positive · AI labelView post →Kinda disappointed that no one more technologically talented than me has re-edited the trailer of our latest “feel bad movie of Christmas,” Nosferatu, in the style of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Complete with Immigrant Song (which may be even more fitting for Dracula).
neutral · AI labelView post →In addition to the stuff already listed: In the Swedish film version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", Lisbeth and the hacker dude use Ubuntu, especially in the scene where they recover the stuff from Lisbeth's broken laptop. (In the US version, they decided to use Macs instead. And included a scene where she goes to an Apple store with the broken laptop and they helpfully tell her shit's unfixable. Realism.)
neutral · AI labelView post →haha yeah that’s basically what I meant the girl is important enough to be in the title, therefore it’s a movie only for girls you know, like “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.” or “Annie Hall. or “Lolita.”

positive · AI labelView post →Books to films 📚=🎞️ The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2005) by Stieg Larsson was filmed in 2009 & 2011 (dir: D. Fincher). The 2009 film is closer to the novel while the 2011 film even changes the ending. Social commentary is also reduced & the male protagonist given more time. 👩💻🐉🔥 #filmsky #booksky

neutral · AI labelView post →On the commentary track for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, David Fincher said that working with cats on film is difficult. He admired the cat in the movie and said, “That’s good cat acting.” I think about this whenever I see a cat in a film.

Intriguing & mean-spirited, mystery features strong performances & solid procedural logic. #filmsky 📽

That and Corridor Crew going behind the scenes showing how much work the artist out into the movies, just for the directors to talk about how everything was in frame and that. Hell, Godzilla (2014) and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) had a similar amount of CGI shots,…

While not the most graphic show Ive seen (despite multiple onscreen dismemberments), it's easily the most adult oriented cartoon/anime I've watched. It's…

Was obsessed with Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy when books were published & the original Swedish film adaptations. Rewatching series. 1st film, Rapace is a badass. #filmsky 📽

neutral · AI labelView post →Book / movie recommendation for the weekend. Older but still very good. The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo. The movie has the best intro ever
positive · AI labelView post →Probably that bit in the US remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo where the serial killer puts Enya's Orinoco Flow on in his underground torture dungeon as he's about to start carving up Daniel Craig. Don't like the film as a whole, but that's a fantastic joke.

positive · AI labelView post →The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo film (2011) is insane because it's LITERALLY everything I like, it's directed by Fincher, it's an adaptation of my favorite book series, the soundtrack is done by Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross, opening track has Karen O, and yet I still somehow prefer the Swedish films.
neutral · AI labelView post →#FantasyIndiesMaytober 22 Stephen King's The Mist is easily my favorite book-to-film adaptation. Lord of the Rings, obviously, is the go-to one. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is good (more so the Swedish version than the American remake, and they did the whole trilogy).
positive · AI labelView post →Hollywood has committed a lot of crimes over the years. One of the biggest is that they never made sequels to David Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo with Daniel Craig & Rooney Mara. Don't talk to me about The Girl In The Spider's Web. That film is an abomination.

positive · AI labelView post →Add "for tax purposes" to a movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for Tax Purposes
neutral · AI labelView post →I think The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is an excellent example of this, because it was adapted twice. The first adaptation, the Swedish film, is splendid and deviates somewhat, mostly due to editing. The second, directed by Fincher, incorporates more of the text and feels clumsy and derivative.
neutral · AI labelView post →I've always found the convention where an English-language film set in a non-English-speaking place adopts the accent of that place (e.g. Schindler's List, the English version of the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) to be a little odd. They wouldn't have accents with each other.

This film does a handsome job of not holding your hand, doesn’t pull its punches even at the worst times, and drags you in with an interesting plot and world building. Great movie. 4/5 stars #filmsky #movies #Letterboxd

positive · AI labelView post →Can a case be made that his adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is Fincher’s horniest movie?
neutral · AI labelView post →Additionally, I think Lisbeth Salander (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) is a fascinating goth vengeance figure. And love or hate the film, it's undeniable that Aaliyah is a true goth queen in Queen of the Damned. I will die mad that we didn't get to see more of her talents in this life. 🖤
neutral · AI labelView post →I think both Casino Royale and Fincher's The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo are better. (Tenet is pretty good but the trouble with it as a Bond film is that it doesn't really care about Bond.)
positive · AI labelView post →As long as they follow OPs premise. There's been lame US remakes of good movies where they could have just watched the original with subtitles. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, for example.
neutral · AI labelView post →Since it came up in conversation earlier today, threw on Fincher's version of THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO over lunch, and there's a funny convention in this film where the dialog is in English, but writing/signage is in Swedish *except* when it's plot-related.
