Honestly, this game is pretty cool. I'm only downvoting because there's a bug in the campaign that causes the threat level across all campaigns you start up to be at the same level. So, once you've played the campaign through, and the threat level is maxed in that campaign, you start every campaign at max threat level. Even if you play it on easy. Fix the bug and I'll change my vote.

For me in 2026, this is still the BEST tower defence game on the market, been playing since original release for nearly 4 years now on GoG, The Dlc packs are good additions, and sense of destruction is fantastic once your unlocking all the top tiers Ignore my Steam playtime, got about 400+ Hrs on my GOG account version, only repurchased on Steam as it's less faff to join co-op with steam friends.

I really want to like this game as it has so many good ideas! But it just falls a bit flat for me. I find myself often frustrated and confused by what the objectives are asking of me and often it leads to me just not doing much exciting whilst waiting out timers or waiting for resources to replenish. The waves of enemies are all feeling the same across the different biomes I have gone so far. Swarm of little guys that die quickly, a few quick spitter things, a few big things, it's just not very…

Hours Played: 18.7h (so far) Verdict: ★★★★★ / Super Addictive I’ve had so much progress and fun in just 18.7 hours, and I’m definitely going to keep playing more. The Riftbreaker is one of those games where every session feels rewarding — you always unlock something new, upgrade your mech, expand your base, or survive a crazy wave that makes you feel like a genius. Why I’m loving it: Base-building is deep and satisfying Combat feels powerful and smooth Tons of things to progress, research,…

Until the endgame update and the mega structures, this was great. It had many options and ways you could tackle the game. You could do the DLC in any order if you're far enough, you could progress the story regardless of your skills, and get the full experience. With the mega structures, the focus has become singular - do the DLC to get the nukes, obliterate everything. There is no more, "We must save the world and us, too." There is no more balance - it is literally, "Waste all of the…

I enjoyed the base building, exploration and defense aspects of The Riftbreaker for a while, but the endgame completely ruined the experience for me. My defenses were strong enough to survive the attacks, my power grid was stable and plasma delivery was working flawlessly, yet the Rift Stabilizers kept malfunctioning for unclear…

If you've played to the endgame of Factorio/Satisfactory and They Are Billions and you wished for a lighter combination of the two genre's, this is likely for you. If you played only a handful of hours in those games and did not enjoy the, you may not like this. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 8Gb VRAM. Regardless of graphics settings and fidelity level the game always attempts to grab and allocate 8Gb of VRAM - causing MASSIVE slowdown for anyone with a 2Gb or 4Gb card - even though they are within the advertised minimum spec. Devs - for gods sake update your minimum specs to reflect the current state of the game!

The Riftbreaker is is an excellent example of a studio having a vision, executing on that vision, and then iteratively improving on that vision. I've played the game twice, once near release on Game Pass, and now more recently here on Steam. Both times I found the game difficult to put down. The Game Your main goal is to build a sizable base from which to stage both your offensive and defensive actions; offensive being things like making mining outposts or taking ground to build defensive…

This game feels like far too much of a rush for me. I prefer slower base building games that I can freely pause and spend time carefully planning out every little detail, but in this I get attacked so often there is no time to think at all; I feel like the game is just plopping down a bunch of stuff and hope for the best and move on.

I struggled whether to give it a thumbs up or down. Pls Lord Gabe give us a Mid-Button! Before the Loot 2.0 update i would have given it a thumbs up without a doubt, but these changes just broke fundamentals of the game. So before, you crafted a weapon and based on it's tier you got random bonus stats. If you did not like them you had to craft another one. Now crafted weapons are always the base version and only droped equipment has bonus stats. The old system was far from perfect, but at…

It took me about 59 hours to complete the main game + the 3 DLC's and to unlock 46/54 achievements. This was done solo and on the normal difficulty. I'm planning on grinding a bit more for the other achievements too and try to get this 100%. The game is fun, especially with friends. There is a bit of grinding involved, but nothing too crazy. Destroying waves of enemies, upgrading your base and gear, research a very extensive research tree and utilizing new types of ores/fluids are some…

