Absolutely abysmal horror game that you can pretty much guess the ending of during the first minute. You are a young mother walking around in the worst excuse for an amusement park ever, looking for her son who most definitely is there..., all while you prattle a monologue about that reads as a parody of a r/childfree post, find notes mostly referencing another game and suffer during a 7 minute long unskipable ride …

The game was just my speed! Due to the game art emphasizing the park's chipmunk character, you'd be forgiven for thinking this was some kind of Five Nights at Freddy's animatronic jumpscare game - it's not. Instead, it's more of a traditional 'walking sim' as much as those can be considered to have traditions. You're playing the perspective of a mother running after her bratty kid who ran back into the park after it closed. You are walking along, exploring, and reading as the story unfolds.…

The Park is a horror walking sim, set in what seems to be the late 1970s (or early 1980s). Worth noting that while this game is a spin-off game to the MMO The Secret World, which I've played a bit and found very fascinating (I have however not played the quests that ties into the story of this game), it is completly stand-alone and can be enjoyed without any knowledge of it. You play as Lorraine, having visited the Atlantic Island Park, as her son runs back in to the closed park looking for a…

"The Park" is a horror-themed Walking Sim developed and published by Funcom. In the game, we take control of Lorraine Maillard, a widowed mother of a single son, Callum. After Callum gets lost in the Atlantic Island Park, Lorraine enters the amusement park after closing hours and has to face not only the sinister, supernatural forces that seem to be embedded deeply within the Park and its history, but also her own tragic past as well as her struggles as a mother. So, what did I like about the…

I find it hard to believe this game has any good reviews. The story has the flavor of a bunch of chewed gum. The voice acting is annoying. The map is full of dead ends. The controls and movement are janky. Literally at one point, you are forced to sit on a Ferris wheel for 5 minutes that you can barely see out of. That is about as exciting as the game play gets. I got it on sale and refunded and still feel ripped off.

Early on you ride an escalator for a solid minute while the protagonist rambles on about how cool theme parks are. Shortly afterwards, you get on a swan ride where for SEVEN AND A HALF MINUTES you are told the story of Hansel & Gretel. Absolutely nothing else happens during this sequence, and you can do nothing except look slightly to the left and the right. This unfortunately sets the tone for the rest of the game, which I'll admit does present some interesting ideas, but somehow manages to…

A trip just in time for Halloween. Fun for the whole family, my son loves it here. Atlantic Island Park were kind enough to give us the whole place to ourselves too. Chad the chipmunk was a great guide, all the rides were free (shock therapy was my favorite) and I even got this bloody ice pick souvenir too. Tell your friends, bring your kids.

The beginning started relatively slow and the gameplay is very linear with very little explore beyond that. There isn't much deviation you can do, since one action triggers the next. You mostly find out about the characters and lore from the notes you read and from some of the dialogue. Personally, this game wasn't too crazy interesting until the last part of the game. It gave off PT-esque style of gameplay with disturbing (and sometimes funny) notes and a creepy atmosphere. I wish I could have…

wow, this game was not good. First off let me preface this review. This game is weird, really weird. But not the cool weird, the kind that you get from the likes of pathologic and og fallout, or any oldschool adventure game. No, this is like, bad weird. Unpolished visuals, and uncanny character models weird. But it doesn't stop here. The game follows the story of a mother attempting to rescue her son from a haunted park. You get the idea, and the premise is not half bad but ooh boy do they…

"The Park" is a very short and above-average horror game. Judging on its own, I'd say is worth a try when on sale! But there is MORE to this specific game. For those who don't know, the MMORPG "The Secret World Legends" did one thing absolutely right: give us a horror atmosphere with great quests (especially in the 1st Arc). On Solomon Island, we have visited The Park before and it left such a strong impression, that they actually made this game in response. Once again we face Nathaniel…

Its a walking simulator, no more or no less. It's.... ok I spose. You go in the amusment park to find your kid, walk around for a bit, then the game ends in an interrogation room with you explaining where you last saw your son. I can see and appreciate that the creators of this game tried. They didn't phone it in. And yet, The Park is a bad game. The Park is a bare-bones horror walking simulator in the kindest of terms. The scares are hackneyed, hitting a very rare valley on the jump/scare graph that emerges as defiantly impotent. The Park is both well behind and right on top of the times, taking influence from popular games that preceded it while generally fumbling them mechanically. Two examples: the player…

