my limited game time. It is a tactical turn-based RPG where you are doing exclusively dungeon crawling. If you are into deep RPG mechanics this is probably *not* a game you'd enjoy. There is no character generator or expansive dialog trees. No overworld or complex character systems. However, if you enjoy dungeon romps with traps, localized exploration, basic squad management and decent turn-based combat it is well worth a look. I played only solo so…
