neutral · AI labelView post →Saw The Hole In The Ground I feel like audiences were still unfamiliar with the A24 style (ironically this film actually has a few jumpscares) because this had some great atmospheric scenes
positive · AI labelView post →#Folktober movie 14: The Hole in the Ground (2019). A single Irish mom fears that her son is no longer what he seems. Fae horror is an underserved genre, and this film sits at the intersection of that, psychological horror, and pure monster film. A bit of a slow burn, but a good watch overall.
positive · AI labelView post →THE HOLE IN THE GROUND That was a pretty tense, well done changeling movie. Atmospheric, beautiful scenery, and a fairy fort to boot. Maybe not the most original movie ever made, but pretty good story and acting. 7.5/10 #100HorrorMoviesIn92Days #HorrorSky
positive · AI labelView post →Share a horror movie that isnt talked about enough. The Hole in the Ground directed by Lee Cronin with Seána Kerslake (2019 ) 🍷
neutral · AI labelView post →Sounds like THE MUMMY might be a dud, so here's me reminding you that Lee Cronin's debut feature, THE HOLE IN THE GROUND is a stone-cold banger. A horror film rooted in Irish folklore that explores the terrors of motherhood, but embraces being a creature feature - not a hollow exercise in trauma.
positive · AI labelView post →What's a horror film that more people should be aware of? The Hole in the Ground directed by Evil Dead Rise filmmaker Lee Cronin
neutral · AI labelView post →Ok well that was terrible. Onward to the next film: The Hole in the Ground.

Lisa Hannigan pares it back to reveal the menace in this schoolyard song. I only know it from this youtube version coming from the The Hole in the Ground movie. youtu.be/tO8H786qBDE
neutral · AI labelView post →I watched The Hole in the Ground (2019), a psychological/supernatural/monster movie based around Irish folklore. It's definitely a 'slow burn', but the performances were so good and kept me invested until the end. The big reveal had me genuinely scared (and not just because it was 2am, ok? 👀)
positive · AI labelView post →i forgot to tag you the other day to ask you about The HOle in the Ground, which is present day but a film i would consider "folk horror." Have you seen it ?
neutral · AI labelView post →Genuinely one of the most fun, interesting events I've done in such a long, long time for Sophie White's day of horror at DCU All Hallows. Lee Cronin and I had the best talk about getting into film-making, The Hole In The Ground and #EvilDeadRise until he took a bit of a turn... (1/2)
neutral · AI labelView post →It’s October, which means one scary movie a day! Today’s movie was The Hole in the Ground. It’s an Irish horror film about a mother whose son gets lost out in the forest near this mysterious giant crater, and when she finds him again she starts to think maybe he was replaced by a changeling.
neutral · AI labelView post →(It occurs to me that you could make a solid little mini-film festival starting with Unwelcome, The Hole in the Ground, and Fréwaka. And others, I'm sure; an astonishing number of recent horror films have "rural Ireland" and its folklore as a starting point.)
neutral · AI labelView post →I really liked his first full length film, The Hole in the Ground
positive · AI labelView post →Also recommend his first film, The Hole In The Ground, where even more parent nightmare's await. Irish folklore and changelings and children stolen away . . . and a hole . . . in the ground.
positive · AI labelView post →Lee Cronin is an Irish filmmaker. He is best known for directing horror films such as The Hole in the Ground (2019), Evil Dead Rise (2023), and this film.

neutral · AI labelView post →The Hole In The Ground is his best movie imo but I love Rise
positive · AI labelView post →Agreed. IDK if you've seen Lee Cronin's previous, directorial film "The Hole In The Ground", but it is VERY different from this one in terms of tone. It's also pretty decent IMO. Also, between those two films, I'm convinced Mr. Cronin hates eyes.
positive · AI labelView post →The Hole in the Ground (2019) is another one that's almost a really good movie. It almost -- but does not quite -- capture the uncanniness of its subject matter. Also, it seems like an Irish changeling movie needs to do a little more to contend with the history of changelings as a cover for abuse.
neutral · AI labelView post →Was watching the Hole in the Ground last night (still good) and was reminded that there were three attempts at the same Irish folk tale horror movie and the American one was by far the worst.
positive · AI labelView post →The Hole In The Ground (2023) is such a solid horror movie. Was your child replaced by a changeling, or are you losing your mind? So much dread. Loved it.

neutral · AI labelView post →Watching "The Hole in the Ground" which I think is the only other feature film directed by the guy who made Evil Dead Rise and The Mummy (2026). I re-watched both of those today, they're both really good but I prefer Rise because it has a much higher kill count. Not many people die in The Mummy.
neutral · AI labelView post →Ghost Train → The Hole in the Ground → Evil Dead Rise → The Mummy. If you've tracked Lee Cronin's career, nothing about this film will surprise you. Everything about it will satisfy you. #LeeCronin youtu.be/YAxuXvnpe8k

neutral · AI labelView post →This was a breathtaking film with beautiful scenery and a story lathered with mystery and eldritch dread; giving a lot to chew on with what's really going on in this section of the forest. Kinda reminds of when I was watching The Hole In The Ground, of the implication of what lurks in the forest. /2

neutral · AI labelView post →Pretty much my thoughts at the beginning of The Hole in the Ground (2019), a movie that did not improve after the opening shot (an upside-down drone shot that followed a car).
negative · AI labelView post →Movie choice. 🍿The Hole in the Ground. 83% critics score. On many minds. Haunting and could be real, real soon.
positive · AI labelView post →check out The Hole In The Ground from 2019 - an Irish horror film where a single mother moves to rural Ireland weird things start happening. has none of what you mention as things to avoid. it's good
positive · AI labelView post →If you're a fan of tension and original creature concepts then add 'Daddy's Head' to your list. I went in skeptical (bored to tears by CGI monster reveals and jump scares) but it was a fantastic little atmospheric film a la Babadook and The Hole in the Ground. #horror #horrormovies #daddyshead
neutral · AI labelView post →Not good but amusing. Irish folklore as trauma. Had to happen eventually. Already did, I suppose. Funny this film makes reference to changelings and features a big hole in the ground when Evil Dead Rise director, Lee Cronin, made Changeling horror, The Hole in the Ground in 2019.

neutral · AI labelView post →in a weird way I kind of want this movie to be bad, so I can say something smartarsed like "The filmmakers called this THE HOLE IN THE GROUND, but it's actually complete ass. You may draw your own conclusions from that"
negative · AI labelView post →@mxsharknado93.bsky.social @petervulfranc.bsky.social hey ya, tonight we got indie Irish horror movie The Hole in the Ground at 9:30 EST
neutral · AI labelView post →Watched this last night as part of my ramp-up for Evil Dead Rise. (Lee Cronin directed both). Evil Dead looks to be in good hands. The story on this one is no revelation, but it's quite well-made. Cronin shows a knack for dread, for creepy not-quite-humans, for memorable images, for leveraging sound and music well, and he wrings anxiety out of tiny moments. The only thing I hated was the cliché opening sequence with desaturated drone footage of a forest, punctuated by the equally cliché…
positive · AI labelView post →Both leads deserve props, but I don't think the thing really vibes for me. I've seen it done before, a lot, and I don't think anyone's ever really nailed it. The Hole in the Ground doesn't change my mind on that, and the whole thing starts to feel very familiar by the half-way point. I appreciated The Hole in the Ground, but I don't think I can recommend it. Final rating:★★½ - Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite work as a whole.