I like it, I won't put much more time into it beyond 10 hours, but I got it for 8$ so can't complain. Game play loop is not very good. The resource management is too strict and it wants you to go from "planet to planet" and do the same loop. Every planet is the same with one "annoying" twist latched on to it to sap resources. You can see that there are cool weapons, neat upgrades but the investment to get there is not exciting. They tried to do an RTS / Combat style game but they neglected…

Recently finished an enjoyable three-player co-op campaign. If your RTS play-style is to "turtle" and build an impenetrable fortress while the local wildlife politely tries to eat/melt your face, you’ll feel right at home. Often the best part of building a base is the beginning when you’re planning it out, the game doubles down on this because every time you jump through a rift, you get the satisfaction of starting a fresh base from scratch. The tech tree is DEEP. The game refunds your…

A fun and enjoyable game. No performance issues or crashes experienced. Visually beautiful. Music is great, from restful "building base" to "doom clock" when you're about to be attacked. Sound is also great. Variety of biomes to challenge your building skills. Can become extremely challenging as you progress the story. If you enjoy base building, rpg, hack and slash and being able to do all that co-op, then this is a fantastic pick.

As good as it can be. Not perfect, but still very, very good. Almost every part of the gameplay is fun in its own way. An amazing way to make a "good ending" a lot harder to get than the basic one. Well-written sci-fi with quite an interesting character dynamic.

Great game 8/10 if you like Tower defence / Diablo-ish / Base economy Took me about 40ish hours for a finished campaign, 60hours for the extended ending. Can play using keyboard mouse and/or controller You can Co-opt with this.

Very cool mix of Hackn Slash RPG Diablo style, Tower Defense and a big base buidling game like Factorio (very light). MASSIVE research tree for new buildings, new tech, TONS of weapons, armor and gadgets for different playstyles. Different dodge mechanics, melee combat and all kinds of different weapons types u can dream of that can further be enhanced by mods that drop in the world that can give multishot, elemental damage, less ammocost, ricoche projectiles ect. Amazing graphics, masses of…

I have 500+ hours in Titanfall 2, almost 400 hours in Stellaris, and 200+ hours in Satisfactory and Bloons TD6; if it's not obvious, I find those kinds of games fun. It's like The Riftbreaker is made for me, combining mech combat, base building, tower defense, and resource management together in a typhoon of enjoyable ways. After 50 hours I can say it's fun.

It's absolutely INSANE how under the radar this game is. Combat is satisfying, enemies feel unique and it's a lot of fun with friends even if you'll be fighting over resources half of the time. Give it a try. If you don't like it, the refund button exists.

I got it as a coop Christmas gift for a friend and then ended up binging a ton of it solo and coop. It's basically a tower defense, power fantasy, and resource collection game. I was under the impression it'd be more "production" oriented with its factory themed, but mainly you're just gathering resources to build more towers and walls in the end. Simple, but quite fun.

I enjoyed the copy i was playing for a bit? But realized 1. This game is never on sale. And 2. This dev is a fascist. Play the Riftbreaker instead. The devs are kind and the game is dope as hell.

Summary: Very good game with about 25 hours of content in campaign if you go quickly and probably closer to 35 if you are a completionist. I completed in 29 hours (2 player multiplayer campaign). The new open survival mode should add quite a bit of playtime for people that like it as well. Worth purchasing at full price for fans of the genre, 100% worth when on sale. Description: In the game you are prepping a planet for human colonization in what plays out to be something similar to both…

    64) The Riftbreaker. A great example of a game with too much repetition to really hold me in the long term, but extremely fun for a while. You are a mech-pilot team on an alien world, preparing it to be exploited by earth through a mixture of action rpg combat and base-building.

Amazing game It feels like factorio but built specifically for coop. Any unfun gameplay features were removed making it so streamlined and easy to play. You can instantly teleport to other team members in fights allowing no one to feel like they aren't part of the action. There are so many systems that just work. The only issue is you need at least one player who likes building, because it still has the factorio like building mechanics just simplified. I do it, and my friends explore the map,…

What to expect from this game: Factorio but focusing entirely on the combat rather than the factory. You don't have to make belts to transport resources, nor do you have to build complex production chains to produce science, or anything else for that matter. Instead, you just have to build lots and lots of power generators and AI cores (basically a supply depot that allows you to build more turrets). I wish the terrain made building defenses a little more interesting, but it's largely a…