This should be read as a neutral review except there's no such option; I would be inclined to say I like it overall, I don't mind that it's short (you probably want to only ever buy this on sale though), I don't mind that it's a walking simulator (it's just a visual novel in 3D with extra steps, really (pun not intended)), I enjoyed the atmosphere and storytelling and visuals and sound design and I think that was all well done. This game was a bit rubbish. Its a walking simulator through a creepy theme park and a loose story line about a woman suffering from trauma induced and possibly prolonged post-natal depression. It has some not very scary jump scares and an attempt at a scary ending...which was a rubbish lazy ending. But there is literally no game play, its just walking around until you thankfully get to the ending, which luckily is long because its such a short game.

It's really hard to recommend this one, especially at $12.99. I completed a blind run where I found every note I could in well under 2 hours and the entire experience feels like a fragment of a larger story because it feels like there's SO MUCH missing context and abandoned plot threads. It also completely abandons the marketed premise of exploring an abandoned amusement park by the end and turns into a bootleg Silent Hill with a rushed ending. Overall, good graphics, and eerie atmosphere, with a dark and twisted story line that is cohesive. The other "plus" to this game, is riding on the rides is fun. A quick game that satisfied my appetite for atmospheric horror. It's not the scariest game out there, but the beautiful yet grim and gritty visuals and the ability to interact with certain objects make for an immersive, visually pleasing experience. This is not a good horror game. There are far better walking sims. This is not a good story. This needs to be a better thought-out, written, and embodied character. The intro says, "This game deals with subject matter that might be disturbing..." I disagree; this game doesn't "deal with" its sensitive subject matter; it simply uses it. Even considering the too often low bar of horror game standards, the way this game presents its elements is crass. I don't recommend this game.

A very short, atmospheric horror story that doesn't require much decision-making, just steer from one jump scare to another. It's kind of fun, if you're into scary stuff, though the mythology (especially the Lovecraftian touches) don't make sense. The plot, too, is very easy to guess. I will give credit to the developer(s) who pushed the limits in terms of horror content; this is not PG13, it's a hard R. I can't wholeheartedly recommed the game except to die-hard players of this subgenre.

First of all this is why you buy games in the steam sales so they will cost less than $1, second this is what we call asset flip, Third and last this is a mom PTSD simulator but the game is 1 hour lol.

Y'all want to know something? This game used to be free, but now it costs 12 dollars. Now, say if this game was free (again), then I would say it would be better because this game is not really that good. The only time I liked it was when Markiplier played it because of his stupid reactions (that is how I found it as well), so I played it it was not good. My friend loves this because of the loading screens. Now I am tired of typing, so yeah, just know it used to be free.

This game is for: People who like to give in to despair and stab their kids.. whilst listening to soundtrack of old radio tunes and back-masking craziness layered in.. This didn't blow up when it originally came out, but it surprisingly has a market in 2024.. 11/10

The problem I have with this game is the lack of emotion, yes the lady swears and calls out for the boy, but end of the day she's not angry and contradicts herself within 5 minutes of two statements. Also the repetition areas where you do the same section about god knows how many times just became boring, where I feel it was meant to crank up the fear and emotion. I have to say completed in under an hour.

Absolutely loved this. I wouldn't call it a game. It is an interactive story/narrative. They did such an amazing job with building the tension, between the ambiance and details in the game. This story had my jaw on the floor. A fantastic thriller/psychological story. Don't go into this expecting a regular horror game. This is an experience, and story based. Had a few great jump scares but it was more of an eerie/creepy feeling throughout. I grabbed it on sale, definitely worth it

it has an interesting way of telling a story, but it is very slow going. Has one decent scare in it, as well as the house of horrors being pretty interesting. The rest of the park is pretty mediocre. I wish there were more secrets/hidden areas to find. All in all the story was pretty good and i did enjoy myself. If you have a fear of parks this *might* be scary. PS. Please for the love of god let me turn off the blur effect that's on everything beyond 10 feet in front of the character. It…
