The Deed: Dynasty
Developer Pilgrim Adventures
Getting away with murder has never been easy. These three members of a proud and noble family are separated by five centuries, but have in common a vengeful and murderous intent. Plans must be formed, blood must be spilled and evidence must be planted ... From the Steam store page

What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 179 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (836 of 1,028 positive).
Players praise the game's concept of a reverse murder mystery where you plan a crime and frame someone else. [1][2][3] Some reviewers find the execution flawed, with repetitive gameplay and linear logic. [4][5][6] The game is noted for its multiple stories and replayability, though it can become tedious. [7][8][9]

As much as I love the idea of an inverted detective game, The Deed Dynasty just doesn't work. The collection of potential frameups consists of a single track per potential victim, and some fairly obvious logical leaps just don't get made (for some reason, framing the victim as a heretic in the witch hunting times scenario doesn't count as a motive for anyone who hates heretics, not even the person he explicit gave …

This is a short murder-planning simulator where you explore a house, gather evidence, and carefully frame everyone except yourself. You replay the same night multiple times, slowly optimizing your crime like it’s a speedrun. It’s clever, replayable, and makes you feel smart for five minutes before the game proves you missed something obvious. Weirdly satisfying. Still awful morally. Recommended.

The Deed: Dynasty is a lovely little game about family, legacy, and the ancient tradition of saying, “For legal reasons, I didn’t do it.” It’s part murder mystery, part puzzle, and part “how many times can I rewind time before the guilt reaches critical mass.” You play as a person in a wealthy, extremely messy family where everyone has secrets, everyone is suspicious, and the air smells like inherited trauma and …

The game is designed for multiple runs because there are numerous solutions and options. The mansion contains numerous objects that can be used as weapons and items that will provide the protagonist with an alibi and point to someone else.

This game is free to keep before CHRISTMAS 2025 so grab it!! Unlike The Deed, this game has THREE different stories to play. However, beware OCD gamers; the resolution will F*CK all your application window orientations so if you have them centered and a certain size you'll be furious like myself. 8/10

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jst like the original The Deed, its a crime game with a villain protag. The text amounts boosted tons, bt gameplay still has 0 creativity. u get bored super easy from the highly repetitive murder and frame-up loops. The conviction logic also has major flaws.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all if you want to enjoy this game you need to hold Shift to skip dialoges and not randomly choose one of dialoges option. Second of all i like the concept of the game but execution is very poorly done. There is many possibilities but they are are very linear. If you want to frame someone you need to choose exact weapon, exact peace of evidence and plant it at correct spot plus there are various dialog options that have to be valid as well. It doesnt seem odd at first but it means you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Essentially, it's just a visual novel with super basic dialogue. If you're looking for a dull read, I highly recommend it. I enjoy reading, but honestly, this is a disappointment. I don’t even mind the retro 1983 graphics, but the whole experience is far too vanilla for my taste. 1/10

Also, the weapon used to kill the governor is the primary utensil that the dude you framed uses in his everyday life" "So did I finally manage to get away with the murder?" "Nice joke we don't care about evidence, you are the culprit because you know, everyone could have took the weapon (so of course you took it and no one else did) and all the other evidence is waaaaay too weak. So you are the culprit.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decent RPG maker game with 3 different stories where your goal is not murder a specific person and get away with it by pinning the murder on someone else. In each story you have multiple weapons, evidence and people you can pin the murder to. It is decent fun however does get a bit repetitive hunting down every scenario. Game works without any issues on Linux with Proton (9.0).

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heated Rivalry is a romance but the end game is not sex. We’re not building up to The Deed and then everything works out after. We’re following two characters who want each other but the external pressures of multiple cultural layers keeps them from even dating normally.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →RPG Maker strikes again! The Deed: Dynasty is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. This RPG Maker asset flip is the third in a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I went back and forth on this one for a while. My experience was a pretty mixed bag, but I can see a lot of the charm and, frankly, the game is super cheap so I'm hesitant to be too critical. Since there's no "maybe" option for reviews though, I'll have to give it a "no" and do my best to explain why. For the good: I think the concept here is honestly really compelling!! It was interesting to explore the different levels, work to understand how you can put together your alibi as well as…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dynasty in The Deed offers replayable narratives with family intrigue. Decisions ripple across generations, endings satisfying. Compact storytelling works well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Deed: Dynasty is an unusual narrative-driven experience that combines murder mystery with strategic manipulation, placing players in a morally gray role where success comes not from justice but from deception. Developed by Pilgrim Adventures and released by GrabTheGames and WhisperGames, the game continues the premise of its predecessor while expanding across multiple time periods, tracing the legacy of the Bruce family as they commit calculated acts of violence for reasons ranging from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this series. It might be counter intuitive that the more conversation you make, the more suspicious you become, so plan ahead!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked The Deed. Planning a murder and setting things up to pin it on someone else gives it a fun little twist. Worth a look if you enjoy making choices and seeing how your scheme plays out.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very old game. You are set up to fail and can only win after playing the same scenario plenty of times without walkthroughs, cus just trying to know the background of everyone makes you sus as hell and some of those sus options you cant possibly know they are making you sus the first time. Since it is old the design is also old, having an idea about evidence A being planted at location C? cant work, or just not in one of the game's "correct placement" Guess it can be good if you got a lot of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unlike the prequel, I don't enjoy The Deed: Dynasty. While there are 3 different stories to play, all of them require very specific weapon, evidence and evidence placement to prevent yourself from getting arrested. If you failed to do that or the authority suspect you for another reason, it's almost certain they'll arrest you.
