I do not really leave reviews... but I think people should know, this game is just a micro manage simulator. I felt punished for playing the game not rewarded for looting 10 apartments and getting nothing that would help me with the stupid overheating mechanic. I really like this. Much better than 7 Days 2 Die. I get to live longer than a week for one thing. Also, I have a lot of freedom in The Infected. As long as they don't add a horde of zombies like 7 Days did, we'll continue to love the heck out of this game. 30 hours of wasted time on this game... finding the quad bike? I think I've been to at least 7 villages and the big city, but it's nowhere to be found... finding technology pages... I've found 5, and in the end, I unlocked almost nothing. Everything in this game is complicated; it's drawn out like an 8-hour movie when it could be just as good in 2 hours. Clearly, the developers here want to make you sweat and stay in their game forever, but I'm passing on this one.

Yes, I've tried it multiple times, but unfortunately, I still cannot recommend the game. The developer asked for feedback twice, which was provided, but he clearly isn't listening. When I bought the game back in 2021, it at least had a map where you could build properly, find resources from the start, and the "gameplay" (if you can even call it that) was much more intuitive. Now, the map feels empty despite the POIs. These POIs look different but contain exactly the same loot. Buildings are…

I feel like the game has some pretty good potential, but something about it just feels...stiff, or maybe even stuck? I'm not convinced that the devs are completely sure where they are going with the game and or where they want to go with it? I dunno, I would like to thumbs up, but I can't.

Been there since day 1. The game has basically not improved and I do miss the early versions. Enemies where better and the game had a vibe. The vibe is gone and the new map is just too large and has far too many mountains. Gameplay loop is basically micro management for 90% of the play time. Combat is still really clunky and SOMEHOW the graphics of the POIs are worse now. It had a lot of potential but I really don't like it anymore, even though I used to love it. The only thing that still…

Genuinely, the ONLY thing stopping me from really playing this game is that it’s single player. My wife and I love these games and we’re super bummed out to find that we can’t play it together. Definitely an odd choice for a survival game. We’ll be giving it a play through if it should ever get multiplayer, but I doubt that’ll ever be a thing. Strictly due to the devs promising that multiplayer will never happen is likely the main reason the player count is so low. And why it gets a thumbs…

really wanted to give it a try but one stupid thing after another i just can't go over anymore... tech unlocks are all over the place, if you don't do your research you will waste time crafting useless items because the finished product is blocked by a tech you don't already have ,you are allowed to craft the most expensive parts of it before that. like the pickaxe / axe iron heads but can't put them on a stick without an advanced workbench yet you could make a saw table using only logs…

Latest update ruined every bit of fun this game possible had and could have. Tech Points are impossible to find now and I have been patience for long enough now scouting for Tech Points. And to boot, Trader Jobs are bugged out so I can't trade in items for coins and tech points. Uninstalled and done.

I usually try to give a game 300 to 400 hours before reviewing it to allow for updates and fixes. Took only about 40hrs to build and find everything. No updates of any meaning or that add anything. Sorry, more pieces of paper to collect does not a story make. Game "appears" dead. Nothing to do. Stable yes, but beyond boring now. Total yawnfest. Dev's are around though so I guess its possible something may happen...eventually.

Just wish they sorted out the balancing on power issues on the last patch... with new addons tech needing 350 power...... So play for ages to get blueprints then you need to build 50 power plants to power your base. Just a time sink grind. Great if you have "tism". The old map was really great and seemed realistic unlike the current map. I loved playing this game as a survival game. I played for a while and lost interest like many people do. After ~11 hours I can say I was positively surprised how solid this game is. It is very grindy with lots of running around gathering stuff but if you like micromanagement and moving a lot of stuff back and forth with your mouse, or controller, then this is your game. I would compare it to The Forest and Icarus combined with Green Hell's food system. And a sprinkle of 7D2D hordes and base defending. Pros + Fairly big open world with caves, towns, a city and traders + Fair amount of building…

Absolutely terrible. How has this game been in early access for 5 years and still has this clunky, slow U.I. The combat feels horrific, and the game runs like trash (with a 4060 Ti, 32 GBs of ram, i7-14700f). This is a game I would get for free on my tablet in 2015. This game would be barely worth 3 dollars, let alone 15. I cant discourage people from getting this game enough.

The defining thing here for me is the ability to turn the vambies off. I LOVE the survival aspect of the game but I am not someone that can deal with the very scary vampire zombies lol. I love the mechanics of this game and the look of it so much! I do wish there were more instructions on how the power and water and such works because I've found myself having to google a bunch, but it's usually decently easy to find information so at least there's that!

I enjoyed the detail put into everything from making food, clothing, tools, machines, vehicles and buildings. Sadly I can't recommend this game at this time - it needs so much work and its been out long enough to get the longest early access award. Also, I don't think the developer wants to put any more effort into it and though several gamers still play it, most of us feel that its a dead game. Go buy something else until it ... idk ... gets fish stocked in the empty ponds that you are supposed to fish in? So freaking awkward.

I consider games to have a certain texture to them. This game has the texture of a unity store asset flip. The bones are there, but there's no flesh attached to the bones. Maybe i'm being too harsh, but when there's thousands of better options on deck, there's no point to playing this.

Especially for people who enjoy building. For me, the game lost its appeal after about 50 hours. At that point, I had unlocked all the buildings and technologies available through tech, but I had only built a few of them. All the others seem to make life easier, but the game had long since ceased to be challenging. If they refine this aspect, it could become a real long-term hobby. Let's hope for the best ;-)

Here’s a strong review you could post based on playing 218 hours of The Infected. I kept it natural and honest, like something written by someone who actually spent a long time in the game. For beginners this is an actual hard-survival game. Even experienced players can mess up sometimes. There is a lack of guides for some features/items/activities so you have to spend hours in forums or in those "lets play" videos and hope to catch what you are looking to understand. Sigh... I bought the game years ago and decided to finally give it a go just now. The Vambie AI is horrible. Combat is lackluster, I like the tech system but the game really feels VERY bland. It is quite grindy which is something I like but then again many QOL features are missing. Having to place exact amounts of resources is one of them. While the graphics are okay-ish, animations are boring and just feel janky, same as fighting. I would not recommend it at this price.

I like that this is very single player friendly and I really like the updates; I was frustrated with having hours of progress but losing it because I didn't know I had to manually save, so thanks for the reminders :)
