Tesla motors began in 2003 and Elon Musk was nowhere near it. He didn’t become CEO until 2008 after he bought some stock. Grok told me. 😆

neutral · AI labelView post →I just watched The Current War and even though they had an image of an elephant in the promo stuff, Tommy E doesn’t electrocute any pachyderms in the movie. But lemme tell ya, homes zapped him some elephants!
positive · AI labelView post →So stoked for Michael Shannon as Garfield, btw. He basically already played the same part in The Current War (Westinghouse killing the Confederate scout is an amazing bit) but that movie is fucking amazing so I'm amped
positive · AI labelView post →Now I know why The Current War flopped. They made a movie partially accurate about how big of a douchebag Edison was, and they ended it giving him credit for something the didn’t invent (motion pictures) for the sake of a “wow we’re watching this movie because of him” moment. Irony is dead, people.

negative · AI labelView post →Most likely because Benedict Cumberbatch was in a movie about Edison and Tesla called The Current War. Doesn't matter that he played Edison. Just matters that he was the most famous.
neutral · AI labelView post →It’s a still of Nicholas Hoult playing Tesla from the movie The Current War
neutral · AI labelView post →also should be said I may be the only person around here who is a massive fan of The Current War movie about AC/DC currents
positive · AI labelView post →I think this is an image from the movie The Current War, Nicholas Hoult played Tesla. But yeah, he should have used a real image of Nikola.
neutral · AI labelView post →Terribly underappreciated film. Makes a great pairing with The Current War.
positive · AI labelView post →The Current War focuses on Westinghouse vs Edison for who brings the nation electricity, but the film really shines in showing how their ideas were so brilliant that we still use the technology, built in the 1880s, today. A well done film with some layers of intrigue.
positive · AI labelView post →I remain a one-man fan club for The Current War. It's such a good movie and no one ever talks about it.

neutral · AI labelView post →This is a decent, if ponderous, piece of cinema entertainment featuring some A-list talent depicting an almost entirely fictional account of the battle to establish the standard of electrical current we all use today. Tesla is largely ignored (maybe Nicholas Hoult didn't have too many spare filming days in his schedule) and as such the credibility of the whole storyline is undermined. Tom Holland and Matthew Macfadyen deliver well on the supporting front, but Benedict Cumberbatch doesn't quite…

neutral · AI labelView post →In another case of “when bad movies happen to great actors“, 'The Current War' has all the elements for a great picture including its exceptional cast, but lacks the base appeal for the people who have to buy a ticket. Sadly, this is a rare and unfortunate case of the sum of the film's parts being greater than the whole. - Jess Fenton Read Jess' full article... https://www.maketheswitch.com.au/article/review-the-current-war-edison-versus-westinghouse-the-ultimate-grudge-match-with-no-winner
negative · AI labelView post →Well acted and reasonably engaging, although there's a significant disconnect between form and content >The electric-lighting company with which I am connected purchased some time ago the patents for a complete alternating system, and my protest against this action can be found upon its minute-book. Up to the present time I have succeeded in inducing them not to offer this system to the public, nor will they ever do so with my consent. My personal desire would be to prohibit entirely the use of…
